Effect of the Linkers Between 9,9-Dimethylfluorenyl Terminal Moiety and a-Cyanoacrylic Acid Anchor on the $\lambda_{max}$ of the UV Spectrum and the Energy Efficiency in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC)

  • Six metal-free organic dyes having thiophene (1), benzene-thiophene (2), thiophene-benzene (3), thiophene-pyridine(4), thiophene-thiophene (5), and pyridine (6) linkers between 9,9-dimethylfluorenyl terminal group and $\alpha$-cyanoacrylic acid anchor were synthesized. Among them, organic dye 5 showed the longest ${\lambda}}max$ value (424 nm) in UV-Vis absorption spectrum, better incident monochromatic photon-to-current conversion efficiency (IPCE), highest short circuit photocurrent density (JSC, 9.33 mA2/cm2), and highest overall conversion efficiency ($\eta$, 3.91%).

Purification of the NADH Reductase Component of the Steroid $9{\alpha}$-hydroxylase from Mycobacterium fortuitum

  • The NADH reductase component of the steroid 9.alpha.-hydroxylase from Mycobacterium fortuitum was purified to homogeneity. Recovery of the enzyme from the 50-60% ammonium sulfate saturated fraction was 49%, with a purification factor of 100-fold. The NADH reductase has a relative molecular of 60 KDa as determined by SDS-PAGE. The absorption maxima at 410 and 450 nm indicate the presence of iron-sulfur group and flavin. These prosthetic groups seemed to function as redox groups that transfer electrons from NADH to the following protein. The $K_M$ value for NADH as substrate was $68{\mu}M$. The $NH_2$-terminal amino acid sequence of the reductase was determined as Met-Asp-Ala-Ile-Thr-Asn-Val-Pro-Leu-Pro-Ala-Asn-Glu-Pro-Val-His-Asp-Tyr-Ala-Thr. This sequence does not show a homology with the $NH_2$ -terminal sequences reported for the reductase component of other monooxygenases, suggesting that the NADH reductase component of the steroid 9.alpha.-hydroxylase system is novel.

Expression, Purification, and Characterization of C-Terminal Amidated Glucagon in Streptomyces lividans

  • Glucagon, a peptide hormone produced by alpha-cells of Langerhans islets, is a physiological antagonist of insulin and stimulator of its secretion. In order to improve its bioactivity, we modified its structure at the C-terminus by amidation catalyzed by a recombinant amidase in bacterial cells. The human gene coding for glucagon-gly was PCR amplified using three overlapping primers and cloned together with a rat ${\alpha}$-amidase gene in plasmid pMGA. Both genes were expressed under control of the strong constitutive promoter of aph and secretion signal melC1 in Streptomyces lividans. With Phenyl-Sepharose 6 FF, Q-Sepharose FF, SP-Sepharose FF chromatographies and HPLC, the peptide was purified to about 93.4% purity. The molecular mass of the peptide is 3.494 kDa as analyzed by MALDI TOF, which agrees with the theoretical mass value of the C-terminal amidated glucagon. The N-terminal sequence of the peptide was also determined, confirming its identity with human glucagon at the N-terminal part. ELISA showed that the purified peptide amide is bioactive in reacting with glucagon antibodies.

C5210-H(HP)와 NKT322-EH 소재의 협피치 커텍터에서 단조 가공에 의한 소재 폭 변화에 관한 연구 (A study on the change of material width by forging processing in fine pitch connector of C5210-H(HP) and NKT322-EH materials)

  • As devices such as smartphones, tablet PC, and wearable devices have been miniaturized, the connectors that go into the devices are also designed to be very small. The connector combines the plug and the receptacle to transfer electricity. As devices are miniaturized, the contact shape is formed by partially thinning the thickness of the raw material of the terminal in order to lower the coupling height of the plug and receptacle. The product used in this study is a receptacle terminal used for 0.4mm pitch board to board connector among fine pitch connectors. When the material thickness is reduced by forging the receptacle terminal, the width change of the pin is checked. To reduce the thickness of the material by forging, pre-notching is applied in the first step, forging in the second step, and notching in the third step. After forming the width dimension of the pin to 0.28 mm in the pre-notching process, in the forging process, the material thickness 0.08 mm and 0.02 mm (25%) were forged and the thickness was changed to 0.06 mm and the width change amount of the pin was measured. The facility produced 10,000 pieces at 400 SPM using a Yamada Dobby (MXM-40L) press, and thirty pins were measured and the average value was shown. After forging by using C5210-H (HP) and NKT322-EH, which are frequently used in connectors, analyze the amount of change in each material. The effect of punching oil on forging is investigated by appling FM-200M, which is highly viscous, and FL-212, fast drying oil. This study aims to minimize mold modification by predicting the amount of material change after forging.

온도하중을 고려한 인터모달 터미널 플랫폼의 설계 검토 (Design Review of Inter-Modal Terminal Platform for Temperature Load)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내에 새롭게 도입하고자 하는 인터모달 자동화물운송 시스템을 구현하기 위한 터미널 플랫폼 시설의 온도하중에 따른 적정 신축이음 간격을 살펴보았다. 터미널 플랫폼의 적정 신축이음 간격 검토는 미국 F.C.C.(federal construction council)에서 제안한 식을 이용하여 지역별 온도변화에 따른 최대 신축이음 간격을 설정하고, 구조해석 프로그램을 통해서 산출된 최대 변위값과 건축구조 수평변위 제한값을 비교하였다. 적정 신축이음 간격은 온도변화로 인한 구조물 최대 변위량이 수평변위 제한값 이하가 되는 슬래브 길이로 선정하였으며, F.C.C 제안식을 통하여 산정한 지역별 최대 신축이음 간격을 적용하여 구조물 최대 발생 변위를 살펴본 결과, 건축구조 수평변위 제한값 이내에서 발생될 수 있는 최대변위 값을 확인할 수 있었다.

하이브리드 알고리즘을 이용한 Wi-Fi 기반의 실내 측위 시스템 (Wi-Fi Based Indoor Positioning System Using Hybrid Algorithm)

  • 위치 정보를 제공하는 대표적인 측위 기술은 GPS다. 이 기술은 밀도가 높은 도심이나 숲, 그리고 실내와 같은 음영지역에서는 동작하지 않는 단점이 있다. 본 논문은 실내의 AP로 부터의 Wi-Fi 신호의 세기를 이용하여 보다 정확한 단말의 위치를 추정하게 해주는 실내 측위 하이브리드 알고리즘을 제안한다. 사용자의 위치를 결정하기 위해 건물 구조, 사람, 거리 등 다양한 환경에서 측정한 RSSI (received signal strength indicator) 값을 이용하여 측정 환경에 맞는 가장 적절한 경로손실모델을 수립한다. 이러한 경로 손실 모델에서 구해진 경로손실지수를 환경에 따라 변화시켜, AP로 부터 얻은 측정값을 이용하여 REKF (robust extended kalman filter)와 PF (particle filter) 알고리즘을 사용하여 단말기의 위치를 추정하게 된다. 보다 더 정확한 위치 추정을 위해 하나의 측위 방식만을 사용하지 않고, 실험을 통하여 구해진 임계값에 따라 어떠한 측위방식을 사용할 것인지를 결정한다. 제안한 하이브리드 알고리즘을 이용하여 실험한 결과 기존의 단일 측위 방식 보다 평균 17% 성능이 향상 되는 것을 볼 수 있었다.

LNG 밀도계를 이용한 저장 탱크 내 LNG 발열량 실시간 측정방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Method for Measuring the live Calorific Value of LNG in storage tank using LNG Densitometer)

  • 가스호환성에 문제가 있는 저열량의 LNG가 도입되기 시작한 것은 2005년 동절기부터이다. 이러한 LNG의 도입량은 매년 증가하고 있으며 향후에는 극저열량(발열량 ${\leq}$ 9,500 kcal/$Nm^3$)의 CBM(Coal Bed Methane), Shale LNG도 대량 도입될 예정에 있다. 따라서 호환 가능한 발열량의 가스를 인수기지에서 송출하기 위해서는 저장 탱크별 LNG 발열량을 실시간으로 모니터링할 수 있는 방법이 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 방법의 일환으로 저장 탱크 내설치된 밀도계를 이용하여 LNG 발열량을 실시간으로 측정할 수 있는 방법을 개발하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 액상 LNG와 발열량 간의 정밀 정확한 상관식을 도출하고 이 방법의 불확도를 계산하였으며 또 인수기지 내 발열량 측정 시스템을 시험 구축하였다. 본 방법의 유효성을 확인하기 위해 현장 LNG 분석데이터와 비교하였으며 그 결과 0.17~0.47%정도의 편차를 확인하였다.

아산지역 도로변의 $NO_2$ 및 TSP 농도에 관한 연구 (A study on $NO_2$ and TSP levels of the Major Trunk Road in Asan-area)

  • The atmospheric concentrations of Nitrogen Dioxide ($NO_2$) and Total Suspended Particulates (TSP) at the traffic road side were measured n Asan area, Choongchumg-namdo during May 1998 and January, 1999.The results of the study are as follows;1. The aversge value of airbone $NO_2$ and TSP levels were 28.5ppb and 5.9mg/me in Asan area. 2. The concentration distribution of NO2 and TSP is high for the season of winter. On a daily pattern, somewhat high value is appeared in the afternoon. 3. For the station, terminal, and Shinchang, the average value of $NO_2$ is 33.6ppb, 27.9ppb and 24.1ppb in sequence, and the ones of TSP is 6.3mg/m3, 6.0mg/m3 and 5.3mg/m3 in order.4. The high levels of $NO_2$ and TSP were positively related to traffic volume.

Adaptive Controller Design for a Synchronous Generator with Unknown Perturbation in Mechanical Power

  • Transient stabilization with voltage regulation is investigated for a synchronous generator when the mechanical power is perturbed to any unknown value within its physical bounds so that the operating point of the system shifts to an unknown point. An adaptive excitation controller is designed based on the backstepping method with tuning functions. It will be shown that the adaptive control law proposed can achieve the convergence of the system states to the new equilibrium point in correspondence with the real value of the unknown mechanical power and the regulation of the terminal voltage to the required value. Simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller for the transient stabilization and voltage regulation.

Synthesis and characterization of new liquid crystalline polymer for in-cell retardation film

  • A new rod-like liquid crystalline monomer having divinyl terminal groups was synthesized and polymerized by using thiol-ene UV polymerization technique. High quality thin film with good retardation value was prepared on a rubbed alignment layer without the inert gas purging. The retardation value of the resulting film was controlled by experimental conditions such as spin speed, concentration, and spin time. From the retardation value and thickness measurement, ${\bigtriangleup}n$ was calculated to be 0.169 for the resulting film having thickness of 815.1 nm.
