전폐형 유도전동기의 온도분포에 관한 수치 및 실험적 해석 (Numerical and experimental analysis of temperature distribution in TEFC induction motor)

  • We studied the temperature distribution and heat transfer characteristics of TEFC induction motor with thermal network program for more efficient design and better cooling performance of it. We knew the characteristics and the windage loss of outer cooling fan from fan test experiments. Frame axial and peripheral heat transfer coefficients and endwinding heat transfer coefficient were measured by various model experiments and then, compared with other experimental results. Frame was the main heat transfer surface, load-side and fan-side surface were not thermally symmetric from the heat flux distribution analysis. Steady and unsteady temperature distributions were measured by real motor experiments. From the results, we knew that rotor surface temperature was higher than coil temperature and the hottest spot in the coil was loadside endwinding outside surface. We compared the simulation results with those of real motor test and the two results showed a good agreement.

  • Copper manganite thin films were fabricated on $SiN_x/Si$ substrate by metal organic decomposition (MOD) process. They were burned-out at $400^{\circ}C$ and annealed at various temperatures ($400{\sim}800^{\circ}C$) for 1h in ambient atmosphere. Their micro-structure and negative temperature coefficient of resistance (NTCR) characteristics were analyzed for micro-bolometer application. The copper manganite film with a cubic spinel structure was well developed at $500^{\circ}C$ which confirmed by XRD and HRTEM analysis. It showed a low resistivity ($47.5{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$) at room temperature and high NTCR characteristics of $-4.12%/^{\circ}C$ and $-2.15%/^{\circ}C$ at room temperature and $85^{\circ}C$, implying a good thin film for micro-bolometer application. Furthermore, its crystallinity was enhanced with increasing temperature to $600^{\circ}C$. However, the appearance of secondary phase at temperatures higher than $600^{\circ}C$ lead to deteriorate the NTCR characteristics.

Thermal Resistance and Condensation in the Light-frame Timber Wall Structures with Various Composition of Insulation Layers

  • As energy costs increase, more people has become interested on energy efficiency and savings in residential buildings. The two main subjects related to energy in residential buildings are insulation and condensation. There are two approaches to prevent condensation; increasing air tightness and maintaining the temperature inside of the wall structure over the dew point, which is in turn related to insulation. Even though the Korean government has highlighted the importance of energy efficiency for residential housings, and in spite of the customers' demands, the timber construction industry is still using conventional light-frame construction without even trying to improve energy efficiency. In this study, various types and combinations of wall structures were tested under cold outdoor and warm indoor temperatures to analyse the temperature gradients and to determine the possible sites of condensation in the wall structures. In addition to the experimental tests, three theoretical models were developed and their estimations of temperature change through the wall structure were compared with the actual measurements to evaluate accuracy of the models. The results of the three models agree relatively well with the experimental values, indicating that they can be used to estimate temperature changes in wall structures. The theoretical analysis of different insulation layers' combinations show that condensation may occur within the mid-layer in the conventional light-frame wall structures for any combination of inner-, mid-, and outer-layers of insulation. Therefore, it can be concluded that the addition of an inner and outer insulation layer or increasing the thickness of insulation may not be adequate to prevent condensation in the wall structure without preventing penetration of warm moist air into the wall structure.

A Study on Optimum Spark Plasma Sintering Conditions for Conductive SiC-ZrB2 Composites

  • Conductive SiC-$ZrB_2$ composites were produced by subjecting a 40:60 (vol%) mixture of zirconium diboride (ZrB2) powder and ${\beta}$-silicon carbide (SiC) matrix to spark plasma sintering (SPS). Sintering was carried out for 5 min in an argon atmosphere at a uniaxial pressure and temperature of 50 MPa and $1500^{\circ}C$, respectively. The composite sintered at a heating speed of $25^{\circ}C$/min and an on/off pulse sequence of 12:2 was denoted as SZ12L. Composites SZ12H, SZ48H, and SZ10H were obtained by sintering at a heating speed of $100^{\circ}C$/min and at on/off pulse sequences of 12:2, 48:8, and 10:9, respectively. The physical, electrical, and mechanical properties of the SiC-$ZrB_2$ composites were examined and thermal image analysis of the composites was performed. The apparent porosities of SZ12L, SZ12H, SZ48H, and SZ10H were 13.35%, 0.60%, 12.28%, and 9.75%, respectively. At room temperature, SZ12L had the lowest flexural strength (286.90 MPa), whereas SZ12H had the highest flexural strength (1011.34 MPa). Between room temperature and $500^{\circ}C$, the SiC-$ZrB_2$ composites had a positive temperature coefficient of resistance (PTCR) and linear V-I characteristics. SZ12H had the lowest PTCR and highest electrical resistivity among all the composites. The optimum SPS conditions for the production of energy-friendly SiC-$ZrB_2$ composites are as follows: 1) an argon atmosphere, 2) a constant pressure of 50 MPa throughout the sintering process, 3) an on/off pulse sequence of 12:2 (pulse duration: 2.78 ms), and 4) a final sintering temperature of $1500^{\circ}C$ at a speed of $100^{\circ}C$/min and sintering for 5 min at $1500^{\circ}C$.

바이오디젤 원료용 유채 함수율 센서 개발 (Development of a Moisture Content Sensor for Rapeseed as Biodiesel Raw Material)

  • This study was conducted to develop a moisture sensor for rapeseed, a bio-diesel material. A typical rapeseed, SUNMANG, was used as a raw material. The rapeseed moisture content sensor consists of three components, such as upper and bottom electrodes, a test material dish, and a fixing housing. To evaluate the performance, a data acquisition system was equipped with the rapeseed moisture sensor, computer, printer, and main board. The findings of this study were: 1) the rapeseed moisture content was inversely proportional to electric resistance, and 2) values of electric resistance were recorded in a range of $10{\sim}100\;M{\Omega}$, depending upon a change of the moisture content. The determination of coefficient ($R^2$) and standard error between rapeseed moisture content and electric resistance were 0.9921 and ${\pm}0.289$, which indicated a highly correlative relationship. The response of rapeseed moisture sensor to temperature change was also observed for further performance test. Satisfying results were obtained, such as the determination of coefficient ($R^2$) of 0.9918, predicted standard error of ${\pm}0.373%$, deviation of 0.103%, measurement error of $0.14{\sim}0.48%$, standard deviation of $0.01{\sim}0.22%$, and measurement time of 28.3 s per point, respectively.

저온에서 벼의 발아율 및 발아속도 관련 양적형질 유전자좌(QTL) 분석 (QTL Analysis of Germination Rate and Germination Coefficient of Velocity under Low Temperature in Rice)

  • 자포니카 벼의 저온 스트레스 내성 증진을 위하여, RIL 계통을 이용하여 저온 스트레스 내성 QTL을 탐색하였다. 이를 통하여 (1) 5, 9번 염색체에서 저온발아에 관련한 '기호벼' 유래 QTL, qLTG5와 qLTG9를 확인하였으며, 7, 9번 염색체에서 저온 발아속도에 관련한 '밀양23호' 및 '기호벼' 유래 QTL, qOGCV7, qOGCV9를 확인하였다. (2) Duncan 검정결과, 그룹VII [qLTG5+qLTG9 (qOGCV9)], 그룹VIII [qLTG5+qOGCV7+qLTG9 (qOGCV9)]의 계통들이 저온 스트레스에 내성이 있는 것으로 확인 되었다. (3) 최근 발표된 RIL 집단 담수내성 계통과 비교한 결과, 저온 스트레스에도 내성이 있으면서 담수발아에도 내성이 있는 것으로 확인된 총 2개의 유망 유전자원을 선발하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 저온 및 혐기 관련 QTL의 집적은 벼의 저온에서의 발아 및 초기 입모율을 높여 저온스트레스 내성 개선에 도움이 되는 것으로 판단 되었으며, 선발된 유망 계통은 향후 직파재배 품종 육성에 유용한 유전자원으로 활용되어 직파재배의 안정성 증대에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

Zn-Ni도금의 합금화에 미치는 전류밀도, 온도와 전해액농도의 영향 (Effect of current density, temperature and electrolyte concentration on Composition of Zn-Ni Electrodeposits)

  • 산업계에서는 희생양극의 원리를 이용한 아연도금이 사용되고 있다. 순수아연도금보다 내식성을 증가시키기 위한 방안의 하나로 Zn-Ni 합금도금이 개발되었다. 합금 도금층은 순 아연 도금층에 비하여 4-5배의 내식성을 가지고 있어서 도금 단가가 높음에도 불구하고 고내식성을 요구하는 자동차 부품 등에 적용이 증가되고 있다. Zn-Ni 합금도금액은 황산욕, 염화욕, 알칼리욕과 암모니아욕 등이 사용되고 있다. 여기에서는 염화욕에서 합금도금의 조성에 미치는 전해조건의 영향을 조사하였다. 그 결과는 음극 과전압 및 확산계수에 의해 설명하였다. 일반적으로 음극의 과전압이 증가함에 따라 활성화분극보다 농도분극이 중요하게 된다. 농도분극은 확산 층 내의 원소 확산에 의해 결정된다. 즉 음극의 과전압이 증가함에 따라 확산계수가 큰 Zn 함량이 증가한다.

소형연안객선(小型沿岸客船)의 Trim변화(變化)가 저항(抵抗)에 미치는 영향(影響) (A Study on the Effect of Trim on the Resistance in a Small Coastwise Passenger Boat)

  • The authors considered the effects of trim in the small coastal passenger boat upon resistance in this paper. Any change of trim no matter how small, necessarily produces some effect upon resistance. The relations between the resistance coefficients and trim were investigated through the towing test of the Model $MCI-P_1-65$, Korean Standardized Ship, GT 70 tons passenger boat in the gravitational tank. The Lines of the Model are given in Fig. 1. Principal dimensions and other characteristics vary with the trim in general. Those values varied with the trim for $MCI-P_1-65$ are tabulated in table 1. The resistance was measured at five conditions such as even keel, 0.0273L, (original designed trim) 0.0473L, 0.0663L, 0.0873L trim by the stern, fixing the displacement corresponding to the designed load water line. Model was made of wood in length of 3.5 feet coated with varnish, and without appendages. As the artificial turbulent stimulator, the sand strip method was used. The results of model towing tests, correcting to water temperature of $70^{\circ}F$, were expanded to full scale using the Schoenherr's friction formula and surface roughness allowance coefficient of 0.0004. The authors point out, the following results. 1) Optimum trim which gives the minimum resistance exists for every speed at constant displacement and each comes to the same value. For $MCI-P_1-65$ optimum trim is 0.0673L trim by the stern(Fig.4-The cross curves of the resistancecoefficients). 2) At constant displacement, when LCB(longitudinal position of center of buoyancy) varies with the trim, there exists optimum value of LCB which gives minimum resistance for every speed and each comes to the same value. For $MCI-P_1-65$ optimum position of LCB is 8%L aft from midship section (Fig.6).

  • 여러가지 화학 조성을 갖는 aluminium titanate mullite복합제는 $AI_2O_3$분말을 알콜 분산용액에서 $Si(OC_2H_5)_4$$Ti(OC_2H_5)_4$의 단계적인 가수 분해로 합성되었다. Mullite함량이 20-50vol%인 소결체($1600^{\circ}C$/2h)는 비교적 높은 강도와 낮은 열팽창 계수를 갖는 aluminium titanate를 개발할 수 있는 가능성을 보였다. 이와 같은 결과는 mullite로 인한 aluminium titanate의 입자 크기의 억제와 미세균열에 의하여 얻어졌다. aluminium titanate의 함량이 70-80vol% 복합재료는 우수한 열충격 저항성을 지녔으며 상온 강도는 31-45MPa이었다. 열충격 저항성, 영률, sound velocity화 열팽창 계수가 연구되었다.

냉각공기 유속 측정에 기반한 철도차량용 공기압축기 열교환기의 열전달 특성 분석 (Heat Transfer Analysis of a Heat Exchanger for an Air-Compressor of a Railway Vehicle Based on Cooling Air Flow Measurement)

  • In this study, local velocity distribution of cooling air in a heat exchanger used in an air compressor for a railway car was measured and heat transfer characteristics of the heat exchanger were analyzed. First, heat transfer coefficient and fin performance of the cooling air side were predicted and was checked if the fin of the heat exchanger was effectively used. Distribution of air flow rate at high temperature side was predicted through pipe network analysis and heat resistance at high temperature and low temperature side were predicted and compared. Spatial distribution of temperature in the interior and surface of the square channel constituting high-temperature side was predicted and appropriateness of the size of the heat exchanger was examined. As a result of the analysis, the present size of the heat exchanger could be reduced and it could be effective to promote heat transfer inside the heat exchanger rather than outside to improve performance of the heat exchanger.
