Circular Polarization Diversity in Indoor Wireless Mobile Environments

  • In this paper,. with the aim of achieving the expected performance improvement for a polarization diversity system, we analyzed two-branch polarization diversity at the receiving end of a mobile link which a transmitter emits circularly polarized wave. In this analysis, to calculate the correlation coefficient considered by XPD(cross polarization discrimination) between the two received signals, a simple theoretical model of circular polarization diversity is adopted. From the analysis results, it is clearly seen that the correlation coefficient of circular polarization diversity evaluated by the XPD is less than that of conventional linear polarization diversity. And also, we designed and implemented a circular polarization diversity system with micro-strip antenna. By using the circular polarization diversity system, we analyzed the measured data in indoor NLOS(Non-Line-Of-Sight) environments. From this analysis results, it is also clearly seen that the diversity effect of circular polarization diversity system shows better performance compared to the conventional linear diversity system by about 3 dB high.

React Native and Android Mobile Apps for Smart Tourism Information Service to FITs

  • We develop a smart tourism information system that provides smart tourism services to free independent tourists (FITs) through various content distribution channels such as mobile apps, Instagram, YouTube, and chatbots. The smart tourism information system provides location and storytelling-based tourism information, accommodation, restaurant information, and recommended travel products so that tourists can create a travel itinerary based on personalized situation awareness. The smart tourism information system also provides smart tourism services using commercial maps, navigation, and weather forecast APIs from the Korea Meteorological Administration to provide smart tour guide services to tourists who travel according to the travel itinerary. In this paper, we develop the React Native app that provides smart tourism services provided by the smart tourism information system. The smart tourism React Native app has implemented two methods: a method that directly connects to the smart tourism information system, and a method that provides services by interworking through the GraphQL Query Language developed by META (Facebook). The smart tourism React Native app implements OSMU (One Source Multi-use) by providing tourism information from mobile apps, photos from Instagram, and drone videos from YouTube as an integrated UI.

  • The accidents on the sea which have happened in korea was caused by small boats as much as more than 80percent. These small boats are not equipped with maritime safety telecommunication network. And the accidents related to small boats have been notable as the current system of maritime safety telecommunication network was changed into GMDSS system in 1999. There can be many presumed reasons that these accidents have happened. The main reason, however, the owners of small boats do business on so small a scale that they can't introduce the expensive telecommunication equipments. And almost these small boats use land mobile telecommunication system more often than ever, so it is necessary to prepare for a way to use it reasonably. This paper is to design maritime safety telecommunication network for small boats under korean situation, using land mobile telecommunication system.

  • 본 연구에서는 클러스터 VOD 서버에서의 내장형 클라이언트 플랫폼을 선계 및 구현하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 클러스터 VOD 서버의 구성과 기능을 살펴보고, 리눅스 환경에서 서버의 기능을 지원하면서 리모콘을 통한 제어와 TV를 통한 출력이 제공되도록 클라이언트를 설계 및 구현하였다. 구현된 시스템에 대한 성능 평가를 통하여 문제점들을 분석하고 대책을 제안한다.

  • In this study the purpose is development of passive cooling system for telecommunication cabinet used by latent heat material. This cooling system is not required for electronic power. It was tested for the performance of the telecommunication combined latent heat material with $48^{\circ}C$ of phase changed temperature and heat pipe. At $45^{\circ}C$ of outside temperature, when heater power was 1,000 W and 1,500 W, the inside temperature of the cabinet was $55^{\circ}C$ and $62^{\circ}C$. This system was showed better performance than the other systems.

RFI susceptibilities of the integrated power semiconductors in high speed train system influence much on the system safety.   • Recently, with the explosive increase of video streaming services, real-time live broadcasting has also increased, which leads to an infringement problem for user privacy. So, to solve such problems, we proposed the real image blurring system using dlib face-recognition library. 68 face landmarks are extracted and convert into 128 vector values. After that the proposed system tries to compare this value with the image in the database, and if it is over 0.45, it is considered as different person and image blurring processing is performed. With the proposed system, it is possible to solve the problem of user privacy infringement, and also to be utilized to detect the specific person. Through experimental results, the proposed system has an accuracy of more than 90% in terms of face recognition.

  • Telegram is an indispensible information & telecommunication system to our daily life. VTS(Voice Telegram System) under intensive research is intended to enhance exchanging capability of information & telecommunication by adding voice media to existing telegram system. Overall configuration and necessary core technologies of the system were investigated for its development. Among those many technologies in need, the technology of compressing and recording data is most critical to the development of cheap hardware. This is so called vocoder algorithm and is the core technology of voice information system. So, here, vocoder algorithm now being studied will be introduced.
