A Numerical Analysis on Thermal Stratification Phenomenon by In-Leakage in a Branch Piping

  • Thermal stratification in the branch piping of power plants can be generated by turbulent penetration or by valve leakage. In this study, a numerical analysis was performed to estimate the thermal stratification phenomenon by in-leakage in the SIS branch piping of nuclear power plant. Leakage rate, leakage area and leakage location were selected as evaluation factors to investigate the thermal stratification effect. As a result of the thermal stratification effect according to leakage rate, the maximum temperature difference between top and bottom of the horizontal piping was evaluated to be about 185K when the valve leakage rate was about 10 times as much as the allowed leakage rate. For leakage rate more than 10 times the allowed leakage rate, the temperature difference was rapidly decreased due to the increased mixing effect. In the result according to leakage area, the magnitude of temperature difference was shown in order of $3\%,\;1\%\;and\;5\%$ leakage area of the total disk area. In the thermal stratification effect, according to the leakage location, temperature difference when leakage occurred in the lower disk was considerably higher than that of when leakage occurred in the upper disk.

Effects of Carrier Leakage on Photoluminescence Properties of GaN-based Light-emitting Diodes at Room Temperature

  • Photoluminescence (PL) properties of GaN-based light-emitting diodes (LEDs) were analyzed to study the effects of carrier leakage on the luminescence properties at room temperature. The electrical leakage and PL properties were compared for LEDs showing leakages at forward bias and an LED with an intentional leakage path formed by connecting a parallel resistance of various values. The leakages at the forward bias, which could be observed from the current-voltage characteristics, resulted in an increase in the excitation laser power density for the maximum PL efficiency (ratio of PL intensity to excitation power) as well as a reduction in the PL intensity. The effect of carrier leakages on PL properties was similar to the change in PL properties owing to a reduction of the photovoltage by a reverse current since the direction of the carrier movement under photoexcitation is identical to that of the reverse current. Valid relations between PL properties and electrical properties were observed as the PL properties deteriorated with an increase in the carrier leakage. The results imply that the PL properties of LED chips can be an indicator of the electrical properties of LEDs.

  • 지난 5년간 국가기술의 약 200여건이 해외로 유출되었으며, 그 중의 70% 이상이 중소기업이며, 내부유출은 80%에 이르는 것으로 통계자료(국가정보원 산업기밀보호센터)를 통해 확인 할 수 있다. 이는 중소기업내의 내부유출 방지에 대한 정부의 산업기술 유출방지를 위한 정책이 중소기업에 집중되어야 한다는 것이다. 특히 기술유출 피해경험이 기업규모에 따라 유출방지 성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석한 연구는 전무하며 산업기술 유출에 대한 요인을 조사한 연구 또한 미약한 실정이다. 본 연구는 기존의 선행되어진 국, 내외의 연구들을 분석하여 산업기술 유출방지 성과에 미치는 요인을 바탕으로 각각의 특성들을 성질화 하여 변인들을 각각 TOE 프레임워크와 TAM모델을 적용하여 성과와의 영향관계를 실증 분석하였다. 산업기술 내부 유출을 보호하기 위하여 정부정책, 회사의 방향성 등이 어떤 영향을 미치는지 분석하여 방향성을 제시하는 것이 산업기술의 내외적인 유출보호에 대하여 기업과 조직에게 시스템 구축과 인력관리에 대한 실무적 시사점을 제공해줌으로써 정책과 제도를 수립하는데 방향성을 제시하고자 연구를 진행하였으며, 이에 따른 보다 올바른 방향성 제고에 그 의미를 두고 있다.

  • In this paper, we developed a sensor for monitoring the leakage current through the chassis of the robot. The leakage current sensor needs to be developed because it is a necessary part to prevent electric shock accidents that may occur through the chassis of a robot or an electric vehicle. This leakage monitoring sensor was developed to be mounted directly on the chassis of the robot. This sensor protects the control system from noise by discharging static and high-frequency noise that may occur in the chassis of the robot and monitors the leakage current by measuring the amount of current discharged through the ground. In this paper, a leakage monitoring sensor was developed with a simple structure using resistors, capacitors and OP-AMP, and the performance was evaluated.

The Impact of Gate Leakage Current on PLL in 65 nm Technology: Analysis and Optimization

  • For CMOS technology of 65 nm and beyond, the gate leakage current can not be negligible anymore. In this paper, the impact of the gate leakage current in ring voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) on phase-locked loop (PLL) is analyzed and modeled. A voltage -to-voltage (V-to-V) circuit is proposed to reduce the voltage ripple on $V_{ctrl}$ induced by the gate leakage current. The side effects induced by the V-to-V circuit are described and optimized either. The PLL design is based on a standard 65 nm CMOS technology with a 1.8 V power supply. Simulation results show that 97 % ripple voltage is smoothed at 216 MHz output frequency. The RMS and peak-to-peak jitter are 3 ps and 14.8 ps, respectively.

Dynamic data validation and reconciliation for improving the detection of sodium leakage in a sodium-cooled fast reactor

  • Since the leakage of sodium in an SFR (sodium-cooled fast reactor) causes an explosion upon reaction with air and water, sodium leakages represent an important safety issue. In this study, a novel technique for improving the reliability of sodium leakage detection applying DDVR (dynamic data validation and reconciliation) is proposed and verified to resolve this technical issue. DDVR is an approach that aims to improve the accuracy of a target system in a dynamic state by minimizing random errors, such as from the uncertainty of instruments and the surrounding environment, and by eliminating gross errors, such as instrument failure, miscalibration, or aging, using the spatial redundancy of measurements in a physical model and the reliability information of the instruments. DDVR also makes it possible to estimate the state of unmeasured points. To validate this approach for supporting sodium leakage detection, this study applies experimental data from a sodium leakage detection experiment performed by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute. The validation results show that the reliability of sodium leakage detection is improved by cooperation between DDVR and hardware measurements. Based on these findings, technology integrating software and hardware approaches is suggested to improve the reliability of sodium leakage detection by presenting the expected true state of the system.

중소기업 기술 유출에 대한 조기경보시스템 개발에 대한 연구 (Development on Early Warning System about Technology Leakage of Small and Medium Enterprises)

  • 급속한 IT의 발전으로 인해 개인정보뿐만 아니라 기업이 보유하고 있는 핵심 기술 및 정보에 대한 유출 위협이 중요한 이슈로 인식되고 있다. 기업에게 있어서 보유하고 있는 핵심 기술은 기업의 생존 및 지속적으로 경쟁 우위를 차지하기 위해 매우 중요한 부분이다. 최근 기술 침해 사례가 많이 일어나고 있는데, 기술 유출은 기업에게 있어서 주가하락 등의 막대한 재무적인 손실을 가져올 뿐만 아니라, 기업의 신뢰에 손상을 입게 되고, 기업의 발전을 지연시키게 되는 악영향을 미치게 된다. 특히, 대기업에 비해 핵심기술이 기업 내 중요한 많은 부분을 차지하는 중소기업에 있어서 기술 유출에 대한 대비는 기업의 존립에 있어서 필수적인 요소로 볼 수 있다. 이처럼 정보 보안 관리의 필요성과 중요성이 대두되면서 기업 입장에서 조기에 기술 침해 위협에 대해 확인하고 대비할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 기술 유출에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 탐색하는 실증 분석을 수행하고, 인공지능 알고리즘을 통해 기술유출 조기경보시스템을 개발하고자 한다. 구체적으로 본 연구에서는 중소기업이 보유한 기술 유출에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 확인해보고, 통계분석을 통해 검증된 요인들을 기반으로 인공지능 여러 기법들 중 하나인 Support Vector Machine을 활용하여 기술침해 가능성을 조기에 알려주는 모형을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 기술 유출 가능성에 대한 조기 경보 모형을 통해 기업 및 정부 관점에서 기술 유출을 미리 예방할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

A 32nm and 0.9V CMOS Phase-Locked Loop with Leakage Current and Power Supply Noise Compensation

  • This paper presents two novel compensation circuits for leakage current and power supply noise (PSN) in phase locked loop (PLL) using a nanometer CMOS technology. The leakage compensation circuit reduces the leakage current of the charge pump circuit which becomes more serious problem due to the thin gate oxide and small threshold voltage in nanometer CMOS technology and the PSN compensation circuit decreases the effect of power supply variation on the output frequency of VCO. The PLL design is based on a 32nm predictive CMOS technology and uses a 0.9V power supply voltage. The simulation results show that the proposed PLL achieves a 88% jitter reduction at 440MHz output frequency compared to the PLL without leakage compensator and its output frequency drift is little to 20% power supply voltage variations. The PLL has an output frequency range of $40M{\sim}725MHz$ with a multiplication range of 11023, and the RMS and peak-to-peak jitter are 5ps and 42.7ps, respectively.

  • In these days, repair materials for leakage cannot help but being taken in temporary way without any noticeable countermeasure. This kind of repair is socially criticized many times that is defective construction even if tills costs a lot. It was not arrange the standard for performance evaluation test method and quality maintenance for materials, even it has been used various injection repairing agent. In conclusion, We suggest that the test method for repair materials for leakage to establish the leakage repairing technology as increase of structure demand, so that the necessity of the establishment of the quality control standard and the performance testing way on the relevant water-proof seal is increasing a lot to regulate the water-proof technology and the leakage repair technology.

A leak detection and 3D source localization method on a plant piping system by using multiple cameras

  • To reduce the secondary damage caused by leakage accidents in plant piping systems, a constant surveillance system is necessary. To ensure leaks are promptly addressed, the surveillance system should be able to detect not only the leak itself, but also the location of the leak. Recently, research to develop new methods has been conducted using cameras to detect leakage and to estimate the location of leakage. However, existing methods solely estimate whether a leak exists or not, or only provide two-dimensional coordinates of the leakage location. In this paper, a method using multiple cameras to detect leakage and estimate the three-dimensional coordinates of the leakage location is presented. Leakage is detected by each camera using MADI(Moving Average Differential Image) and histogram analysis. The two-dimensional leakage location is estimated using the detected leakage area. The three-dimensional leakage location is subsequently estimated based on the two-dimensional leakage location. To achieve this, the coordinates (x, z) for the leakage are calculated for a horizontal section (XZ plane) in the monitoring area. Then, the y-coordinate of leakage is calculated using a vertical section from each camera. The method proposed in this paper could accurately estimate the three-dimensional location of a leak using multiple cameras.
