Monolayer hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) is a phenomenal two-dimensional material; most of its physical properties rival those of graphene because of their structural similarities. This intriguing material has thus spurred scientists and researchers to develop novel synthetic methods to attain scalability for enabling its practical utilization. When probing the growth behaviors and structural characteristics of h-BN, the use of appropriate characterization techniques is important. In this review, we detail the use of scanning and transmission electron microscopies to investigate the atomic configurations of monolayer and bilayer h-BN grown via chemical vapor deposition. These advanced microscopy techniques have been demonstrated to provide intimate insights to the atomic structures of h-BN, which can be interpreted directly or indirectly using known growth mechanisms and existing theoretical calculations. This review provides a collective understanding of the structural characteristics and defects of synthetic h-BN films and facilitates a better perspective toward the development of new and improved synthesis techniques.

The gas atmosphere in continuous annealing and galvanizing lines alters both composition and microstructure of the surface and sub-surface of sheet steel. The formation and morphology of the oxides of alloying elements in High Strength Interstitial Free (HS-IF), Dual Phase (DP) and Transformation-Induced Plasticity (TRIP) steels are strongly influenced by the furnace dew point, and the presence of specific oxide may result in surface defects and bare areas on galvanized sheet products. The present contribution reviews the progress made recently in understanding the selective formation of surface and subsurface oxides during annealing in hot dip galvanizing and conventional continuous annealing lines. It is believed that the surface and sub-surface composition and microstructure have a pronounced influence on galvanized sheet product surface quality. In the present study, it is shown that the understanding of the relevant phenomena requires a combination of precise laboratory-scale simulations of the relevant technological processes and the use of advanced surface analytical tools.
Constant technological developments in coronary artery disease have contributed to the assessment of both the presence of coronary stenosis and its hemodynamic consequences. Hence, noninvasive imaging helps guide therapeutic decisions by providing complementary information on coronary morphology and on myocardial perfusion and metabolism. This can he done using single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) or positron emission tomography (PET) and multidetector CT (MDCT). Advances in image-processing software and the advent of SPECT/CT and PET/CT have paved the way for the combination of image datasets from different modalities, giving rise to hybrid imaging. Three dimensional cardiac hybrid imaging helped to confirm hemodynamic significance in many lesions, add new lesions such as left main coronay artery disease, exclude equivocal defects, correct the corresponding arteries to their allocated defects and identify culprit segment. Cardiac hybrid imaging avoids the mental integration of functional and morphologic images and facilitates a comprehensive interpretation of coronaty lesions and their pathophysiologic adequacy by three dimensional display of fused images, and allows the best evaluation of myocardial territories and the coronary-artery branches that serve each territory. This integration of functional and morphological information were feasible to intuitively convincing and might facilitate development of a comprehensive non-invasive assessment of coronary artery disease.
Product liability (PL), which began enforcement in 2002, refers to the legal responsibility of the manufacturers or sellers (wholesales or retailers) for the property damage or bodily harm caused by their product. With a strong enforcement of the Product Liability (PL) Act, companies are required to structure and operate a response system to defend or prevent product accidents efficiently, but small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are unable to respond more aggressively due to limitation of management resources. In this manner, it is important to develop response strategies for SMEs to efficiently cope with the PL Act. In this paper, the PEST (Political, Economic, Social, and Technological) analysis is performed to reveal the impact of the PL Act on SMEs in macro-economic point of view. To formulate SME's PL response strategy, SWOT analysis is performed to categorize each factors from PEST analysis and AHP is applied to identify the intensities of SWOT factors. The prioritized SWOT factor, results of PEST-SWOT-AHP analysis, are used to formulate SME's PL response strategies. The study results are briefly summarized as follows. To reduce product defects, it is necessary for SMEs to formulate PL response strategies for each phase of the product life cycle by continuously collecting and analyzing PL cases in the same industry or for similar products. In addition, SMEs should invest more technological effort to ensure product safety. Further, SMEs should spread PL awareness to all staff members by training internal PL experts. Moreover, a SME should enroll in PL insurance and spread this information to its customers so that they become aware that the company is proactively conforming to the PL law.

The didactic principles of the educational process for 3D-printing specialists are determined. The use of FDM technology and the ability to minimize the occurrence of defects in the future have been studied. An analysis of the international experience of the educational process of relevant specialists in the field. The content of training for 3D printing specialists has been developed. The experience of using 3D-technologies is described and the list of recommendations for elimination of defects during production of products by means of additive technologies is made. The recommendations will be useful not only for beginners, but also for experienced professionals in additive technologies. The need to study such experience is the main condition for the development of enterprises in Ukraine that plan to automate their own production. A 3D printing engineer must know the basics of economics and marketing, because his responsibilities include optimizing workflows to reduce the cost and speed up printing. Therefore, the knowledge gained from practical experience presented and in building for learning 3D printing engineers by the authors will be important.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to actually implement and verify whether welding defects can be detected in real time by utilizing deep learning AI solutions in the welding process of electric vehicle hairpin winding motors. Methods: AI's function and technological elements using synthetic neural network were applied to existing electric vehicle hairpin winding motor laser welding process by making special hardware for detecting electric vehicle hairpin motor laser welding defect. Results: As a result of the test applied to the welding process of the electric vehicle hairpin winding motor, it was confirmed that defects in the welding part were detected in real time. The accuracy of detection of welds was achieved at 0.99 based on mAP@95, and the accuracy of detection of defective parts was 1.18 based on FB-Score 1.5, which fell short of the target, so it will be supplemented by introducing additional lighting and camera settings and enhancement techniques in the future. Conclusion: This study is significant in that it improves the welding quality of hairpin winding motors of electric vehicles by applying domestic artificial intelligence solutions to laser welding operations of hairpin winding motors of electric vehicles. Defects of a manufacturing line can be corrected immediately through automatic welding inspection after laser welding of an electric vehicle hairpin winding motor, thus reducing waste throughput caused by welding failure in the final stage, reducing input costs and increasing product production.
Despite recent advances in electrical switch architectures, the practical switch performance is limited by both the technological and physical constraints of electrical device and wiring. Though an optical switch can have good features, optical devices are of poor quality. Therefore, we propose and study the switching architecture based on free-space optical interconnections and electrical logic devices. And an exchanging method using packets with a parallel form is introduced to solves the blocking problem of the switch that resulted from switching packets with a serial form. The free-space optical interconnections overcome the defects of electrical switch, such as, the complex connections of the wires. The proposed and demonstrated switch is nonblocking, simple and high performable. Other attractive features of the proposed switch include the guarantee of first-in first-out packet sequence. In this thesis, we also discuss the performance of proposed switch and show the experimental results of the 4$\times$4 switch.
During the last 10 years, there have been major technological achievements in pediatric interventional cardiology. In addition, there have been several advances in cardiac imaging, especially in 3-dimensional imaging of echocardiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and cineangiography. Therefore, more types of congenital heart diseases can be treated in the cardiac catheter laboratory today than ever before. Furthermore, lesions previously considered resistant to interventional therapies can now be managed with high success rates. The hybrid approach has enabled the overcoming of limitations inherent to percutaneous access, expanding the application of endovascular therapies as adjunct to surgical interventions to improve patient outcomes and minimize invasiveness. Percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation has become a successful alternative therapy. However, most of the current recommendations about pediatric cardiac interventions (including class I recommendations) refer to off-label use of devices, because it is difficult to study the safety and efficacy of catheterization and transcatheter therapy in pediatric cardiac patients. This difficulty arises from the challenge of identifying a control population and the relatively small number of pediatric patients with congenital heart disease. Nevertheless, the pediatric interventional cardiology community has continued to develop less invasive solutions for congenital heart defects to minimize the need for open heart surgery and optimize overall outcomes. In this review, various interventional procedures in patients with congenital heart disease are explored.
In the examination of Steam Generator (SG) tube in Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) Eddy Current Testing (ECT) probes play an Important role in detecting the defects. Bobbin probe and Rotating Pancake Coil (RPC) probe is usually used for the inspection of SG tube. Bobbin probe is good at high speed inspection, but ability of detection of circumferential defect is very weak. On the contrary RPC probe, which moves for inspection in the direction of axial and circumferential simultaneously, has very slow inspection speed, but it was excellent detection capability fur small cracks, which is hardly detected by bobbin probe. Many examinations of SG tube examination of NPP are achieved during short period. Therefore, solution about this must develop probe of new form for examination performance and examination time shortening of other probe. In this paper, analyzed technological present condition of Bob-bin probe and RPC probe been using in Nondestructive Testing (NDT) for SG tube defect detection and Appeared about background theory and view of developed probe newly.
Conjugated polymers have attracted much scientific and technological research interest during the past few decades because of their potential use such as polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs).1,2 Particularly, lots of phenylene-based polymers such as polyfluorene and its derivatives have been synthesized because of their high photoluminescence quantum efficiencies and thermal stabilities. However, troublesome long wavelength emission in polymer film of polyfluorenes on heating during device formation or operation has been the crucial problem for practical applications. The source of the long wavelength emission was initially believed to be solely due to excimer emission as a result of polymer aggregation. It has also recently been correlated with emissions from ketonic defects in the fluorene units. Many efforts have been made to reduce the tendency to red-shifted emission. Here, we report for the first time the design and synthesis of novel 9,9-spiro bifluornene-based polymers containing heteroatoms such as N, S in its molecular skeleton. Especially, the 9,9-spiro bifluornene-based polymers containing N atom showed stable blue electroluminescence, which did not show spectral change upon thermal annealing.
