Systematization Design of Linear Actuator by using CAE System

  • In this paper, we introduce the design method using CAE(Computer Aided Engineering) which is profitable in the compatibility and standardization of the developed product, and the reduction of construction time and price to develop and design a machine equipment. Particularly, we select the standard model to design or develop from the large machinery to the super precision one, extract the peculiar characters of the model by the close analysis on the physical and technical part, the experiment for the characteristics of objective dimensions by analogical mathematical analysis for previous results, and can induce the design model demanded by user investigating optimal data in the design previous. We present the analogical algorithms and process method of design factors and restriction factors in the systematization design with computer. Then we analyze step functions for each systematization equipment and induce the process of technical data with actuator model.

  • The brake pedal is one of the most important parts for controlling the speed of the vehicle. Incorrect design of the brake pedal can place the driver in danger. CAE is being done for weight reduction to improve the safety of the driver and the vehicle performance and research is performed to improve the accuracy of analysis. The accuracy of the experimental and analysis values in regard to the stiffness of brake pedals, however, is still poor. Therefore, the aim of this study is to present appropriate analysis conditions based on the factors that influence the analysis in order to obtain accurate analysis results.

  • The reliability of EIC(Electricity, Instrumentation and Computer) systems in hot rolling mill is very important in order to maintain stable production. Signals obtained from sensors and control system should be analyzed to monitor the condition of down coiler in hot rolling mill. We develop a monitoring system of down coiler which is composed of three parts : (1) data acquisition and MMI, (2) signal processing and analyzing, and (3) automatic data saving. Also it is designed to enable to inform users the abnormal conditions of down coiler. This developed system is expected to make it possible to reduce long downtime, secure high facility precision, and maintain high control levels.

New Method for Real-Time Analysis of Primary Stickies in ONP Recycling Process (신문지 재활용 공정의 일차 점착성 이물질 실시간 정량을 위한 새로운 방법)

  • The possibility of real time analysis about hot melt resins and pressure sensitive adhesives in newsprint stock was investigated by performing comparative tests using conventional image analysis method and real time contaminants analyzer. Based on the test results, the performance of real time contaminants analyzer in terms of detecting primary stickies in newsprint stock could be verified. Real time stickies analysis showed good precision and over-estimation of hot melt resins and under-estimation of pressure sensitive adhesives could be corrected by adapting new method. Real time analysis of primary stickies in the actual newsprint stock also showed good correlation with conventional image analysis and the performance of real time contaminants analyzer could be verified again. Adjustment of the contrast sensitivity of real time contaminants analyzer was enough to set the proper monitoring conditions for primary stickies in newsprint stock.

  • One of the main drawbacks of wood fibers based composite materials are their tendency to swell due to moisture uptake in wet and moist environments. The main contribution to the hygroexpansion usually comes from the hydrophilic wood fibers. Recent trend toward the high speed printing, copying, and precision converting precesses demands a high level of dimensional stability under various environmental conditions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the dimensional stability of softwood bleached kraft pulp handsheets depending on wet pressing conditions. By increasing the number of wet pressing, dimensional stability was decreased because of increased fiber-to-fiber bonding. Hygroexpansion of handsheets had a linear relationship with the relative bonded area and equilibrium moisture contents. Dip elongation was decreased when the number of wet pressing was increased because of increased fiber-to-fiber bonding to resist low load in water.

Development of a English Vocabulary Context-Learning Agent based on Smartphone (스마트폰 기반 영어 어휘 상황학습 에이전트 개발)

  • Recently, mobile application for english vocabulary learning is being developed actively. However, most mobile English vocabulary learning applications did not effectively connected with the technical advantages of mobile learning. Also,the study of mobile english vocabulary learning app are still insufficient. Therefore, this paper development a english vocabulary context-learning Agent that can practice context learning more reasonably using a location-based service, a character recognition technology and augmented reality technology based on smart phones. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed agent, we have measured the precision and usability. As results of experiments, the precision of learning vocabulary is 89% and 'Match between system and the real world', 'User control and freedom', 'Recognition rather than recall', 'Aesthetic and minimalist design' appeared to be respectively 3.91, 3.80, 3.85, 4.01 in evaluation of usability. It were obtained significant results.

  • This paper presents the improvement of the EC-2 and EHE-08 shear strength formulations for concrete beams with shear reinforcement. The employed method is based on the genetic programming (GP) technique, which is configured to generate symbolic regression from a set of experimental data by considering the interactions among precision, accuracy, safety and simplicity. The size effect and the influence of the amount of shear reinforcement are examined. To develop and verify the models, 257 experimental tests on concrete beams from the literature are used. Three expressions of considerable simplicity, which significantly improve the shear strength prediction with respect to the formulations of the different studied codes, are proposed.

  • The tractor is the most important machine for farming keeping probably this position also for feeding the future fast growing world population. Band width of power and functions continues to increase worldwide, examples are given. Regarding the high developed countries, general farming demands as well as precision farming issues require closed loop control principles for the system "driver-tractor-implement". Progress in information technologies supports this trend, but comprehensive component and system developments are necessary to make the tractor ready for automatic or semi-automatic controls. The following technical highlights are, for example, discussed for Europe: hydropneumatic front axle suspensions, 50 km/h top speed, front brakes, electronically controlled multivalve diesel engines, automatic hydrostatic power split CVTs, load sensing hydraulics with proportional valves, improved cab and working places with "operations by wire" and more electronics on board than ever before.

  • This paper reports the size classification of nanoparticles as well as electrical tuning techniques for the cut-off diameter and collection efficiency. Classifying particles < 100 nm in diameter is quite a technical challenge using a virtual impactor with the cut-off diameter being determined geometrically. However, the proposed virtual impactor can classify particles <100 nm and tune the cut-off diameter by electrically accelerating the particles. The cut-off diameter of the proposed device was tuned from 15 to 50nm.

A Study on the Creep Characteristics of Solder of 63 Sn-37Pb (63Sn-37Pb 땜납의 크리프 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The initiation and the propagation of solder joint crack depend on its environmental conditions, such as high temperature creep and thermal fatigue. Creep is known to be the most important factor for the mechanical failure of solder joints in micro-electronic components and micro-systems. This is mainly caused by the different thermal expansion coefficients of the materials used in the micro-electronic packages. To determine the reliability of solder joints and consequently the electronic components, the characterization of the creep behavior of this group of materials is crucial. This paper is to apply the theory of creep into solder joints and to provide related technical information needed for evaluation of reliability of solder joint to failure. 63Sn-37Pb solder was used in this study. This paper experimentally shows a way to enhance the reliability of solder joints.
