  • This paper diagnose subjects and measures the learning ability of students based on the goal of developing an assessment tool for education productivity based on multi-aspect evaluation conducted by ICEE at Honam University. Furthermore, develop an assessment tool for education productivity that provides a motive to bring detailed improvements in teaching methods through the diagnosis. In addition, a method for compensating the issues and improving the quality of subject is suggested to develop learning ability of students through applying the assessment tool. An integrated operated system of CQI is desired to be built along with quality improvement of education through measuring academic quality by studying the methods for enhancing academic and learning ability achievement from analysis of the curriculum provided in the "ABEEK program". Through this study the current state of education productivity is presented through analyzing the difference between students who participated in the "ABEEK program" and who did not participate, and operating a comparison between the student's comprehension on their majors and liberal arts by the multi-aspect evaluation that has been conducted for 2 years.

  • The main purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the standardized patient method in teaching catherization skills, communication skills and students' learning motivation in undergraduate nursing students. The study employed a quasi-experimental method using a non-equivalent control group post-test design. Data were collected over 2 years from August 2000 to September 2001 with 75 sophomore student nurses in one baccaleureate program. The results are summarized as follows ; The scores in catheterization skills and communication skills were statistically significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group. Learning motivation score were also statistically significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group. In conclusion, this study suggests that a standardized patients managed instruction which emphasize authenticity and contex-tualization is very effective in teaching nursing students, the mastery and application of nursing skills, and the utilizing therapeutic communication skills. It is recommended that more standardized patients cases be developed for wider areas of nursing education and this study be replicated with more students using a longitudinal design.

  • The purpose of this paper was to design and implement effective learning model for internet ethics education, following the learning principle and procedure of PBL(Problem-Based Learning) which is one of the constructivism teaching-learning theories(, and to apply it). In this learning model, online learning and face-to-face classes were systematically combined for achieving the teaching-learning goals and the main module for online learning run on Moodle, an open source LMS(Learning Management System). It is possible for learner to participate actively in creation of micro-contents and reorganize contents using various SNS(Social Network Service). The learner can achieve the learner-oriented learning and select micro-contents in order to reorganize the personalized learning contents to take advantage of SNS among learners. To examine educational effectiveness of the proposed learning model, an experimental study was conducted through the education content and method to the subjects of two classes in the second-grade of university located in OO city. 60 students(treatment group=30, control group=30) participated in the experiment. The result statistically verified that the proposed learning method is more effective in cultivating consciousness of internet ethics than the face-to-face PBL learning method. The results of this paper also showed that a lecture using blended learning is efficient in achieving learning performance and that learners responded positively(, which are indicating that the higher effectiveness of learning would be expected) by forming connectedness among learners using SNS. The results of this paper showed that a lecture using blended learning is effectiveness in achieving learning performance and that learners responded positively, which are indicating that the higher effectiveness of learning would be expected by forming connectedness among learners using SNS.

  • Reading abilities are the key for students' problem-solving, self-directed learning and lifelong competency. Reading to learn is usually created through resources-based learning or inquiry-based learning. This study shows a integrated cross-curriculum approach as a alternative method of the reading to learn and it is completed In collaboration with classroom teachers. In this study especially, the model for reading-based information problem solving is introduced as a specific learning strategy of a integrated cross-curriculum and team-teaching.

  • Companies want universities to produce graduates with creativity and problem-solving skills, and for this reason universities have extended engineering design education, including in the field of architectural engineering. This paper investigates an engineering design class in the Department of Architectural Engineering, J University. The class was taught in 2010 and 2011using an Action Learning (AL) teaching-learning strategy. The students responded that the level of participation and satisfaction was high in the Action Learning classes, and role allocation or responsibility and communication of the project teams were very effective. But it was also found that as Action Learning is such a new method for students of engineering design, an orientation session that describes what to do and what to prepare should be given before the class starts.

  • This study found that the use of the metaverse enabled two-way communication online, regardless of time and place, making it possible to achieve teaching and learning goals. As applied subject (Occupational ethics in science and engineering) that allow for curriculum activities using the metaverse, team activities, and Problem Based Learning (PBL) selected. This study selected the teaching method that combines team activities of in-class and metaverse depending on the team projects and applies them appropriately according to the class procedure. Basic theoretical content learning and team activities related to the class content were conducted during class time. Also In Gathertown, team projects were carried out through team activities. As a result, this study confirmed that the PBL-subjects curriculum are definitely possible through the progress of the metaverse activities. If the educational environment for metaverse activities and the instructor's preparation and participation are supported, a very high learning effect is expected.

  • The purpose of the study is to suggest a standardized teaching-learning model as a method for strengthening the practical effect of the information ethic education for the adolescent, which is practiced in schools as the inter-disciplinary way. A survey was put to teachers and their needs are analyzed. At the same time, in order to draw the practical teaching-learning model, the teaching examples were collected for contesting. Through this process, a bottom-up approach which tries to analyze the actual class examples and generalizes them, the teaching-learning model has been suggested. As a result, another survey was conducted for the investigation of the efficacy of the model between beneficiary group and comparison group. The results are as followings; the experiment group showed a higher index in regard with such items as Information Culture Index, Lesson Satisfaction Degree, and Practice Will than Comparison Group, and the differences are statistically significant. According to the results of the analysis.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present a specific set of home teaching methods in hopes to prevent slow learner of the elementary mathematics. This paper deals with the number and operations, one of five topics in the elementary mathematics A survey of two hundred elementary school teachers was made to see the teacher's opinions of the role of home studying and to concretize the contents of the research topics. There were asked which is the most essential contents for the concrete loaming and which is the most difficult monad that might cause slow leaner. And those were found to be; counting, and arithmetic operations(addition and subtraction) of one or two-digit numbers and multiplication and their concepts representations and operations(addition and subtraction) of fractions. The home teaching methods are based on the situated learning about problem solving in real life situations and on the active teaming which induces children's participation in the process of teaching and learning. Those activities in teaching each contents are designed to deal with real objects and situations. Most teaching methods are presented in the order of school curriculum. To teach the concepts of numbers and the place value, useful activities using manipulative materials (Base ten blocks, Unifix, etc.) or real objects are also proposed. Natural number's operations such as addition, subtraction and multiplication are subdivided into small steps depending upon current curriculum, then for understanding of operational meaning and generalization, games and activities related to the calculation of changes are suggested. For fractions, this paper suggest 10 learning steps, say equivalent partition, fractional pattern, fractional size, relationship between the mixed fractions and the improper fraction, identifying fractions on the number line, 1 as a unit, discrete view point of fractions, comparison of fractional sizes, addition and subtraction, quantitative concepts. This research basically centers on the informal activities of kids under the real-life situation because such experiences are believed to be useful to prevent slow learner. All activities and learnings in this paper assume children's active participation and we believe that such active and informal learning would be more effective for learning transfer and generalization.
