The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual conditions, satisfaction towards, and effects of children's cooking activity programs held at children's cooking schools, which have recently been gaining interest as an effective integrated educational method. Also, based on the results, the study provides information on good teaching-learning methods, which can be applied to kindergarten and elementary schools. The results of the evaluation showed that 84.1% of the respondents were satisfied with the educational aspects of the programs. People were most satisfied with the teachers' "teaching ability", and were least satisfied with "the educational fees". The satisfaction scores for the children's cooking programs were higher when they were performed in a school class environment as compared to a cultural center environment, and children who had participated for more than 12 months were more satisfied than those who had only participated 1 to 3 months. Quantitatively, of the 24 measured evaluation categories grouped into 6 fields that measured the effects of participation in the cooking programs, the greatest effects were found on the children's self-confidence and sense of achievement in the social emotion field, and the lowest effect was found on their writing ability in the language field. In addition, scores were higher when the cooking activities were performed in a private cooking school environment as compared to a cultural center environment. Scores were also higher when the educational program lasted 7 to 9 months as compared to only 1 to 3 months.

Objectives: This study aimed to verify the effect on students' competency and self-directed capacity after a capstone design teaching method with community dental hygiene class. Methods: The study participants were 34 dental hygiene students taking a 4-year community dental hygiene course at a university located in City C. The research tool consisted of 52 questions on major competency and 20 questions on self-directed capacity. Results: After the capstone design class, overall dental hygienists' competency increased (p<0.05), and competencies of clinical dental hygiene and community health promotion showed a high increase (p<0.001). As a result of analyzing the increase in dental hygienists' competency according to self-directed learning ability, the group with low self-directed capacity showed high improvement in clinical dental hygiene competency and community oral health promotion competency. Conclusions: This study confirmed that the capstone design course in community dental hygiene improved students' competency and self-directed capacity, and suggests that it is an excellent teaching method for training competencies required for future society.

This study was conducted to develop the internet based Nursing Informatics educational program. This program is consisted of 14 weeks (2 credit, 1 semester) course. Classes include, 'Understanding of Nursing Informatics'. 'Basic computing technologies', 'Basic web page building', 'Navigating Healthcare related Information', 'Nursing Informatics-Practice, Education, Research', 'Issues in Nursing Informatics'. After finishing the course, students' satisfaction about this program was very high and positive. The results suggest that this program is useful to the education of Nursing Informatics and can be used as an alternative teaching method which does restrict time and place in Nursing Education in a newly changing era.

IT technology based projects was conducted to implement education on producing creative ideas through on-line education and grasp thinking disposition of students in terms of creativity education efficiency. The differences in idea creation among students according to thinking dispositions were analyzed through qualitative evaluation and quantitative evaluation of project and its result was drawn. The purpose of this study was to help cultivate a man of ability who will make a great contribution to knowledge information society by proposing education model based on new method of teaching and learning.

The purpose of this study is to investigate American traditional values and American culture in English education. The understanding of American culture in English education requires the analysis of world changes in the global age. The history of American English, the formation of American society, and the background of natural environment are described in relation to the traditional American values of the earliest settlers, such as multi-culture, individual freedom, frontier heritage in the West, equality of opportunity and wealth and material abundance. Hence the case studies of students' project presentations on the American culture in English education exemplify the reflection of American traditional values in the current American life and society. It is concluded that project-based method with regard to cultural studies in English education reveals very positive learning effects by driving students' interests and active participation through the student-centered, creative, and cooperative project presentations.

초등학생 프로그래밍 교육은 프로그래밍 활동을 통해 논리적 사고력과 문제 해결력을 신장시키는 데 의의를 두고 다양한 프로그래밍 교육 방법과 학습 시스템을 개발하려는 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 프로그래밍 교육의 목표가 프로그래밍적 사고력 함양이라면 프로그래밍적 사고를 언어로 표현하여 실제로 프로그램을 작성할 수 있는 프로그래밍 언어 사용 능력 함양도 필요하다. 초등학생 프로그래밍 언어 학습은 특정 언어의 문법적 설명과 해석을 지양하고 프로그래밍 언어에 대한 올바른 개념 이해와 활용을 통해 프로그램을 구현하는데 필요한 기초 소양 능력 함양에 중점을 두어야 한다. 따라서 초등학생을 위한 프로그래밍 언어 교육 방법의 체계화에 기여할 수 있는 하나의 모델로서, 프로그래밍 언어의 기본적인 개념 중 함수 개념을 효과적으로 지도할 수 있는 지도 원리와 학습 모형을 연구하였고, 함수가 가진 특성 즉 함수적 사고과정을 이용하여 프로그래밍 언어 기술 능력과 논리적 사고력 및 문제해결력의 고등인지기술 능력을 함께 신장시킬 수 있는 지도 방법을 제안하고자 한다.

The phonetic study of English language in Japan is a matter of great importance, a problem of major concern and a. vital subject The special difficulties which the Japanese college students have in learning English lie in the field of prosodic features of English, such as, syllable, rhythm, stress, intonation, prominence, of.. These difficulties have made Japanese students' pronunciation relatively monotonous or mora(ness). In my presentation, the specific phonetic features of Japanese language first will be discussed and clarified. And then the effective teaching method of intonation to improve Japanese students' pronunciation will be suggested. Finally, the oral dialogue with intonation analysis and transcription in the class room will be demonstrated to highlight the presentation.

In this paper, we attempted to find out the meaning of several means and inequalities, their relationships and proposed the effective ways to teach them in college mathematics classes. That is, we introduced 8 proofs of arithmetic-geometric mean equality to explain the fact that there exist diverse ways of proof. The students learned the diverseproof-methods and applied them to other theorems and projects. From this, we found out that the attempt to develop the students' logical thinking ability by encouraging them to find out diverse solutions of a problem could be a very effective education method in college mathematics classes.

The values and methods of mathematics education which mathematics teachers tried to impart to their students have varied historically according to the situations of each institution. The cases of the mathematics education in Cambridge University and University College, London show that the peculiar meanings or values of mathematics education were transmitted on students and the methods or focus of the teaching were uniquely determined under the influences of university examinations or conditions of students. In specific, the characteristic education of Augustus De Morgan who studied in Cambridge University and then taught in University College, London reveals better the different institutional contexts. In this paper, I suggest mathematics teachers reconsider mathematics learning motivations on their institutional contexts.
