  • Safety is paramount for construction industry throughout the world. Human errors which contribute to more than half of construction accidents, could be proactively prevented through effective education and training methods. Although Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) have gained much attention in various disciplines, few studies applied them for construction safety education. This research presents a new approach in construction safety education by utilizing VR and AR. The vision of aligning teaching & learning strategies is examined in order to ensure the potential benefits of the new method. This innovative approach shifts safety education from "Listen, and I will forget. See, and I may remember" towards "Practice, and I understand".

  • I identified constructivism's teaching-learning theory as a modern ideal method of education on this paper. And I explained how school media center relate with constructivism on educational method and educational environment. I suggested what is the points of development of school media center under the educational method of constructivism. And then by doing so I strived for contribution to the solution of problems of school education in Korea.

  • In this study, we investigated the process of constructing the geometrical solutions to quadratic equation, through proportions between lengths of similar triangles in a dynamic environment. To do this, we provided one task to 4 ninth grades students and observed the process of the students' activities and strategies. As a result of this pilot lesson study, our research shows the advantage and possibility of geometrical method in learning and teaching quadratic equation.

  • Activities in fields based on internet virtual reality are flourishing. Education field is not an exception, and has reached the stage of establishing a cyber university after showing its activity in the developing field of distance learning. Although some of the architectural education fields have been following this trend, the education field of architectural design has not been developed as wildly because there have been a lot of difficulties in expressing three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional web. However, it has become possible to actualize the remote lecture based on internet in the education field of architectural design through the latest developments in internet technology. The purpose of this research is to be a basis for developing a teaching method for architectural design by taking advantage of the advanced in virtual reality technology on the internet.

  • In this paper, current research papers on Physics Problem Solving were analyzed according to the types of research purpose, method, subject and content of Physics, by using 3 Proceedings and 4 kinds of Journal, that is, the International Workshop(1983, Paris, France) and Conference (1983, Utrecht, The Netherlands) and Seminar(1987, Cornell University, U. S. A.) on Physics Education, and Journal of Research in Science Teaching (1984-1990) and Science Education (1986-1990). and Inter national Journal of Science Education(l987-1988) and Cognitive Science(1989-1990). There were 98 research papers on Problem Solving and among them 37 papers on Physics Problem Solving were selected for analyzing. The results of analysis are as follows; 1) The studies on Model of Novice Student were 22(59%), And those on Model of Desired Preformance, on Model of learning and on Model of Teaching were all much the same. 2) The theoretical studies were 10(27%), and the experimental ones 27(73%). Among the experimental studies, there were 16(59%) by using the written test, and 7(26%) by using the thinking aloud method. 3) The studies about university students as subjects were 20(54%). Probably, it seems the reason that most of researchers on Physics Problem Solving were professors of university or graduate students. 4) Among the various fields of Physics, the studies on Mechanics were 24(63%) and those on E1ectromagnetics 6(16%). or graduate students.

  • Many elementary school students have misconception related to dissolution and solution. Moreover, they usually fail to apply the results of the experiments in their science classes to their everyday life, and also have low science achievement. Therefore, they are not interested in science, and sometimes some of them are even afraid of it. The purposes of this study is to investigate the effects of concept mapping activity on science achievement and attitude. In addition, this study also aims at presenting the teaching and learning method of utilizing concept maps in order to have the students form correct concepts. The subjects were classified into two groups one group is composed of thirty-seven students (experimental group) who were participated in concept mapping activity, and the other is composed of thirty-eight students (comparison group) who were participated in the traditional teaching method. The major findings of this study are as follows: First, the concept mapping activity has a positive effect on improving students' science achievement. Second, the classes using concept maps have a good influence on forming students' science attitude. Third, the concept mapping activity is more effective in improving science achievement of mid and low level students. In conclusion, the loaming by concept mapping activity positively influence students' science achievement and attitude. Particularly for the students in mid and high levels, the effect is more remarkable.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of higher grades in elementary the science process skill and Academic Achievement by IIM. To verify research problem, the subject of this study were five-grade students selected from One classes of an elementary school located in Ulsan : the experimental group is composed of thirty-four students who were participated in IIM teaching model situation. During six weeks, the IIM learning-based instruction was executed in th experimental group. Post-test showed following results: First, the experimental group showed a significant improvement in the science process skill. We look into detailly this, the experimental group showed a significant improvement in the basis science process skill. In particular, The sub-factor 'Observation', 'Measurement', 'expectation' of the science process skill effects a significant improvement. Second, the experimental group did showed a significant improvement in the Academic Achievement. In conclusion, IIM teaching model was more effective on science process skill and Academic Achievement. However, since the study has a limit on an objet of the study and the applied curriculum, the additional studies need to be conducted with an extended comparative group and curriculum.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how the Lakatos method works in the elementary teacher education program. Elementary preservice teachers were given a task in which they examined the Pick's theorem. The finding revealed that Lakatos method was usable in the elementary teacher education. They produced initial conjecture and found counterexamples, and finally made improved conjectures. These experience encourage them to change their belief of teaching and learning mathematics and to find alternative ways of teaching mathematics.

  • Digital Technology actively utilized in all spheres by rapid changes in information and knowledge demands transformations not only in the sociocultural and educational spheres but also specifically in the field of arts education. Digital Technology becomes a challenging factor for the field of arts education. In this study purposed a new teaching-learning approach method in arts education, called "Music Technology-Based Learning"(hereafter, MTBL), which is to, first, take interdisciplinary approaches combining various subjects in the field of arts education. In the case study was conducted to examine the educational effects of the MTBL approach to the liberal arts course in university: mind maps derived from 2 sessions (pre-class and post-class), evaluation sheets regarding self-directed learning and in-depth interviews with ten voluntary learners after the class were used as methods for data collection. The result of case study shows positive changes in the terms of the degrees of emotional sensibilities of the learners. Moreover, the research confirmed the potential of MTBL as a new teaching and learning methodology in art education.

  • The present study is a convergence study aimed at investigating the effects of the blended learning method on self-directed learning and learning satisfaction of nursing students. A nonequivalent control group was designed to conduct a pre-post test for this study. The participants were assigned to the experimental(n=70) or control group(n=68). Data was analyzed using ${\chi}^2$-test, independent t-tset, and ANCOVA. The results of this study showed that self-directed learning(F=4.122, p=.044), learning satisfaction (F=4.714, p=.032) were significantly higher in the experimental group with blended learning applied than in the control group that received lecture courses for the subject adult health nursing. In other words, this study found that the blended learning method, which was designed to enable students to learn given tasks on their own outside teaching-centered lectures, can enhance the learning ability of nursing students. The results of this study indicate the need to conduct repeated studies regarding blended learning in various subjects and to develop content considering self-directed learning and learning satisfaction of learners.
