  • The effects of a nutritional education program for first grade middle school students were evaluated from August to December, 2006. The study subjects were 82 boys and 90 girls, residing in Gwangju, Korea. To assess the effects of the nutritional education program, pre- and post-questionnaires examining nutritional knowledge, dietary attitudes, and dietary habits were developed. Paired t-test and repeated measures ANOVA were used to evaluate the effects of the nutritional education program. In the general subject, the main after-school activities were studying, watching TV, and using computer (85.5%), and sports (9.3%), suggesting their low physical activity. Parents (46.5%) were indicated as the source of nutritional education rather than teachers (13.4%). Twenty-five percent of girl students had diet experience of skipping meals (54.6%), suggesting the need of proper nutritional education for adolescents' health care. In dietary attitudes, both genders showed some improvement of recognition after education. In the changes in dietary habits, both genders had a significant effect on 'three meals a day, eating breakfast, and regular meal' after education. After education, the rate of having breakfast everyday increased from 52.4% to 65.9% for boys and from 33.3%to 57.8% for girls. In the changes in nutritional knowledge, the appreciation of the importance of school meals increased in both genders from 50.6% to 80.8% after education. The nutritional knowledge, scores of regular eating and well-mannered eating increased in both genders regardless of the students' characteristics. The study results revealed that this education provided an important motivation to improve basic nutritional knowledge and dietary habit. It is recommended to develop systematic and various educational programs and learning materials tailored to subjects before nutritional education.

  • It has been almost 20 years since Korea has started the research of school facilities, but there has not been any form of organized information or studies done about such a trend of the research. In this respect, this research places its focus on categorizing 44 policy studies initiated and proceeded by different organizations for last twenty years(1983-2004) and 186 volumes of the research about education facility plans and projects released by journal of Architectural Institute of Korea and journal of Korean Institute of Educational Facilities in 17 subjects of this study. It also concentrates on organizing data based on different levels of schools and periods of time as well as understanding the trend. The result of this research is followings. Considering every volume of the paper and the subjects that have previously been treated in those papers, the trend of this study is divided into the first stage of research period(1983-1993), the second stage of research period(1994-2001), and the third stage of research period(2002-present). Of all the papers, there has been the most number of papers objecting elementary schools(110 volumes, 56.1%), and most of them focused on space formation, size, and the present situation of utilization of each classroom in elementary schools. In the meantime, the studies about educational information, application of the media, space formation and size under teachers'consent, two-dimension types, a design of outdoor space(including gardens), the present situation of utilization, remodeling of school facilities, an evaluation of space and recognition-awareness analysis have been mainly done since 1995. Such a result mentioned above provides a sense of understanding about a level of studies about education facilities in our country, and as a basic source for future guidelines of studies and contents, in my personal opinion, it contains a high level of application.

Lately, however, the students using SNS environment hardly consider the issues regarding copyright, so this is raising even legal issues, too. Therefore, this study has examined the degree of recognition of undergraduates on copyright and extracted the general cases of copyright which undergraduates may face in the actual class or everyday life. The cases extracted are expressed in the rules of "If ~ Then", stored in the knowledge base of rules in the rule-based system, and realized as the mobile web. And regarding the copyright-related problems inputted by the students, similar rules are drawn from the knowledge base of rules so that they can solve copyright-related problems anytime, anywhere with the mobile web in a self-directed way.

Results were as follows: First, exploratory factor analysis resulted in 40 items composed of 6 factors (director's childcare center management system, social recognition, working environment and welfare, workload and time management, relationship with co-workers, relationship with parents). Second, the confirmatory factor analysis supported a 6 factor structure by resulting over appropriate level of goodness of fit. Third, inter-corelation coefficients among 6 factors were significant level(r = .10~.70). Fourth, the reli ability level of 6 factors by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ were high(.84~.95.). Finally, concurrent validity levels with Childhood Job Satisfaction Survey(Jorde-Bloom, 1989) and the Satisfaction with Life Scale(Diener et al., 1985) were r = .07~.84 and .19~.46, respectively.

  • Nowadays, many interface devices or training systems have been developed with recent developments in IT technology but only a few training systems for developmentally disabled people have been introduced. In this paper, we present a real-time, interactional and situational training system based on augmented reality in order to improve cognitive capability and adaptive ability in the daily life of developmentally disabled people. Our system is specifically based on serving food in restaurants. This augmented reality based system provides them to experience various different situations safely and take the training session as much as they want under any circumstances. When they use our system, they are able to look around with Head Mounted Display(HMD) and take training sessions easily based on various situational scenarios. After experimenting on our system for 3 months, we found they had no aversion about wearing HMD and learned quicker as they practiced over and over and improved their cognitive capability and adaptive ability. We also got a positive feedback that it had an excellent educational value from teachers in special-education-school.
