This study aims to look into students' and teachers' recognition about learning with a humanoid robot and seek for a policy implication for the direction of education using humanoid robot. To achieve this goal, a survey with elementary school students and teachers was used as the method of analysis. The main results are as follows: There was a difference in the recognition of the teachers and the students regarding the most effective subject through the use of humanoid robot. While the students consider Physical Education as the major subject, the teachers consider Science as the one. The students recognize that the use of humanoid is most effective in helping their learning while the teachers recognize that it is most effective in helping their teaching. As an expected positive effect, both of them choose an increase in interest in learning as the main effect of the use of humanoid robot, but the students, unlike the teachers, consider the improvement of their academic achievement as its main effect as well. These results show differences in the recognition of the use of humanoid between the teachers and the students, and in addition, confirm the difference between them depending on their background.

Objectives : The current study was conducted in order to investigate teachers' recognition of school bullying using a nationwide database of adolescents in middle and high school in Korea. Methods : Students in the 7th to 12th grades at 23 secondary schools participated in the current study during the fall of 2009. Subjects completed the self-report form of the Adolescent Mental Health and Problem Behavior Screening Questionnaire-II (AMPQ-II) and Symptom Checklist-90 Revised (SCL-90-R). In addition, relevant teachers used the teachers' rating scale of the AMPQ-II to report their students' status. Differences in the number of bullied students between teachers' recognition and students' report were explored. Results : A total of 2270 subjects provided relevant responses to the questionnaire. While the one-month prevalence of victimization according to students' self-reports was 28.9%, the recognized prevalence by teachers was only 10.6%. For prediction of the presence of school bullying according to students' self reports on the AMPQ-II, item 7 of the teachers' report on the AMPQ-II showed a sensitivity of 16%, a specificity of 92%, a positive predictability of 44%, a negative predictability of 72%, a false positive rate of 8%, a false negative rate of 84%, and an accuracy of 69%, respectively. No significant differences in subscores of students' self reports of the AMPQ-II and SCL-90-R were observed between bullied students who were recognized by teachers and those who were not recognized. In stepwise discriminant analysis, classification of teachers' item 2 and item 7 on the AMPQ-II with respect to school bullying according to students' reports showed an accuracy of 63.4%. Using this model, 75.2% of non-victimized subjects were classified correctly, while only 35.2% of victimized subjects were classified correctly. Conclusion : Despite the high prevalence in Korea, teachers' recognition of school violence among their students remains low. Pre-professional and continuing education to improve teachers' understanding of school bullying and knowledge of effective classroom-based prevention activities should be encouraged.
This study was aimed at knowing the recognition of teachers' nutrition knowledge and nutrition education at day-care centers in Seong-nam. Teachers were all female, most of whom were in the 20, and their careers were less than 3 years. And $76.2\%$ of the teachers graduated from high school and junior college. The score of the nutrition knowledge was average $14.3\pm2.2$ (out of 20). It shows that they are lack of general information of nutrition. As the teachers had higher education, they scored higher nutrition knowledge levels (p < 0.01). It also says that there was meaningful interrelationship between the nutrition knowledge and the number of children they had (p < 0.05). $93\%$ of the teachers said that nutrition education should be given when children are three years old, at least and most of the teachers thought that nutrition education is necessary and should be taught in a separate course. $50.4\%$ of the teachers thought that nutrition education for early childhood should be taught by a nutritionist, but $35.2\%$ of them thought that the teachers themselves should be in charge of it. About $60\%$ of the teachers thought that 'Cooking Activity for Early Childhood' course should be established and it is desirable that the nutrition education should be in the area of cooking activity for childhood at day-care centers. The teachers thought that dietary habit is the most important subject in nutrition education and they got more information from the internet rather than in the class related to nutrition. According to the paradigm of Neo-liberalism, the issue of ability grouping has grown more and more in education of Korea. And because of the influence of ability grouping, now ability grouping is enforcing partially in the subjects of English and Mathematics. But ability grouping is going to expand to the all subjects. So, it is very important that how teachers and students are recognize about partial ability grouping in the subjects of English and Mathematics. Because that information about partial ability grouping can guide direction for the future educational policy. The purpose of this study was to actually analyze teacher's and students' recognition of partial ability grouping in the subjects of English and Mathematics. To accomplish this purpose, 622 middles school students and 552 teachers were sampled. As a tool of investigation, questionnaires about teacher's and students' recognition of partial ability grouping had made by researcher of this study were used. And as processing of data, t-test, F-test, Scheff-test were used. The result of this study is as follow. First, teachers who are experiencing ability grouping recognized more negative about ability grouping than teachers who are not experiencing ability grouping. Second, students who have low ability recognized more negative about ability grouping than students who have high ability. Third, teachers who are experiencing ability grouping recognized more ineffective about ability grouping than teachers who are not experiencing ability grouping. Fourth, students who have low ability recognized more ineffective about ability grouping than students who have high ability.
This study was conducted with the purpose of surveying the high school and university students and culinary teachers in charge of guidance in cooking related departments to see the recognition levels of culinary practice education and to suggest improvement plans. The subjects of this research were 616 culinary high school students, 419 culinary university students, and 103 culinary teachers. The collected data was compared and analyzed by frequency and percentage. The collected data was analyzed(i. e., $X^2$ test and t-test) using SPSS 14.0(SPSS Inc, Chicago, USA). Learning demands were shown to be high and much more practice was demanded, so it is required to raise the importance of culinary arts as a subject. Manpower placement, such as practice assistant teachers and practice teachers, is necessary and more training support for teachers' professional ability expansion is required. Moreover, it is required that practices after theory study, video education, and practice demonstrations should be performed and multimedia developed. Detailed practice demonstrations should be enabled and foreign subject education should be performed. The general evaluation in which feedback is appropriately made, along with the evaluation of practice courses and results needs to be performed. Positive school life should be prepared by performing proper course education simultaneously.
The purpose of this paper is to study the present situation of the performance assessment having been introduced for recent years as a new system to measure students' mathematical power as well as their achievement in mathematics by analyzing math teachers' recognition about the assessment. The specific research questions are as follows: (1) what is the difficulty in the administrative process of the assessment\ulcorner (2) what is mathematics teachers' recognition about the assessment with respect to its nature and purpose\ulcorner (3) what is the situation of the in-service program for the newly introduced assessment\ulcorner (4) what is the administrative procedure of the assessement\ulcorner (5) what is mathematics teachers' recognition about the effectiveness of the assessemtn\ulcorner (6) What support is requried to improve the assessemt?
Objective: In order to provide basic data that can strengthen the recognition of continuity of early childhood and primary education, early childhood education and early childhood special education teachers at inclusive child care and education settings participated in this study. Methods: The researchers conducted a survey on 192 early childhood teachers and 167 early childhood special education teachers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do province. The collected data were analyzed statistically. Results: First, early childhood special education teachers were higher than early childhood teachers statistically on the prerequisite elements of continuity. Second, early childhood education teachers were higher than early childhood special education teachers statistically regarding the prerequisite educational techniques required for continuity of early childhood and primary education. In particular, early childhood teachers put more of an emphasis on learning and sociality-communication than early childhood special education teachers did. Conclusion/Implications: It is necessary that in-service education on prerequisite elements be stressed, and there be more detailed activities and education about programming and its utilization for early childhood special education teachers.
The theoretical rationale and basic materials for the improvement of the recognition on home economics teachers are suggested in this study through the close examination of the teacher’s recognition and its related variables. For this study, review of literature and questionnaire survey were performed. As the results, the following may be suggested. 1. There teachers more experienced and non-majored the home economics or those who finished professional course should be reeducated adequately for new direction of home economics education in secondary school and new curriculum. 2. The development of qualification for home economics teacher and the educational system and program for training preliminary should be try to find a solution to improve the new and positive recognition of home economics education in secondary school. 3. The institutional and environmental conditions, such as pay and welfare facilities, should be improved to satisfy home economics teacher with new view of home economics education in secondary school with their duties. 4. The systematic and concrete teaching programs for contents of improving new recognition of home economics education in secondary school, and for promoting positive self-recognition as home economics teacher, and for training the abilities of developing teaching materials and guiding practical techniques should be developed.
The purpose of this study was to understand barrier factors affecting nutrition education jobs and determining priorities according to frequency of occurrence of obstacles. Focus group interview (FGI) was conducted on 11 nutrition teachers, and the result are summarized by the phenomenological analysis method. The barriers of nutrition education consisted of three categories, seven themes, and 10 sub-themes. The three categories were divided into work burden, recognition of nutrition education, and limitations of the nutrition education environment. Recognition of nutrition education was further divided into internal recognition from nutrition teachers and individual and external recognition from students and staff. The results showed that the most frequent barrier experienced by nutrition teachers in the work burden category was heavy work loads of foodservice management, followed by irrational working environment. In addition, limitations of the nutrition education environment consisted of absence of standard curriculum and textbooks, inadequate education infrastructure, and inadequate class time. To improve this, it is necessary to reduce nutrition teacher's food service management and develop standard curriculum and educational materials for nutrition education.
A teacher evaluation system is a hot issue of educational policy these days. Many teachers have opposed teacher evaluation system, but government and many parents have agreed teacher evaluation system. And some people agree teacher evaluation system, but some people disagree teacher evaluation system. The approvers of teacher evaluation system insist that teacher evaluation system can provide the quality of instruction, satisfaction of schooling, and nation's competition capacity. But opponents of teacher evaluation system insist that teacher evaluation system can provide dissatisfaction of teachers' job, excessive competition among teachers, and the failure of educational policy. So, comprehensive studies about teacher evaluation system are needed. The purpose of this study was to investigate that elementary and secondary teachers' recognition about teacher evaluation system. The tool of this study was used questionnaire which was made by researcher of this study. This study indicates as follows. Many teachers opposed teacher evaluation system, because of deficit of validity and reliability of teacher evaluation system. Also, many teachers indicated instruction ability as the most important evaluation standard of teacher evaluation system. And many teachers predicted the dissatisfaction of teachers' job and excessive competition among teachers as a result of teacher evaluation system.
