원격교육연수원의 교육과정 운영 실태 분석 (Analysis of the Current Status of Curriculum in Distance Educational Training Institute)

  • 본 연구는 교사들에게 원격교육연수원 교육과정에 대한 종합적인 정보 제공과 원격교원연수를 활성화시키기 위한 방안을 탐색하기 위하여 수행되었다. 2007년 현재, 65개의 원격연수원이 운영 중에 있으나 원격연수원에서 운영 중인 교육과정에 대한 정보는 체계적으로 제공되지 않고 있다. 교육과정 분석을 위하여 65개 연수원 중 33개를 선정하여 직무연수 567개 과정, 자율연수 317개 과정, 기타연수 23개 과정을 선정하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 원격교원연수원에 대한 접근성 향상 필요, 둘째, 민간기관 원격교육연수원 중심의 교과목 편중 현상 극복, 셋째, 교사 역량 증진을 위한 교과목의 다양화, 넷째, 특정 교과목 편중 현상 극복, 다섯째, 기존에 운영하고 있는 교육과정에 대한 지속적인 유지보수 필요, 여섯째, 우수 교육과정 개발을 위한 정부차원의 지원 확대 등이다.

필리핀 학교교육의 실태와 특징: 산베다 학교교육을 중심으로 (A Study on the Situation and Trait of the Philippines School Education)

  • Nowaday our school education have been undergone decisive influences by the entrance and examination-oriented education system. To enter universities which belong to top classes in Korean society could be look upon the important success of school education, and it could be equaled to the quality of competent teacher(teacher's professionalism). However, the creativity and knowledge composition ability in the school education will be considered seriously in the coming of 21st century knowledge, information-oriented and globalization society. In this situation, we try to trace about the system and style of foreign school education which is unfamiliar to us, spontaneously we should explore the educational implication which affects to our school education. In this paper, we have reviewed about the present condition and the current situation of Philippines school education(San Beda College Alabang and Rizal Campus). Of course, we tried to observe the practical education activities including a curriculum, teacher, teaching and studying method and student activity. Through this trial, we tried to suggest the effective environment and methodology for the improvement in quality of our school education. Philippines school education 1) could be achieved educational ideas and goals based on the spirit of school establishment, 2) could be gained teacher's professionalism through the system of Coordinator and Prefect, 3) could be conducted learner-centered lessons by the learning method of exploration, discussion, task-resolving, 4) was able to created a pleasant school education through the development and application of a variety of educational programs.

초등학교 영어몰입교육의 문제점에 대한 고찰: 연구학교 교사의 시각에서 (Reflections on the problems with English immersion programs: Perspectives of in-service teachers at primary English immersion schools)

  • The present study has sought to explore the critical issues of English immersion education through the voices of the four elementary teachers who have recently taught at immersion programs under the guidance of Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education. The interview data with three teachers and the teaching journals of one teacher were analyzed and categorized into two emergent themes: (1) current difficulties in the immersion programs and (2) possible problems with the implementations of immersion programs in all public schools. Specifically, the first issue included teachers' inadequate teaching skills for immersion programs, accumulated learning losses, and lack of immersion class hours. The second issue included workload imposed on immersion program teachers, promotion of private education, learning losses of other subjects, and administration for show. Finally, pedagogical implications are suggested.

How Are the Novice Getting to Be the Expert? : A Preliminary Case Study on Japanese Science Teachers

  • Most of comparative studies in science teacher education so far have been conducted in terms of teacher education policy, pre- and in-service training system and curriculum, and certificate system. While such superficial information can be readily obtainable, it does not necessarily enable us to make access to reality of science teachers' professional development in respective countries, because practice in professional development among science teachers is deeply embedded into respective socio-cultural environment or climate. In order to get information on reality in science teachers' professional development, alternative approaches of research should be developed. This paper aims at pursuing an alternative way to approach reality of Japanese science teachers' professional development. An email survey of free description method with 29 in-service science teachers with a variety of years of experience in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, revealed that Japanese science teachers have developed their expertise through very close daily-based communication with their peer science teachers. At least, within their consciousness, neither formal in-service training programs, nor pre-service training programs have had much stronger effects on their professional development than such non-formal, daily-based, deep, apprenticeship-typed or in some sense, family-typed communication. The results suggest that in order to conduct meaningful comparative studies, we should take much more attention to how to make access to reality of science teachers' professional development.

Constructivism and STS Reflected in the Korean Education Programs for Secondary Science Teachers

  • This research aimed to investigate whether Korean education programs for secondary science teachers reflect constructivist perspectives. To identify how to introduce the idea of constructivism and STS into the courses of the current Korean education programs for secondary science teachers, two programs were selected: the Qualifying In-service Program held in Seoul and the pre-service programs established in the four departments of science education of the Korean National University of Education in Chungbuk. The course guidebooks, syllabi, and text materials prepared for implementation of the courses were collected and analyzed. E-mail correspondence with the program instructors who had conveyed both ideas to the trainees provided us more precise information about the characteristics of the classes, such as the total time provided the ideas and the teaching strategies used to implement the classes. The results indicated that the pre-service programs included the ideas of constructivism and STS more than did the Qualifying In-service Program. It is necessary that the courses included in the Korean in-service program, in particular the Qualifying In-service Program for secondary science teachers, have to be more focused on the constructivist perspectives.

미국 예비 유아교사의 문화다양성 경험과 신념 및 문화반응적 교수효능감간의 관계 : 문화다양성 신념의 매개효과와 교사교육 단계간 다집단 분석 (The Relations among the Experiences and Beliefs of Cultural Diversity, and the Culturally Responsive Teaching Efficacy of American Early Childhood Preservice Teachers : Mediating Effect of the Beliefs and Multi-group Analysis of Teacher Education Stages)

  • 본 연구는 미국의 예비 유아교사를 대상으로 문화다양성 경험, 문화다양성 신념 및 문화반응적 교수효능감간의 구조적 관계를 분석하고 문화다양성 신념의 매개효과를 확인하며, 그러한 관계가 교사교육의 단계에 따라 차이가 있는지를 분석하는데 연구목적을 두었다. 연구대상은 미국 남서부 5개 대학의 K학년 교사 양성과정에 재학 중인 예비 유아교사 273명이었다. 문화다양성 경험은 Schroeder(2008), 문화다양성 신념은 Pohan과 Aguilar(2001), 문화반응적 교수효능감은 Siwatu(2007)의 연구에서 사용된 일부 문항들로써 측정되었다. 구조방정식모형분석을 한 결과, 직접효과로서 문화다양성 경험이 많을수록, 직업 신념 수준이 높을수록 문화반응적 교수효능감이 높아지고, 긍정적인 문화다양성의 경험이 많을수록 개인 신념의 수준이 높아지며, 개인 신념의 수준이 높을수록 직업 신념의 수준이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 문화다양성 경험은 개인 신념을 매개로 직업 신념에 간접 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 다중집단분석 결과, 교사교육 단계에 따라서는 직업 신념과 교수효능감간 경로계수가 유의한 차이를 보였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 예비 유아교사를 위한 교사교육에서의 방안들을 제언하였다.

자유학기제 도입에 따른 영양교육의 현황 및 영양교사의 인식에 관한 예비조사연구 (Nutrition teacher's perception and current status of nutrition education for free learning semester program: a preliminary study)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the current status of nutrition education via a free learning semester program (NE). The understanding of the program, the potential difficulties, and future initiatives for NE improvement were also investigated. Methods: A total number of 161 nutrition teachers from Gwangju and Jeonnam filled in a questionnaire and participated in this survey, which was performed from July to August 2019. Results: Our results showed that 8.1% of the nutrition teachers had taught nutrition education in free learning semester programs. The most frequently implemented model was subject selection, followed by club activities. Most of the nutrition teachers comprehended the purpose of NE. The attitude of nutrition teachers to NE differed by the understanding of its purpose. Positive attitude was evident due to a better understanding of the purpose by nutrition teachers. Nutrition teachers reported the most common difficulties of NE were the lack of preparation due to the heavy workload and the lack of a standard running program. The most effective method of NE was the activity classes. The experience of practicing NE influenced the choice of contents for each operating model. Nutrition teachers that were experienced in NE conducted via free learning semester programs preferred the selected topics model, but those without experience chose the career search model. Conclusions: Although some obstacles exist, nutrition teachers had a positive attitude and perceived well the importance of NE. Therefore, the awareness for the significance of NE of nutrition teachers needs to be improved. For better NE practice, it is necessary to reduce/ manage the workload of general food service. Furthermore, the development of standard running and promotion programs, and teacher training programs should be ensured.

초등 과학수업의 다면적 분석을 중심으로 한 교사 참여형 교육프로그램이 초보교사의 수업전문성에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Teacher Participation-Oriented Education Program Centered on Multi-Faceted Analysis of Elementary Science Classes on the Class Expertise of Novice Teacher)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze The Effect of Teacher Participation-oriented Education Program (TPEP) centered on Multi-Faceted Analysis of Elementary Science Classes on the Class Expertise of novice teacher. First, in order to develop the TPEP, lectures and exploratory science classes were analyzed using imaging and eye-tracking techniques. In this study, the TPEP was developed in five stages: image analysis, eye analysis, teaching language analysis, gesture analysis, and class development. Participants directly analyzed the classes of experienced and novice teachers at each stage. The TPEP developed in this study is different from the existing teacher education program in that it reflected the human performance technology aspects. The participants analyzed actual elementary science classes in a multi-faceted way and developed better classes based on them. The results of this study are as follows. First, at the teacher training institutions and the school sites, pre-service teachers and novice teachers should be provided with various experiences in class analysis and multi-faceted analysis of their own classes. Second, through this study, we were able to identify the limitations of existing class observations and video analysis. Third, the TPEP should be developed to improve the novice teachers' class expertise. Finally, we hope that the results of this study are used as basic data in developing programs to improve teachers' class expertise in teacher training institutions and education policy institutions.

다중지능을 활용한 100대 교육과정의 학교 독서교육 프로그램 유형 분석 (An Analysis of Program Types for School Reading Education Included in the 100 Excellent Curriculum by Multiple Intelligences)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 교육과정을 기반으로 한 학교 독서교육 프로그램의 방향성을 분석하고, 학교도서관과 사서교사가 기여할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 2015 개정 교육과정이 처음 적용된 2016학년도 100대 우수 교육과정 보고서에 포함된 학교 급별 독서교육 프로그램의 유형을 다중지능을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 학교 독서교육 프로그램은 인간친화지능을 중심으로 운영되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 초등학교는 지역사회 연계 독서를 가장 많이 운영하고, 중 고등학교는 학생 독서 동아리 활동을 가장 많이 운영하였다. 언어 지능 관련 독서교육 프로그램의 경우 초등학교에서는 책읽어주기, 중학교는 문학작품으로 쓰기, 고등학교는 감상문 쓰기를 가장 많이 운영하였다. 공간 지능 관련 독서교육 프로그램의 경우 모든 학교급에서 매체제작 유형이 가장 큰 비중을 차지했다. 다만, 자연친화 지능과 관련된 독서 프로그램은 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 분석 결과를 토대로 2015 개정 교육과정하에서 학교도서관이 독서교육 프로그램 활성화를 위하여 이바지할 방안을 교육 공동체 중심지로서 교사 학생 학부모 연계 프로그램 개발, 창작 공간설치 운영, 사서교사의 프로그램 관리 및 탐구기반학습 역량 신장 측면에서 제안하였다.

과학 영재교육 대상자 선발방법으로써 교사 추천제 분석: 학생의 과학적 태도, 탐구력, 사고력, 문제 해결력, 창의성을 중심으로 (The Analysis of Teacher Recommendation on Selection Process for Scientifically Gifted Program: Focus on the Scientific Attitude, Process Skill, Logical Thinking, Creative Problem-Solving Ability and Creativity of students)

  • 과학 영재교육 대상자 선발방법으로써의 교사 추천제를 객관적으로 분석하기 위해, 과학 교사가 추천한 학생들의 과학적 태도, 탐구력, 논리적 사고력, 창의적 문제 해결력, 창의성 점수를 과학 영재원 재학생 및 일반학급 학생들의 점수와 비교하였다. 분석 결과, 과학 영재원 재학생과 교사 추천 학생은 일반 중학교 학생보다 모든 영역에서 높은 점수를 얻었으며, 과학 영재원 재학생과 교사 추천 학생 사이에는 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 이는 과학 영재학생 선발을 위해 교사 추천제를 적극적으로 활용할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.
