  • This study examines the influence of pre-service early childhood teacher's social support and adaptability to college life on teacher's efficacy. The study subjects were 394 pre-service early childhood teachers. The instruments were Social Support Scale, Adaptability to College Life Scale and Teacher Efficacy Scale. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS program. Frequency and percentage were used to determine the general background of the pre-service teachers. To examine social support, adaptability to college life and teacher efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers, descriptive statistics analysis was conducted. To assess the relationship among social support, adaptability to college life and teacher efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers, Pearson's correlation analysis was carried out. To examine the effects and relative explanation of esocial support, adaptability to college life and teacher efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers, multiple regression analysis was conducted. From the study results, first, pre-service early childhood teachers had higher social support, adaptability to college life and teacher efficacy rates than average. Second, there was a positive correlation among social support, adaptability to college life and teacher efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers. Third, teacher efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers was influenced by their social support, and adaptability to college life. The study results suggest that a teacher efficacy improvement program for pre-service early childhood teachers should be provided for ensuring their social support. The study results also emphasize the necessity of social support and adaptability to college life improvement program for pre-service early childhood teachers.

Methods: The participants were 54 pre-health education teachers studying the teaching curriculum in 1 college located in S city. The collected data was analyzed with descriptive statistics, cluster analysis, ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. Results: The average motivation of choosing a teaching profession, teacher efficacy, satisfaction of teaching class were above medium. After cluster analysis, 3 distinct groups emerged: motivation of choosing a teaching profession high group, motivation of choosing a teaching profession middle group, motivation of choosing a teaching profession low group. And the results showed significant differences in teacher efficacy, satisfaction of teaching class according to motivation of choosing a teaching profession group. Conclusion: The findings indicate that motivation of choosing a teaching profession affect the teacher efficacy, satisfaction of teaching class. Therefore It is necessary to identify the variables that influence motivation of choosing a teaching profession.

  • In this paper, we propose the way to solve the problems of current college of education at university that they are running a curriculum that is insufficient for immediate application to the school. So, we analyzed the application of capstone design which is proven to be effective in various fields, and constructed a curriculum for the development of educational materials to improve the teacher's qualification in the college of education and applied them to the preliminary informatics teachers. As a result, we confirmed that the development class of educational materials based on capstone design is positive for the change of awareness about informatics teacher's qualification, and also confirmed that the students' satisfaction level about class is higher. Based on the results, we discussed the effects of applying capstone design to the college of education. The conclusions are as follows: First, it helps students to improve the teacher's qualification. Second, it is a curriculum that can fill the shortage of student teaching. Third, the curriculum is an effective curriculum for the recognition of the student who is in charge of evaluation, and the teacher who is in charge of the evaluation. Fourth, Capstone design information textbook study class is a method of greatly improving class satisfaction compared to lecture class.

  • This study was designed to examine the effect of five years old boys' and girls' self-concept and leadership on the teacher-child relationship. The participants were 51 boys and 64 girls who were five years old in Jeonrabukdo. The results were as follows. First, in the case of the boys, there was significant relationship between their self concept of language, the parent relationship and an intimate teacher-child relationship. The self-concept of body and the teacher-child relationship of conflict were positively correlated. In the case of the girls, there were significant relationships between the self concept of body, language, the parent relationship, friends' relationship and the general and intimate teacher-child self-concept. The self-concept of mathematics and conflictive teacher-child relation were positively correlated. Second, there were significant relationships among the sub variable of leadership and an intimate teacher-child relationship. However, prosocial leadership, directedness and a conflictive teacher-child relationship were negatively correlated in the case of the boys. Third, the teacher-child relationship was affected by leadership more than the self concept, and prosocial leadership was highly related in boys and girls.

  • The article aims to present findings of a study which has examined the ability of elementary school mathematics teachers and of teacher-trainees in other disciplines to solve irregular challenging problems of sequences in general rather than numerical sequences only. The findings show that mathematics teachers succeed to cope with unusual assignments when the requirements of the problems presented to them are analogous to irregular problems. However, when the problems require a change in the thinking procedure in the direction of creative thinking, there is a considerable decrease in performance. Another finding shows that, although teacher-trainees succeed less in solving the presented problems, they give incorrect solutions which do indicate creative thinking. An inevitable conclusion based on the research findings is that teacher training institutions should enhance and reinforce multi-directional. branching out and creative thinking competences.

  • Through quantitative video analysis of four algebra classes and statistical analysis of various types of teacher evaluation behavior in the classroom teaching, we get: (1) Teacher evaluation behavior in classroom is close to take 1/5 of the total time of the classroom teaching, and it appears most frequently in class exercises and take the longest time; (2) There are many forms of teacher evaluation behavior in classroom, and most of the behaviors are positive assessment; (3) Recognition evaluation is relatively conservative in a single form without losing fairness; (4) Classroom assessments of teachers' behaviors are primarily concerned about students' knowledge and skills mastery, and it is less involved in student feelings, attitudes and behaviors; (5) The correct teacher evaluation behavior in classroom will inspire students to create internal motivations; and (6) The correct teacher evaluation behavior in classroom can stimulate the potential of students.

  • The effectiveness of mathematics classroom teaching is directly affected by the teaching language. Comparing the teaching language of a novice teacher in algebra instruction with an expert teacher from the perspective of pragmatics, it comes to a conclusion that: both teachers attach great importance to the use of the teaching language, with the proportion of the teaching language time more than 50%; the novice teacher uses the affirmative language frequently, twice as often as the expert teacher; the declarative language the novice teacher uses in the exploration is mostly to repeat students' answer, which takes up a short time; the novice teacher uses the teaching language too much in the consolidation, which causes fewer opportunities for students to think. Then we get the following revelations: streamline the teaching language and control the time of the teaching language reasonably; make good use of the affirmative language to provide students hints and necessary time for thinking; avoid simple restatement of the student's answer and use the declarative language ingeniously to improve the feedback quality; use the teaching language appropriately to help students accumulate basic experience in mathematics activities.

  • This research has an objective of investigating the challenges that student teachers encounter during practicum, the difference between teachers' image based on sociodemographic variables, recognition and satisfaction for practicum, and the effect of teachers' image and practicum experience on the satisfaction for the practicum. The participants of this study included 500 student teachers who enrolled in the department of early childhood education in a 2 or 3-year college or a 4-year university and completed practicum in the Chungcheong area. The instruments for this study were Teacher's Image Scale, Practicum Experience Scale, Practicum Satisfaction Scale and a questionnaire for sociodemographic variables. The results were as follows: First, the highest level of teachers' image was obtained for student teachers enrolled in a 2-year college, completed practicum in large cities and finished practicum at an institution with a size of 3-6 classes. Also, the highest level of 'recognition for practicum' of student teachers was observed when they were instructed by a guidance teacher with a degree from a graduate school and with a first degree certification in public kindergarten. Second, the satisfaction for practicum of student teachers was mostly affected by' the atmosphere of the practice institutions', while personality affected the teachers' image.
