  • The purpose of this study is to propose an ICT-oriented teacher curriculum in order to improve early childhood teacher's competency using ICT instructional media. To this end, a survey was conducted to investigate the importance and current level of early childhood teacher's competency. After identifying the necessity of ICT instructional media competency, the contents of an ICT-oriented teacher curriculum were designed. A survey of teacher competency among 207 teachers showed the highest educational need for ICT instructional media competency. In addition, ICT-based teacher curriculum was classified into ICT literacy education and ICT utilization education based on the analysis results of sub-indexes on ICT instructional media competency. Each part was hierarchized into three levels of awareness, application, and spread according to the teacher's competency level and the educational contents were suggested based on the goals set for each level. In this study, it consisted of ICT literacy education, including understanding educational policy related to ICT utilization, understanding the goals and assessment of the ICT curriculum and ICT utilization education, including the use of teaching and learning methods, application of digital technology, ICT learning environment building and management for developing teacher professionalism related to ICT instructional media.

  • As the recent demand for human resources in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), the development of professional STEM teacher is called worldwide. It is becoming a critical need in teacher education in order to educate student teachers, and prepare pre-service and beginning teachers for high quality of teaching competency. To promote the competency for $21^{st}$ century STEM teachers, the epistemology of technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) is currently considered as the essential qualities of knowledge for highly qualified teachers. The aim of this study is explore the effect of case-based learning approach on TPACK competency of pre-service STEM teachers. In order to develop the pre-service teachers' competency regarding effective integration of technologies into teaching specific content areas, a series of innovative case study teaching in science and mathematics was presented to 43 participants of pre-service physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and computer teachers during a course of information and communication technology (ICT) in Education at Khon Kaen University, Thailand. After finishing a case presentation, the pre-service teachers were encouraged into a forum of critical open discussion by considering the potential impact of the case and the TPACK framework. They were investigated instructional design competency of using ICT tools into student learning process and their personal beliefs about ICT in educational process both before and after. The participant's reactions and learning was evaluated by using a self-reported questionnaire and an implementation log of content-specific learning process design, respectively. Results showed a change of their beliefs and the transformation of their TPACK competency in STEM teaching. In an effort to better serve the needs of high quality STEM teachers, the results of this study illustrated that the competency of TPACK could be particularly considered as a core attributes for future STEM teachers. By the way, case-based learning approach can play an effective part in preparing and professing the TPACK competency for STEM teachers.

  • This study evaluates the AI digital competencies of teachers and presents a step-by-step framework for teacher's AI digital competencies that can be utilized in training. To do this, AI digital competencies were analyzed from the perspective of utilization and disposition, linked with the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) perspective. Then, as a precedent for step-by-step teacher AI digital competencies, the 3-step competency of the British Education and Training Foundation and the UNESCO ICT Teacher Competency Framework were presented. In this study, teacher's AI digital competencies were divided into three stages: entry, adaptation, and leadership, considering precedent research and domestic conditions. The initial entry stage passed the validity test in the second round of the Delphi survey, and the other two stages passed in the first round. The final entry stage is described as a stage where teachers understand AI digital but have difficulty implementing it, the adaptation stage is a level applied to standard curricula, and the leadership stage is a level where AI digital is applied in advanced courses and teachers serve as models for others. Through the overall AI digital competencies presented in this study, detailed competency development is possible, and it can be used as a reference material for developing evaluation items.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the results of training programs for strengthening teachers' ICT competency and to suggest the ways to improve the existing ones. To do this, we conducted literature review, web survey with teachers, and in-depth interview with training program operators. The results of the online survey indicated that generally speaking, the programs had been operated desirably, although three programs(Thinking with Technology Course, Essential Course, e-PBL Instructional Design Course) needed to take additional efforts for their effectiveness and efficiency. According to the results of in-depth interview with training operators, they demanded re-training for lecturers, self career development, quality control of regional delivery training, expansion of training periods, and post-supports after training etc.

  • As the importance of computing technology is emphasized, Korea has revised the educational curriculum to teach SW education compulsory at the elementary and secondary school level. For successful SW education, it is very important not only to require an educational environment and educational materials, but also to obtain the capacity of the teachers who are responsible for SW education. However, due to the lack of research on specifically examining the present state of teachers' SW competencies, there are many deficiencies in establishing a concrete teacher's training and a support plan for SW education. This study is to develop test tools and apply to measure a common sense about a computer, the latest IT technology algorithm design and a programming ability for the purpose of evaluating the SW competency of current teachers. As a result of the study, the understanding of common sense about a computer and the latest IT technology is very high, on the other hand the algorithm design and programming ability were analyzed as low. Therefore, the implications for SW education teacher's training and a process of prospective teachers' training are derived.

  • The study determined the access, skills and constraints towards the usage of ICT among barangay officials. A complete enumeration technique was used due to the small size of the population. A total of 121 barangay secretaries and barangay treasurers comprised the study respondents. The findings revealed that most of barangay officials have access to personal computer at home and in the office using their own mobile data and office internet connectivity. With the support from the Local Government Unit (LGU), it was found that most of the respondents are advance and proficient in computer usage. As constraints to ICT usage, the study respondents still experienced slow internet bandwidth that makes connection and communication weak along with the low income status. Consequently, it was found that there were no significant differences in terms of skills and constraints among barangay secretaries and barangay treasurers towards using ICT. It can be concluded that study respondents prefer to use office computer to access the information they need due to the convenience and availability of resources. The study respondents were competent enough to handle their job well but listed slow internet and low financial resources may hamper their ICT usage. Research implications were also offered.

  • This study is to propose a FOCUS Teaching & Learning model to educate pre-service early childhood teachers and in the era of convergence and integration and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In an era where the use of digital technology is maximized due to COVID-19, boundaries of each fields are blurred and convergence is emphasized, a teaching and learning model is needed to strengthen capabilities of freshmen at colleges that train specialists. This study proposes ways to vitalize ICT education in early childhood education and proposes an integrated teaching and learning model. Through this model, pre-service early childhood teachers will be able to enhance their digital capabilities and contribute to the field of early childhood education by producing video content, activities and teaching aids to be provided to early childhood education institutions. In addition, the model can be applied to areas other than early childhood education to improve digital capabilities through video production and utilization.
