The concurrence can bring out either positive or negative images; -Lines have unlimited variation as a core measure in body art. They can make optimal effects with different lines such as straight and curved lines of human body; -Sides express not only effects of texture and perspective but also of space and solid by color effects. Expressive characteristics and geometric shapes can be classified by tattoo, henna and body painting: First, colorful tattoos are favored by Caucasian and original tattoos are mostly used by yellow and colored races in the way of scarification to get decorative effects. Recently, a rapid cycle of fashion change in tattoo figures has developed a tentative method of tattooing and a variety of decoration methods. It has made it a lot easier to change a pattern of a tattoo. Tattoos are now popular among people because they no longer have to suffer from pains when they get their body tattooed for a long time. Since tattoos boast their unique beauty which consists of most dynamic and attractive images among the types of body art. It will be one of the most favored make-up methods in the nearest future. Second, geometric designs used in henna include crosses, dots, straight lines, triangles, date palms, and so on. Henna has been particularly loved as an instant decoration by the public since it gradually disappears as time goes on. Third, body painting enables to draw a three-dimensional effect because of its close relation with body movements in a limited space. Each individual will have a different feeling appealed in their body painting. Body painting has been applied to many different areas, especially to theatrical art using lights, music and performance altogether producing impromptu and experimental works. Unlike other arts such as painting, sculpture, visual and industrial arts, body painting has mobility. Since it is painted on a three-dimensional human body, it can bear originality expressing realistic objects or animals and strengthen creative functions using body lines. Moreover, geometric designs can be diversified by the sexes. As a result of analysis, geometric designs expressed in body art seemed to transcend expressions of beauty and turned out to be another way of decoration. Body art has also been used as a way to express visual integration and consolidation dynamically not by human instinct but by social changes. The needs for body art will grow as the future comes nearer and be recognized as a new and fresh value. Formative elements of geometric figures deliver visual impressions combined with human body and finally create more various types of body art in harmony of body lines.

The subjects of this study were 214 four-year college students located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, Cronbach's α, crossover analysis, and t-test were conducted using the 25.0 version of the SPSS statistical package. As a result of the study, there was no significant difference in negative health behavior, mental health, and self-esteem between the two groups according to the presence of tattoos. Therefore, it can be said that it has a meaning as a positive aspect of research contrary to previous studies that report negative properties of tattoo. • The picosecond laser has been widely used to remove tattoos, and improve wrinkles, acne scarring, and pigmented scars. This study was performed to investigate the efficacy and safety of a 1,064-nm fractional picosecond laser treatment for depressed traumatic scars. A total of twenty Korean patients with depressed scars were treated with a 1,064-nm fractional picosecond laser at a two-week interval with a spot size of 3 mm, fluence of 3.5 to 5.5 J/cm2, and frequency of 2 Hz with a combination of microlens arrays. At 4 weeks after the final treatment, there was a statistically significant improvement in the modified Vancouver Scar Scale (mVSS) and the patient satisfaction score without any significant complication. A 1,064-nm fractional picosecond laser treatment is a safe and effective method to improve traumatic wound scars with depression.

  • This study was conducted for a systematic literature review according to the period, subject, and research method for 198 papers related to tattoo and semi-permanent makeup published from 1979 to 2022. By period, it was divided into the first period (1979-1994), the second period (1995-2005), the third period (2006-2012), and the fourth period (2013-2022). In the first period, research on health and medical aspects was the main focus, and in the second period, studies in various aspects such as art and culture began to appear. The 3rd period was characterized by increased research on semi-permanent makeup, and the 4th period was marked by a rapid increase in research on tattoos and semi-permanent makeup. By research topic, it was analyzed by dividing it into health and medical care, beauty, fashion and art, society and culture, law and system. As a result, cosmetic studies were most actively conducted to identify consumers' preferences and perceptions, and health and medical studies were the second most common. • Various laser systems have been widely used in almost all industrial technologies because they have high energy density, directivity and coherence. Recently the clinical application is becoming wider in medical parts such as incurable disease, diagnosis and so on. Generally, ruby laser beam has the greatest efficacy for removing tattoos, freckle and other skin problem. But current medical ruby laser system has the maximum repetition rate of 2Hz and optical output beam energy of 1J. Many medical doctors really want to have a high repetition ruby laser system because that can reduce the operation time. We investigated a new ruby laser system with high repetition rate of 4Hz using double cavities. Furthermore, we develop a new power supply system adopting zero voltage switching(ZVS) to minimize switching loss by LLC resonant converter designed as 2kW class.

  • This study aims to define the influences of an individual's talent types and body consciousness factors on high((intense)-level appearance management behavior in 367 adults(female 172 and male 195). The present study is the first to consider both human talent type and the body consciousness on the high level-appearance management behavior correlates to appearance management behaviour. According to the result of the analysis, plastic surgery on body forms or faces are done by few people. However, straightening teeth, ear piercing, removal of spots or imperfections, and eyebrow tattoos are conducted by many consumers without much resistance. It is rather widely accepted, despite the fact that it can cause pain, discomfort, and side-effects. Furthermore, although excessive acts such as muscle training, dieting, weight managing, and oriental treatments can lead to side-effects, the standardized efficient beta value turned out to be high for these treatments. Thus, this study suggests that both the interpersonal talent among 8 talent factors and 2 body consciousness factors contributes to the reinforcement of the self-identity through high level-appearance management behaviors, but except risky plastic surgery. Therefore, this study supports the previous researches that body consciousness composed of self-source, which is desires and efforts to achieve the ideal body, and external-source, which is the internalization of other people's feedbacks.
