In the present study, we evaluated the target reliability indices and partial safety factors for caisson sliding of a vertical breakwater. The average of the reliability indices of existing breakwaters was proposed as the target reliability index for the breakwater of normal safety level. The target reliability indices of high and low safety levels were also proposed based on the analysis of breakwaters in Korea and Japan. The partial safety factors were then proposed for each safety level by averaging the values calculated for 12 breakwater crosssections in Korea. The appropriateness of the proposed partial safety factors was partly verified by showing that the reliability index calculated by using the present partial safety factors is located between those of mild and steep bottom slopes of JPHA(2007). The proposed partial safety factors were inversely used to calculate the caisson width and reliability index of existing breakwaters. While the reliability indices of existing breakwaters designed by the deterministic method show a large variation, those designed by the partial safety factor method show a small variation. This indicates that the partial safety factor method allows a consistent design for given target probability of failure.
Purpose: In this paper, we developed a reliability index (RI) to efficiently compare reliability of products based on the design, development and production information such as reliability tests, quality, product life-cycle management. RI also can be applied to reliability prediction of a novel product as well as comparison evaluation among existing products. Methods: For evaluating RI, we proposed evaluation process which is composed of five steps. Target modules are selected based on warranty data and correlation analysis. Scores of selected target modules are calculated by scoring function. Finally, weights of RI model are determined by optimization method. Results: This paper presented an empirical analysis based on failure data of mobile devices. In this case study, we demonstrated that there is a direct correlation between evaluated RI and field failure probability of each product. Conclusion: We proposed the index for comprehensive and effective assessment of product reliability level. From the procedure of this study, we expected to be applied for reliability estimation of novel products and deduction of field failure-related factors.

Model pruning methods have attracted huge attention owing to the increasing demand of deploying models on low-resource devices recently. Most existing methods use the weight norm of filters to represent their importance, and discard the ones with small value directly to achieve the pruning target, which ignores the contribution of the small norm filters. This is not only results in filter contribution waste, but also gives comparable performance to training with the random initialized weights [1]. In this paper, we point out that the small norm filters can harm the performance of the pruned model greatly, if they are discarded directly. Therefore, we propose a novel filter contribution recycle (FCR) method for structured model pruning to resolve the fore-mentioned problem. FCR collects and reassembles contribution from the small norm filters to obtain a mixed contribution collector, and then assigns the reassembled contribution to other filters with higher probability to be preserved. To achieve the target FLOPs, FCR also adopts a weight decay strategy for the small norm filters. To explore the effectiveness of our approach, extensive experiments are conducted on ImageNet2012 and CIFAR-10 datasets, and superior results are reported when comparing with other methods under the same or even more FLOPs reduction. In addition, our method is flexible to be combined with other different pruning criterions.

Until now it has had the limitation of the target in the US JMEM to calculate the Pk with the existing method by our study. In this study, we focused on deriving a method to calculate the Pk of the actual targets except JMEM targets using ANN. We study the initial predictive model of ANN(Artificial Neural Network) from the targets data of the specification and the vulnerable area in the US JMEM(Joint Munitions Effectiveness Manuals), and calculate the actual targets vulnerable area by using this method. Finally, we propose a method to calculate the Pk by applying those data to the existing method of us.
Purpose: To evaluate the risk of vertebral compression fracture (VCF) after conventional radiotherapy (RT) for colorectal cancer (CRC) with spine metastasis and to identify risk factors for VCF in metastatic and non-metastatic irradiated spines. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 68 spinal segments in 16 patients who received conventional RT between 2009 and 2012. Fracture was defined as a newly developed VCF or progression of an existing fracture. The target volume included all metastatic spinal segments and one additional non-metastatic vertebra adjacent to the tumor-involved spines. Results: The median follow-up was 7.8 months. Among all 68 spinal segments, there were six fracture events (8.8%) including three new VCFs and three fracture progressions. Observed VCF rates in vertebral segments with prior irradiation or pre-existing compression fracture were 30.0% and 75.0% respectively, compared with 5.2% and 4.7% for segments without prior irradiation or pre-existing compression fracture, respectively (both p < 0.05). The 1-year fracture-free probability was 87.8% (95% CI, 78.2-97.4). On multivariate analysis, prior irradiation (HR, 7.30; 95% CI, 1.31-40.86) and pre-existing compression fracture (HR, 18.45; 95% CI, 3.42-99.52) were independent risk factors for VCF. Conclusion: The incidence of VCF following conventional RT to the spine is not particularly high, regardless of metastatic tumor involvement. Spines that received irradiation and/or have pre-existing compression fracture before RT have an increased risk of VCF and require close observation.

Under consideration of construction waste recycling, candidate secondary products applicable for the civil and construction areas can be reliably employed based on the recycling cost analysis. For the validation purpose, probability-based cost analyses were performed to estimate recycling cost profit considering uncertainties. When recycling construction wastes, the costs at each stage are fully dependent on target products to be adopted. To achieve commercialization of each product, its quality has to be improved with economic efficiency through accurate evaluation of input costs. Based on the probabilistic recycling cost analysis, the cost benefit for target products was estimated with waste classification cost, transportation cost to recycling treatment facilities and production cost. All necessary information on the cost analysis were collected from literature, disclosure, and existing recycling companies. In addition, a cost difference between recycled and non-recycled events was made. As a result, a probability-based recycling cost estimate for candidate secondary products was herein presented.

This paper proposes a filtering method for effective state vector estimation of highly maneuvering target. It is needed to hit the point called 'sweet spot' to increase the kill probability in missile interception. In paper, a filtering method estimates the length of a moving target tracked by a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar. High resolution range profiles (HRRPs) is generated from the radar echo signal and then it's integrated into proposed filtering method. To simulate the radar measurement which is close to real, the study on the properties of scattering point of the missile-like target has been conducted with ISAR image for different angle. Also, it is hard to track the target efficiently with existing Kalman filters which has fixed measurement noise covariance matrix R. Therefore the proposed method continuously updates the covariance matrix R with sensor measurements and tracks the target. Numerical simulations on the proposed method shows reliable results under reasonable assumptions on the missile interception scenario.
Target reliability index in the limit state design indicated the safety margin and it is important to determine the partial factor. To determine the target reliability index which is needed in the limit state design, the six design and construction case histories of gravel compaction piles (GCP) were investigated. The limit state functions were defined by bulging failure for the major failure mode of GCP. The reliability analysis were performed using the first order reliability method (FORM) and the reliability index was calculated for each ultimate bearing capacity formulation. The reliability index of GCP tended to be penportional to the safety factor of allowable stress design and average value was ${\beta}$=2.30. Reliability level that was assessed by reliability analysis and target reliability index for existing structure foundations were compared and analyzed. As a result, The GCP was required a relatively low level of safety compared with deep and shallow foundations and the currd t reliability level were similar to the target reliability in the reinforced earth retaining-wall and soil-nailing. Therefore the target reliability index of GCP suggested as ${\beta}_T$=2.33 by various literatures together with the computed reliability level in this study.

In this paper, we propose a novel Proxy Mobile IPv6 network bandwidth-efficient handoff scheme. MN are classified into slow and fast one. At first MN should be registered in the microcell for bandwidth efficient handoff scheme. microcell is overlapped to handle the overflow session request which is nested. Overflow session request in macrocell requests to go back from the boundary of the microcell to new microcell. If idle session traffic is in a cell, it is requested by the target microcell. Analysis model was developed, an existing session of the session blocking probability and forcing termination probability of the session request have improved considerably. If the total traffic load of the system is not very large, the proposed scheme has the best bandwidth efficiency and provides better quality of service (QoS) to MN without costs of a lot of processing on the system.

In through-the-wall radar imaging (TWRI), the presence of front and side walls causes multipath propagation, which creates fake targets called multipath ghosts. They populate the scene and reduce the probability of correct target detection, classification, and localization. In modern TWRI, specular multipath exploitation has received considerable attention for reducing the effects of multipath ghosts. However, this exploitation is challenged by the requirements of the reflecting geometry, which is not always available. Currently, the demand for a high radar image resolution dictates the use of a large aperture and wide bandwidth. This results in a large amount of data. To tackle this problem, compressive sensing (CS) is applied to TWRI. With CS, only a fraction of the data are used to produce a high-quality image, provided that the scene is sparse. However, owing to multipath ghosts, the scene sparsity is highly deteriorated; hence, the performance of the CS algorithms is compromised. This paper presents and discusses the adverse effects of multipath ghosts in TWRI. It describes the physical formation of ghosts, their challenges, and existing suppression techniques.
