Consider an RFID network configured as a star such that a single reader is surrounded by a crowd of tags. In the RFID network, prior to attaining the information stored at a tag, the reader must cognize the tags while arbitrating a collision among tags' responses. For this purpose, we present a tag cognizance scheme based on framed and slotted ALOHA, which statically provides a number of slots in each frame for the tags to respond. For the evaluation of the cognizance performance, we choose the cognizance completion probability and the expected cognizance completion time as key performance measures. Then, we present a method to numerically calculate the performance measures. Especially, for small numbers of tags, we derive them in a closed form. Next, we formulate a problem to find an optimal time structure which either maximizes the cognizance completion probability under a constraint on the cognizance time or minimizes the expected cognizance completion time. By solving the problem, we finally obtain an optimal number of slots per frame for the tags to respond. From numerical results, we confirm that there exist a finite optimal number of slots for the tags to respond. Also, we observe that the optimal number of slots maximizing the cognizance completion probability tends to approach to the optimal number of slots minimizing the expected cognizance completion time as the constraint on the cognizance time becomes loose.
The purpose of this study was to observe the resin infiltration pattern into dentin by various dentin bonding agents. Freshley extracted 36 sound human molars were used in this study. They were stored at $4^{\circ}C$ physiologic saline solution before experiment. All the teeth were cross-sectioned to expose dentin below about 3.0mm at the cusp tip and above 2.0mm at the cemento-enamel junction with Crystal Cutter (MC411 D, Maruto Co., Japan), and were made into specimens for this study (Fig. 1). The specimen experimental groups were divided into 9 groups by dentin surface treatment as following procedures: Group I: Treated with Gluma Cleanser followed by Gluma Primer and Sealer Group 2. Treated with Gluma Cleanser followed by Scotch bond 2 Adhesive Group 3: Treated with Gluma Cleanser followed by Tenure Solution A, Band Visar Seal Group 4: Treated with Scotchprep followed by Scotch bond 2 Adhesive Group 5: Treated with Scotchprep followed by Gluma Primer and Sealer Group 6: Treated with Scotch prep followed by Tenure Solution A, Band Visar Seal Group 7: Treated with Tenure Conditioner followed by Tenure Solution A, Band Visar Seal Group 8: Treated with Tenure Conditioner followed by Scotchbond 2 Adhesive Group 9: Treated with Tenure Conditioner followed by Gluma Primer and Sealer 27 specimens of 36 specimens were divided into 9 groups (Group 1-9), and were used for observation of resin tags. Remaining 9 specimens were divided into 3 groups (Group 1,4 and 7), and were used for observation of fractured dentin surfaces. Specimens to observe the resin tag were demineralized with 20% HCl for 14 hours, specimens to observe the fractured dentin surfaces were demineralized with 10% HCl for 3 minutes. All the specimens were gold-coated with Eiko ion coater (Eiko-engineering Co.), and observed under Scanning electron microscope (Hitachi S-2300) at 20 KV. The following results were obtained: 1. In group 1 treated with Gluma Cleanser, Gluma Primer, and Sealer, most resin tags were more than $100{\mu}m$. 2. In group 4 treated with Scotch prep and Scotchbond 2 Adhesive, most resin tags were about $10{\mu}m$. 3. In group 7 treated with Tenure conditioner, Tenure Solution A, B, and Visar Seal, most resin tags were about $10{\mu}m$ but occasionally resin tags were more than $100{\mu}m$. 4. In groups 2,3,5,6,8 and 9, the lengths of resin tags were inconsistent and the amount of resin tags were reduced.

We consider an RFID network configured as a star in which tags stationarily move into and out of the vicinity of the reader. To cognize the neighboring tags in the RFID network, we propose a scheme based on dynamic framed and slotted ALOHA which determines the number of slots belonging to a frame in a dynamic fashion. The tag cognizance scheme distinctively employs a rule for estimating the expected number of neighboring tags, identified as R-retrospective maximum likelihood rule, where the observations attained in the R previous frames are used in maximizing the likelihood of expected number of tags. Simulation result shows that a slight increase in depth of retrospect is able to significantly improve the cognizance performance.
In this work, the effects of hydrogen reduction on the microstructure and thermoelectric properties of $(GeTe)_{0.85}(AgSbTe_2)_{0.15}$ (TAGS-85) were studied by a combination of gas atomization and spark plasma sintering. The crystal structure and microstructure of TAGS-85 were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The oxygen content of both powders and bulk samples were found to decrease with increasing reduction temperature. The grain size gradually increased with increasing reduction temperature due to adhesion of fine grains in a temperature range of 350 to $450^{\circ}C$. The electrical resistivity was found to increase with reduction temperature due to a decrease in carrier concentration. The Seebeck coefficient decreased with increasing reduction temperature and was in good agreement with the carrier concentration and carrier mobility. The maximum power factor, $3.3{\times}10^{-3}W/mK^2$, was measured for the non-reduction bulk TAGS-85 at $450^{\circ}C$.

In RFID System, one of the problem that we must slove is to devise a good anti-collision algorithms to improve the efficiency of tag identification which is usually low because of tag collision. Among of the existing RFID anti-collision algorithm, BS (Binary Search) algorithm, though simple, has a disadvantage that the stage 0f times used to identify the tags increase exponentially as the number of tags does. In this Paper, I propose a new anti-collision algorithm called Multi-collision reflected frame which restricts the number of stages and decided bit. Since the proposal algorithm keep the length size of UID and density of total tag when have 100%.

This paper introduces efficient rule-based semantic search techniques to ontology-based knowledge commerce services. Primarily, the search techniques presented in this paper define rules of reasoning that are required for users to search using the concept of ontology, multiple characteristics, relations among concepts and data type. In addition, based on the defined rules, the rule-based reasoning techniques search ontology for knowledge commerce services. This paper explains the conversion rules of query which convert user's query language into semantic search words, and transitivity rules which enable users to search related tags, knowledge products and users. Rule-based sematic search techniques are also presented; these techniques comprise knowledge search modules that search ontology using validity examination of queries, query conversion modules for standardization and expansion of search words and rule-based reasoning. The techniques described in this paper can be applied to sematic knowledge search systems using tags, since transitivity reasoning, which uses tags, knowledge products, and relations among people, is possible. In addition, as related users can be searched using related tags, the techniques can also be employed to establish collaboration models or semantic communities.
In this paper, we propose an image classification which combines semantic relations of tags with contents of images to improve the satisfaction of image retrieval on application domains as huge image sharing sites. To make good use of image retrieval or classification algorithms on huge image sharing sites as Flickr, they are applicable to real tagged Web images. To classify the Web images by 'bag of visual word' based image content, our algorithm includes training the category model by utilizing the preliminary retrieved images with semantically related tags as training data and classifying the test images based on PLSA. In the experimental results on the Flickr Web images, the proposed method produced the better precision and recall rates than those from the existing method using tag information.

In RSSI-based RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) indoor localization system, the signal path loss model of each sub-region is different from others in the whole localization area due to the influence of the multi-path phenomenon and other environmental factors. Therefore, this paper divides the localization area into many sub-regions and constructs separately the signal path loss model of each sub-region. Then an improved LANDMARC method is proposed. Firstly, the deployment principle of RFID readers and tags is presented for constructing localization sub-region. Secondly, the virtual reference tags are introduced to create a virtual signal strength space with RFID readers and real reference tags in every sub-region. Lastly, k nearest neighbor (KNN) algorithm is used to locate the target object and an error compensating algorithm is proposed for correcting localization result. The results in real application show that the new method enhances the positioning accuracy to 18.2% and reduces the time cost to 30% of the original LANDMARC method without additional tags and readers.

Blogs are now one of the major information resources on the web. The purpose of this study is to enhance the performance of blog retrieval by means of user assigned tags and trackback information. To this end, retrieval experiments were performed with a dataset of 4,908 blog pages together with their associated trackback URLs. In the experiments, text terms, user tags, and network centrality values based on trackbacks were variously combined as retrieval features. The experimental results showed that employing user tags and network centrality values as retrieval features in addition to text words could improve the performance of blog retrieval.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the RFID recognition performance by level of water. A 13.56 MHz RFID management system for packaged liquid food logistics is consisted of antenna, reader, passive type tags, and embedded controller. The tests were conducted at different level of water, distances between tag and antenna, and position of attached tags. To analyze the RFID recognition performance, maximum recognition distances for a container and recognition rates for a logistics made of 27 containers were measured and analyzed. The maximum recognition distance for a container was different depending on position of attached tags, and attached tag at upside position showed a good performance. But, the recognition rate of 27 containers showed a good ability for attached tags at front side position, 30~35 cm distance to antenna, and water level 1. Therefore, to manage packaged liquid food logistics using RFID system, position of attached tag, distances between tag and antenna, and level of water should be considered.
