  • Moving-objects databases should efficiently support database queries that refer to the trajectories and positions of continuously moving objects. To improve the performance of these queries. an efficient indexing scheme for continuously moving objects is required. To my knowledge, range queries on current positions cannot be handled by the 3D R-tree and the TB-tree. In order to handle range queries on current and past positions. I modified the original 3D R-tree to keep the now tags. Most of spatio-temporal index structures suffer from the fact that they cannot efficiently process range queries past positions of moving objects. To address this issue. we propose an access method, called the Tagged Adaptive 3DR-tree (or just TA3DR-tree), which is based on the original 3D R-tree method. The results of our extensive experiments show that the Tagged Adaptive 3DR-tree outperforms the original 3D R-tree and the TB-tree typically by a big margin.

  • A folksonomy is a new classification approach for organizing information by users to freely attach one or more tags to various resources published on the web. Recently, in order to provide useful services and organize the folksonomy data, many collaborative tagging systems based on folksonomy offer additional functionalities for grouping each elements of a folksonomy. In this paper, organization framework for grouped folksonomy is proposed. That is, we suggest the grouped folksonomy model that is an extended folksonomy with the concept of "group" and fundamental operations(Group Aggregation, Group Composition, Group Intersection, Group Difference) for grouping of folksonomy elements. Also, we developed a supporting tool(GFO) that constructs grouped folksonomy and executes fundamental operations. And we introduce some cases using the fundamental operations for grouping of each elements of folksonomy. Based on suggested our approach, we can construct grouped folksonomy and organize and extract useful information from the folksonomy data by grouping each elements of a folksonomy.

  • There are 21,000 National Surveying Control Points (NSCP) made of stone for precise surveying nationwide. NSCPs that provide location information are usually buried at the top of a mountain for view points that cannot be used by the public. Recently, according to the growing ubiquitous computing generation, location-based information has become very important and a service that can be easily accessed by the public is needed. In this research, a new type of reference point for a location information service is proposed. It is an Intelligent Reference Point (IRP) equipped with RFID tags and a two-dimensional bar-code system. The IRP system is composed of an electronic tag component, a tag identification component, and an IRP service component. We designed the IRP receiver identifying RFID tag and two-dimensional barcode was designed using a PDA, digital camera, and an RFID receiver. Also designed was IRP input data and input information. Furthermore, the operation software was developed in a PDA for identifying IRP and using IRP the service, and the IRP positioning method was developed using a GIS spatial analysis.

  • The nature of port logistics requires global visibility and traceability. However, the traditional RFID technology still applied cannot meet these demands. IP-USN and M2M in port logistics have faced challenges of the prerequisite of network composition and immense communications at the base where a grand number of containers are installed. To resolve the issue, this study suggests an IP-RFID-based smart port logistics service platform. The IP-RFID-based port logistics service system resolved the communication problem by separating the RFID tag and AP, which allows internet connection, from the tag. The tags connected with thermo-sensors, humidity sensors, pressure sensors, GPS, etc. are attached to the containers insuring global visibility and traceability, key factors in logistics, by obtaining desired real-time information regardless of time and location.

  • When an RFID reader uses the same frequency or adjacent frequency with neighbor readers, the interference might occur. These interferences cause the RFID reader collision and errors during tag recognition. Therefore, the international standard for RFID and some papers proposed the methods to reduce the reader collision. The reader interference is closely related to the distance between the readers haying interference and used frequency band. In the previous RFID reader anti-collision algorithms, the location of readers inducing interference which is closely related to interference of readers is not considered. Only the reader collision is tried to reduce through frequency transfer after collisions occur or modification of frame size in relation to collision probability based a TDM(Time Division Multiplex). In this paper, the genetic algorithm using two-dimensional chromosome which reflect readers' location is proposed to prevent reader collision effectively. By executing evolutionary operation with two-dimensional chromosome, the location information having influence on reader interference can be used. The repair operation in the proposed algorithm makes all reader stably recognize their tags.

  • Users of World Wide Web (Web) experience difficulties in the retrieval of pertinent information due to the increased information provided by Web sites and the complex structure of Web documents that are continuously created, deleted, restructured, and updated. Web providers' efforts to maintain their sites are tend to be less than that of site creation due to the expenses required for maintenance. If information of relationship among Web documents and their validity is provided to Web managers as well as Web developers, they can better serve users. In order to grasp the whole structure of a Web site and to verify the validity of hyperlinks, traversal and analysis of hyperlinks in a Web document are required to provide information for effective and efficient creation and maintenance of the Web. In this paper, we introduce a Web Editor specialized for Web maintenance. We emphasized on two aspects: first, the analysis of HTML Tags to extract hyperlink information and second, establishment of the relationship among hyperlinked documents, and verification of the validity of them.

  • Recently, Selim et al proposed public key cryptography based privacy preserving multi-context RFID authentication protocol. However Selim et al's proposed protocol not only doesn't fit into passive tag based RFID system because it uses public key based encryption algorithm to perform authentication between reader and tag, but also is insecure to an impersonation attack because it doesn't provide mutual authentication. In order to eliminate the above described efficiency problem and security vulnerabilities, this paper proposes a new multi-context RFID mutual authentication protocol that can prevent privacy invasion and tag impersonation attack through providing mutual authentication between single passive tag which is located different application space and readers which provide multi-context purposes and can secure against relay attack and denial-of-service attack. As a result, the proposed protocol performs secure mutual authentication based on the collected space and time information from the RFID reader and provides strong security and high computation efficiency because if performs secure one-way hash function and symmetric encryption operations suitable to the environments of passive RFID tags.

  • In this paper, we describe VLSI design and performance evaluation of OCB-AES crytographic algorithm that simulataneously provides privacy and authenticity. The OCB-AES crytographic algorithm sovles the problems such as long operation time and large hardware of conventional crytographic system, because the conventional system must implement the privancy and authenticity sequentially with seqarated algorithms and hardware. The OCB-AES processor with area-efficient modular offset generator and tag generator is designed using IDEC Samsung 0.35um standard cell library and consists of about 55,700 gates. Its cipher rate is about 930Mbps and the number of clock cycles needed to generate the 128-bit tags for authenticity and integrity is (m+2)${\times}$(Nr+1), where m and Nr represent the number of block for message and number of rounds for AES encryption, respectively. The OCB-AES processor can be applicable to soft cryptographic IP of IEEE 802.11i wireless LAN and Mobile SoC.

  • RFID-based Smart cabinets can make a recognition error owing to the electromagnetic wave interference. This paper proposes and implements a smart cabinet system for inventory management using RFID, especially which can be applied to biological laboratories. We calculate the optimal value of partition distance for the higher recognition rate between RFID tags and the reader, and the optimal partition thickness for electromagnetic wave absorption to achieve the higher recognition rate, in which two kinds of the partitions have been tested, a pure steel partition with various thickness and a thin steel partition attached with electromagnetic waves absorber. The experimental results show that the most recommended partition structure for the smart cabinets is one with the partition distance of 30cm and the partition thickness of 1mm attached with the electromagnetic wave absorption tapes.
