  • In this paper, a control algorthm suitable for multi-objective control is proposed based on the orthogonal array which is normally used in statics and industrial engineering. And a newly defined Nthcertainty factor is suggested, which can effectively exclude the less confident rule. The Nth-certainty factor is defined by the F-values of the ANOVA(analysis of variance) table. It is shown that the algorithm can be successfully adopted to the design of controller for an active magnetic bearing system.

  • On this study, we improved diaphgram for micro speaker performance using Taguchi method in discrete design space. The design of diaphgram has an effect on performance of micro speaker such as, thickness of diaphgram, shape of diaphgram, etc. Therefore this study carried to decide shape of diaphgram and thickness of diaphgram for minimizing 2nd natural frequency of diaphgram using Taguchi method. we showed improved design factors that minimized 2nd natural frequency of diaphgram. Also, 2nd natural frequency of diaphgram for micro speaker is reduced up to 37 percent maintaining twist mode shape. From the results of ANOVA, 2nd natural frequency of diaphgram for micro speaker have an effect on position of the outer curved shape and thickness of diaphgram.

  • A new fuzzy logic control design algorithm suitable for multi-objective control problems is proposed based on the orthogonal array which is widely used for design of experiments in statistics and industrial engineering. The essence of the algorithm is to introduce Nth-certainty factor defined from the F-value of the ANOVA(analysis of variance) table, in order to effectively exclude the less confident rules. The proposed algorithm with multi-objective decision table(MODT) is found to be capable of the detection of inconsistency and the rule classification, reduction and modification. It is also shown that the algorithm can be successfully applied to the fuzzy controller design of an active magnetic bearing system.

  • This paper proposes an optimal design to improve the performance of the intake system by reducing the noise. We adapt the Taguchi method and column merging method for the above design. At the first stage of the design, the length and radius of each component of the current intake system are selected as control factors. Then the $L^{18}$ table of orthogonal array is used to get the effective main factors. At the second stage, the $L^{16}$ table of orthogonal array and the column merging method is combined to analyze subdivided significant factors. We know that the robust design with the column merging method provides better design for noise of intake system than the robust design itself.

  • This study uses a characteristic function to explain correlations between the objective function and design variables. For the use, structural analysis and buckling analysis are carried out. the dimensional change of an original overhead crane is made based on the table of orthogonal array. For two functions or more, the effectiveness of design change can be evaluated in accordance with change in design parameters. Also, the overhead crane's weight is reduced by up to 10.55 percent while its structural stability maintained.

단속하드터닝에서 잔류응력과 가공변질층의 고찰 (Residual sterss and damaged layer in an intermittent hard turning)

  • Hard turning has the potential to replace grinding process and to achieve significant reduction in production time and cost. The main applications for hard turning is finishing process, namely grinding process. Therefore, it must be able to satisfy high surface integrity of the workpiece. This paper discusses surface quality in terms of residual stress and damaged layer with respect to cutting parameters in an intermittent hard turning. Damaged layer experiment is carried out orthogonal array. From that is based on the orthogonal array. From the response table, cutting parameters are analyzed from the view point of the damaged layer and residual stress. From this experimental results, even though in the intermittent hard turning, surface integrity turns out be good enough for replacing grinding process.

통계적 접근법에 의한 원통 래핑 공정의 실험 분석 (Stochastic Approach to Experimental Analysis of Cylindrical Lapping Process)

  • Lapping is a very complicated and random process resulting from the variation of abrasive grains in its sizes and shapes and from the numerous factors having an effect on the process quality. Thus it needs to be analyzed by experimental method rather than by theoretical method to obtain the relative effects of factors quantitatively. In this study, cylindrical lapping experiment designed by Taguchi's L8 orthogonal array was performed and analyzed by Yates' ANOVA table. As a result, effective factors and interaction effects were identified and discussed. Also the optimal factor combination to obtain the largest improvement of surface roughness was selected and confirmatory experiments were peformed.

  • 자동차 측면 충돌사고는 충격흡수공간이 충분하지 않기 때문에 정면 충돌사고와는 달리 발생빈도에 비하여 탑승자의 상해비율이 매우 높은 경향을 나타낸다. 측면 충돌사고 발생시 탑승자를 보호하기 위하여 전세계 각국에서는 자동차안전기준 및 안전도평가 등의 법규를 시행 및 강화하고 있다. 그러나 차체 자체의 충격흡수력을 이용한 수동 안전방식으로는 협소한 공간에 기술을 적용하는데 한계가 있다. 커튼 에어백은 측면 에어백과 함께 현재로서는 측면충돌시 탑승자를 보호하는 가장 효과적인 시스템이다. 본 연구에서는 측면 충돌사고 발생시 탑승자의 머리상해지수를 감소시키기 위한 커튼 에어백의 최적설계를 수행하였다. 충돌 시뮬레이션을 바탕으로 직교배열표와 일원표, 그리고 반응표면법을 순차적으로 적용하고 각각의 결과에 대하여 확인실험으로 검증하여 커튼 에어백의 최적설계를 수행하였다.

탄성체의 에너지 변환을 이용한 점프 로봇의 기구변수 최적화 (Kinematic Parameter Optimization of Jumping Robot Using Energy Conversion of Elastic Body)

  • Various jumping robot platforms have been developed to carry out missions such as rescues, explorations, or inspections of dangerous environments. We suggested a jumping robot platform using energy conversion of the elastic body like the bar of a pole vault, which is the main part in which elastic force occurs. The compliant link was optimized by an optimization method based on Taguchi methodology, and the robot's leaping ability was improved. Among the parameters, the length, width, and thickness of the link were selected as design variables first while the others were fixed. The level of the design variables was settled, and an orthogonal array about its combination was made. In the experiment, dynamic simulations were conducted using the DAFUL program, and response table and sensitivity analyses were performed. We found optimized values through a level average analysis and sensitivity analysis. As a result, the maximum leaping height of the optimized robot increased by more than 6.2% compared to the initial one, and these data will be used to design a new robot.
