COLOR CORRECTION METHOD USING GRAY GRADIENT BAR FOR MULTI-VIEW CAMERA SYSTEM

  • Due to the different camera properties of the multi-view camera system, the color properties of captured images can be inconsistent. This inconsistency makes post-processing such as depth estimation, view synthesis and compression difficult. In this paper, the method to correct the different color properties of multi-view images is proposed. We utilize a gray gradient bar on a display device to extract the color sensitivity property of the camera and calculate a look-up table based on the sensitivity property. The colors in the target image are converted by mapping technique referring to the look-up table. Proposed algorithm shows the good subjective results and reduces the mean absolute error among the color values of multi-view images by 72% on average in experimental results.

  • An on-line algorithm that discriminates brown rice kernels on their echelon feeder using color image processing is presented for quality inspection. A rapid color image segmentation algorithm based on Bayesian clustering method was developed by means of the look-up table which was made from the significant clusters selected by experts. A robust estimation method was presented to improve the stability of color clusters. Discriminant analysis of color distributions was employed to distinguish nine types of brown rice kernels. Discrimination accuracies of the on-line discrimination algorithm were ranged from 72% to 85% for the sound, cracked, green-transparent and green-opaque, greater than 93% for colored, red, and unhulled, about 92% for white-opaque and 67% for chalky, respectively.

  • This paper concerns the implementation of a digital neural network which performs the high speed operation of Hopfield model's arithmetic operation. It is also designed to use a look-up table and produce floating point arithmetic of nonlinear function with high speed operation. The arithmetic processing of Hopfleld is able to describe the matrix-vector operation, which is adaptable to design the array processor because of its recursive and iterative operation .The proposed method is expected to be applied to the field of real neural networks because of the realization of the current VLSI techniques.

  • In this paper, search-efficient Bi-directional-Chord(B-Chord) is proposed in P2P (peer-to-Peer) overlay network. Chord is the most popular P2P Look-up protocol. However, it applied to the mobile environment, the search success rate become lower and the request delay time increases. That is big problem. Thus, by improving the existing Chord, in this paper proposed B-Chord reduces the request delay time to in a mobile environment. Proposed B-Chord have the two Finger table and can search by selecting Finger table depending on the value of Key. By use these bi-directional, it can reduce the number of nodes Hop and search delay time. Thus, As a result, it will be able to increase the search success rate in a mobile environment.

A VLSI Implementation of Color Gamut Mapping Method for Real-Time Display Quality Enhancement

  • The color gamut mapping method that is used for enhancing the color reproduction quality between PC monitor and printer devices is adopted for display quality enhancement. The high definition display devices operate at the clock speed of around $70\;MHz\;\sim\;150\;MHz$ and permit several nano seconds for real-time processing. Thus, the concept of three-dimensional reduced resolution look-up table is used. The required hardware can be greatly reduced by look-up table resolution adjustment. The proposed hardware architecture is successfully implemented in ASIC and also successfully adopted in display quality enhancement purposes.

  • The high definition digital TV display devices need real-time gamut mapping. This paper proposes a gamut mapping algorithm that used three dimensional reduced resolution look up table and tetrahedral interpolation for real-time processing. The proposed hardware architecture is successfully implemented in FPGA and ASIC.

  • Overdriving schemes are used to improve the response time of liquid crystal display. Typically they are implemented by using LUTs (look-up table) within an image processor. However, the size of LUT is limited by the physical memory size and system cost. In this paper, we present an improved method for LUT implementation using linear interpolation and piecewise least-square polynomial regression. Using the proposed method, the performance of LUT can be improved and memory size of that can be reduced.

  • 본 논문에서는 PMSM 제어를 위한 Look-up Table 사용시 적용되는 인터폴레이션 개선기법에 대하여 설명한다. PMSM은 약계자 영역에서 속도 증가에 따라 전류제한원의 영향에 의해 q축 전류가 감소하는 운전을 하게 된다. 기존의 PMSM 약계자 영역에서는 Look-up Table을 이용한 제어시 d,q축 전류 데이터 부족에 의해 선형 인터폴레이션 구간이 늘어나기 때문에 지령과 실제 전류에 오차가 발생하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 약계자 영역에서 q축 전류 보상기를 통해 선형 인터폴레이션에 의해 발생하는 오차를 보상하는 전류제어 방법에 대하여 제안한다.

A Look-Up Table Based Error Diffusion Algorithm for Dynamic False Contour Reduction of Plasma Display Panels

  • PDP(plasma display panel) represents the gray levels by the pulse number modulation technique that results in undesirable dynamic false contours on moving images. This paper proposes a LUT(Look-up table) based error diffusion algorithm for reduction of the dynamic false contours. A quantitative measure of the dynamic false contours is defined first. The measure of the dynamic false contours is calculated through simulation of every gray level combination of two consecutive frames. Based on the calculated measures, a modified gray level for a pair of gray levels of two consecutive frames is chosen to reduce the dynamic false contours. The chosen gray levels serve as contents of a gray level conversion LUT. Given a pair of gray levels of two consecutive frames, the gray level of current frame is modified based on the gray level conversion LUT. The new gray level is displayed on PDP. An error diffusion algorithm is, then, applied to compensate for the differences in the gray levels.

  • Accurate aerodynamic data is required for the flight simulation or control logic design of aircraft. The aerodynamic look-up table has been used widely to provide aerodynamic forces and moments for given flight conditions. In this paper, we replace the aerodynamic look-up table with real-time aerodynamic model which calculates aerodynamic forces and moments of quasi-steady flow directly for given flight conditions and control surface deflections. Flight simulations are conducted for the low-speed small UAV using real-time aerodynamic model, and responses of the UAV are predicted successfully for inputs of control surfaces.
