A Reinforcement Learning with CMAC

  • To implement a generalization of value functions in Adaptive Search Element (ASE)-reinforcement learning, CMAC (Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller) is integrated into ASE controller. ASE-reinforcement learning scheme is briefly studied to discuss how CMAC is integrated into ASE controller. Neighbourhood Sequential Training for CMAC is utilized to establish the look-up table and to produce discrete control outputs. In computer simulation, an ASE controller and a couple of ASE-CMAC neural network are trained to balance the inverted pendulum on a cart. The number of trials until the controllers are established and the learning performance of the controllers are evaluated to find that generalization ability of the CMAC improves the speed of the ASE-reinforcement learning enough to realize the cartpole control system.

DSSS 수신기에서 동기탐색을 위한 고속 정합필터 (A High-Speed Matched Filter for Searching Synchronization in DSSS Receiver)

  • 본 논문에서는 DSSS (Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) 수신기에서 초기동기 탐색에 사용될 수 있는 정합필터에 대해서 연구하였다. 하드웨어기술언어 (HDL)로 정합필터를 구현하기 위한 모델이 제시되었다. 제안된 모델은 고속 처리를 위해 병렬처리와 파이프라인 구조를 기반으로 하는데 환형버퍼, 곱셈기, 덧셈기, 코드참조표 등으로 구성되어 있다. 제안된 모델에 대해 성능을 분석하였고 일반적인 DSP (Digital Signal Processor)로 구현할 경우와 비교하였다. 제안된 모델을 FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array)상에 구현하였고 타이밍 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해서 동작을 검증하였다.

8/10 베어링리스 SRM의 고속 직접전류제어 (High Speed Direct Current Control for the 8/10 Bearingless SRM)

  • Novel 8/10 bearingless switched reluctance motor, which can control rotor radial positions with magnetic force, is proposed. The motor has combined characteristics of switched reluctance motor and magnetic bearing. This paper proposes a air-gap control system method of suspending force control in a bearingless switched reluctance motor (BLSRM). The proposed radial force control scheme is independent to the torque winding current. A PI direct current control (DCC) controller and look-up table are used to maintain a constant rotor air-gap. From the analysis and the experimental results, it is shown that the proposed strategy is effective in realizing a naturally decoupled radial force control of BLSRM.

유도탄용 레이돔 시선각 오차 보정 기법 (A Method of Boresight Error Compensation for Missile Radome)

  • The radome boresight error degrades the microwave seeker ability and the missile guidance performance. It increases the miss distance, also. This paper propose a method of radome boresight error measurement and compensation. The compensation method consist of radome analysis and radome compensation. In the radome analysis stage, we can know that the electromagnetic characteristics distorted by radome. In the compensation stage, the look-up table is built and used for compensation. The test uses a FMS(Flight motion simulator) and adjusts the FMS setup error for more accuracy. The result shows that not using an elaborate radome measurement equipment, the radome boresight error is well compensated easily.

  • This paper describes the implementation of a fuzzy temperature measuring & control system to control the water temperature in plant. This system consisted of mainly three parts; sensing part, control part that includes a control algorithms introduced the fuzzy theory, and actuating part. The control algorithms of control part are utilized a look-up table method and firmware technique using one-chip microprocessor(89C52). For evaluating the performance of a fuzzy control system, the experiment results of a fuzzy controller are compared with these of a conventional PID controller which provides an auto-tuning function. The experiment results show that the proposed controller has a good control performance and is robust to external disturbance.

Testing and Self Calibration of RF Circuit using MEMS Switches

  • This paper presents testing and self-calibration of RF circuits using MEMS switches to identify process-related defects and out of specification circuits. We have developed a novel multi-tone dither test technique where the test stimulus is generated by modulating the RF carrier signal with a multi-tone signal generated using an Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) with additive white Gaussian noise. This test stimulus is provided as input to the RF circuit and peak-to-average ratio (PAR) is measured at the output. For a faulty circuit, a significant difference is observed in the value of PAR as compared to a fault-free circuit. Simulation is performed for various circuit conditions such as fault-free as well as fault-induced and their corresponding PARs are stored in the look-up table. This testing and self-calibration technique is exhaustive and efficient for present-day communication systems.

  • 정보통신의 발전에 따라 컴퓨터 및 주변 장치간에 칼라를 정확히 재생할 수 있는 능력이 산업 경쟁력에 중요한 요소로 부상하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모니터 상의 이미지를 프린터로 인쇄하기 위하여 사용되는 기존의 참조테이블(Look Up Table) 방식을 살펴보고 이 기능을 대체할 수 있는 신경회로망에 의한 칼라보정 매핑 방법을 제안하였다. 참조테이블 방식에서는 3차원으로 구성된 테이블을 구성하기가 쉽지 않고 구간 사이의 칼라값은 보간법을 써서 구해야 한다. 신경회로망에 의한 방법에서는 일단 학습을 완료하면 실시간으로 칼라를 보정해 주는 장점이 있다. 실험에서는 두 가지 방법에 의한 칼라 샘플의 모델을 통한 결과 값을 비교해 보고 상호간의 장단점과 성능 향상을 위한 방법을 토의하였다.

A Hybrid DTC-DSC Drive for High Performance Induction Motor Control

  • This paper describes a hybrid induction motor drive system incorporating DTC-hysteresis and Direct Self Control (DSC) schemes to achieve excellent dynamic performance. The control scheme is switched from a circular to a hexagonal flux locus whenever a dynamic condition is encountered. On the other hand, when the motor operates under steady state conditions, a circular flux locus is used. Without major modifications to the simple structure of a basic DTC, hexagonal flux locus operation is established by modifying the flux error status, before it is fed to the look-up table. The feasibility of the proposed hybrid scheme to achieve excellent control performance is verified by experimental results.

  • In this paper, we are proposed ATM AAL 1 source clock recovery methods for CBR service. The proposed method compute the difference between network clock level and the reference level by inspecting the variation of a buffer. Also it is the service clock recovery method that control local clock using the look-up table defined clock dividing rate of the difference in advance. It can be applicable to both SDH network and PDH network which has no common reference clock between its ends, it has an important mean in view of the internetworking between existing networks for the integrated service chased by B_ISDN.

온도제어를 위한 단상용 Fuzzy TPR 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Single-phase Fuzzy TPR for temperature control)

  • This paper proposes a Fuzzy TPR having the control function to a TPR used for the conversion of electricity in industrial field. The Fuzzy TPR based on the Fuzzy Logic Control technique is composed of the parts to calculate the low-level value and the high-level value. These values are calculated by error and change in error which are refer to the look-up table. To show the usefulness of the proposed Fuzzy TPR, it is applied to industrial temperature control system. In the results of experiment, we see that the system is able to fast reach steady-state, and for our approach to be robust to external disturbance than the method using the conventional TPR.
