  • To accomplish international electronic commerce via the Internet, the most serious dilemma is the international payment system. The BBL is a secure and effective electronic commerce framework for the replacement of traditional paper documents by electronic messages via the Internet providing significant benefits in terms of cost savings, improved logistics and reduced errors in documentation. The most important legal obstacles in the BBL are how to secure authenticity, non-repudiation and message integrity as well as the status of negotiability equivalent to paper B/L. These kinds of functions may be carried out through the electronic title registry of the Bolero International Limited. The technical structure is supported contractually by the Bolero Rulebook. And other documents except B/L can be made out without any legal or technical problems. What are the handicaps of the BBL in its practical use at this time? I can summarize the current and expected problems as follows: First, the fee to join Bolero Association Limited is burdensome to sellers, buyers and trade related organizations all over the world. Second, the liability in errors or defaults in operating central data registry of Bolero International Limited is limited to U.S.$100,000. The amount is not sufficient to the many bulk cargo owners to cover the damages. Third, businessmen are used to traditional paper documents; therefore it takes much time for them to change their customs and practices. So the BBL and traditional papers would be used simultaneously for the time being. Finally, it is very important to incorporate the Rulebook, a multilateral contract binding on all users signed, in each domestic law, which will accomplish the uniform law basis.

  • The purposes of this study were to examine young women's fashion and their values in South Korea in the 1970s and to explore the dynamics of how the changes in values affected fashion. Fifteen Korean women who were college students in the 1970s were interviewed. With industrialization and acculturation to Western customs in the 1970s, Korean women's fashion reflected the permeation of new ideas and behaviors into the culture. New ideas of 'pursuing a career' or 'gaining professional success' rooted in the women's movement were most important and were reflected in the prevalence of casual and comfortable styles. However, 'having a good husband and being a good wife' was also important. In addition to the transition in gender roles, Korea was fast moving from a collectivist to an individualistic society and underwent the process of melding traditional and newly-adopted values in their acculturation to the West. This study helps us better understand Korea's acculturation process through dress and the dynamics involved between fashion and value changes.

  • The funeral and grave system in Korea has issued that our country will become a grave. This is a result of being in favor of the funeral and grave process of burial based on long time traditions and customs. The government is allowing construction and use of charnels on a large scale in order to improve this system after analyzing the problems of the current grave system; However, those results are very few and slight because the image of existing charnels have been regarded as abomination utilities and it has been projected not to be closed to the public easily. In this stduy, we first looked at these problems using sample research and analysis. Second, we made comparisons and analysis to suggest solutions in the projecting method and feature of those spaces by carrying out a sample research project. This project was based on 3 of the biggest charnels built recently, which are out of the 54 charnels in Korea. After assaying the image according to the interior designing elements, and then proposing various several alternatives, we would like to tell how to build the future-oriented and opened charnels as the purpose of this study. Therefore, when projecting charnels, we would like to suggest the alternative solution that diminishes abomonation and closeness in the interior of the charnel through the designing consideration and increases the usage of this building by inducing traditional limitations and maintaining vertical dignity and piety by making the central axis adapting to the nature.

  • Information sources about Mongolian pigtail of 13-14C are relatively rich. But it was difficult to estimate the shape of the pigtail in detail with the descriptions in historical writing or travel books only, and paintings were neither enough to observe the beautiful shape of the pigtail closely on the whole because the portrayed characters were always wearing their hats. However, the authors could trace the detailed shape of the pigtail of 13-14C through close investigation into Mongolian stone statue of the period. In conclusion, the authors performed a comparative study by historically comparing the historical writings, archeological materials, ethnological materials and figurative arts featuring medieval Mongolian pigtail. And the authors paid careful attention to the meaning of those materials to the hairdo history. Historically nothern minority races have become assimilated with surrounding races in language, culture and customs through long economical and cultural exchange, and today their national traits gradually fade away by globalization. But each minority race still stands independently and maintain its own traditional culture. only recently began the study by Korean researchers on Mongolian pigtail, and there is still much to be discussed in ethnological issues such as racial pedigree.

  • Nowadays port has changed so rapidly as other economic variables. The main issues of these changes are classified with some problems such as the progress of containerization and enlargement of ship size and its speed, the introduction and expansion of EDI system, and the inducement of private capital in port development. Therefore, the competition among ports is severer than before, especially in container cargos. Almost all ports try to strengthen their competitive power and enlarge their port performance and throughput through many kinds of efforts and strategies. Port marketing is important approach and methods in order to make understand port and make call on their ports, of course, realizing the importance of port for the regional economics and employment generation. In this paper, the various marketing concepts are redefined and applied in terms of port and shipping service with which marketing is not so much popular and familiar. After many diagnoses and investigations are executed with special logistical viewpoints and attention, this paper suggests some countermeasures of port marketing in the angles of 4Ps. The strategies and countermeasures are classified in 3 stages according to their broadness and specificity. The privatization of port and port competition need the renovation and rationalization of traditional port activities and old port operation customs. Although this paper suggest many ideas with focusing Busan port, these ideas will be used in other ports. I think it is necessary further study concerned this topics and some limitations which this paper contains.
