인터넷을 이용한 용접에 대한 연구 (A study on welding by using internet)

  • In welding, there is much dangerous element. Workers who are exposed to working field of welding may be infected with industrial diseases. To solve these problems, many studies has been carried out. It is a good method to make welding automation in the distance and internet makes it possible. If internet is used, welding can be carried out without the limitation of time and place. On this study, welding by using internet is studied. By using internet, computer which has interface with welding machine is connected to computer in the distance and welding is carried out with the signal of computer in the distance. Basically the connection of computers is made by two program-Server and client windows program-which have functions which are needed for control of XYZ table and welding machine. Through these program, the motion of welding torch which was mounted on XYZ table, the starting and ending of welding is controlled and monitored with a camera. Also, signal-welding current and arc voltage-is measured and displayed.

박판 맞대기 용접에서 전자기식 센서를 이용한 용접선 자동 추적 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on Automatic Seam Tracking System Using Electro-Magnetic Sensor for Sheet Metal Arc Welding of Butt Joints)

  • In this study, a magnetic sensor to make use of eddy current was developed to detect the weld seam of butt joint in the sheet metal arc welding. This system consist of the sensor device for detecting the weld line, the servo control device for driving the weld torch movement and the control unit. A signal processing was applied to smooth the output signal of the sensor. The weld joint was determined by using a 1st order differential method. To improve tracking accuracy of the system, moving average method which has an effect of proportional and weighted integral control was applied to a series of the weld joint positions obtained above. The weld line for tracking was generated by using data regeneration algorithm. Based on these results, each servo motor was controlled by pulse generator. From experimental results, it was revealed that this system has excellent detecting ability for weld line and seam tracking ability.

  • 용접은 자동차, 중공업, 조선, 건설, 항공 등 주요 기간산업의 기반기술로서, 금속가공분야 가운데 특히 접합부문에 특별한 의미를 내포하고 있다. 그러나 기반기술로서의 중요성도 불구하고 국 내산업전반에서의 용접은 비교적 낙후된 모습을 보이고 있는 것이 부인할 수 없는 실정이다. 용접이란, 금속가공의 일개공정을 의미하는 용어로 간단히 정의될 수 있지만 용접공정이 원만히, 성공적으로 수행되기 위한 준비되고 연구되어야 할 분야는 매우 복잡하고 다양한 양상을 띄고 있는데 우선, 모재와 용가재를 용해하기 위한 열원으로서는 전기에너지, 화학연소 에너지, LASER, 가속전자, PLASMA가 응용되고 있으며 그 에너지를 유효하게 용접에 이용하기 위한 주변장치로서는 TORCH, JIG, 각종 전자적 SENSOR각 활용되고 있다. 또한, 모재의 재질에 따른 용접재료와 소모성자재의 선택이 부수적으로 따르게 되어 각각의 분야에는 그 특성에 준 하는 학문적 이론이 광범위하게 적용되고 있다. 각종 구조물 제작이 용접의 최종적인 목적이라고 할 때, 제작에 따른 재료와 모재형상, 그리고 각종 기능적 요구에 부합하기 위한 열원, 재료, 용접방법, 검사방법등의 선택은 종합적인 학문적 이론과 실제적 응용이 뒷받침 돼야 함을 전제 로써, 본고에는 용접전반의 문제중, 전기용접기기 및 용접관련 자동화 설비의 현주소 파악과 문 제의 접근측면에서만 간단히 기술하고자 한다.

GMA 용접공정에서 적외선 온도 센서를 이용한 용융지 크기 예측 (Weld pool size estimation of GMAW using IR temperature sensor)

  • A quality monitoring system in butt welding process is proposed to estimate weld pool sizes. The geometrical parameters of the weld pool such as the top bead width and the penetration depth plus half back width are utilized to prove the integrity of the weld quality. The monitoring variables used are the surface temperatures measured at three points on the top surface of the weldment. The temperature profile is assumed that it has a gaussian distribution in vertical direction of torch movement and verify this assumption through temperature analysis. A neural network estimator is designed to estimate weld pool size from temperature informations. The experimental results show that the proposed neural network estimator which used gaussian distribution as temperature information can estimate the weld pool sizes accurately than used three point temperatures as temperature information. Considering the change of gap size in butt welding, the experiment were performed on various gap size.

Removal of OH Spectral Interferences from Aqueous Solvents in Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES) with Ar Cryogenic Desolvation

  • The spectral interferences of OH from aqueous solvents in ICP-AES have been studied and eliminated using a cryogenic argon trap. The prominent lines of Bi I 306.772 nm, Al I 309.271 nm, and V II 310.230 nm, which are very seriously overlapped with the OH band, were examined. With an extended torch and high tangential flow of 20 L/min, water vapor from air entrainment was prevented. The combination of a condenser and argon cryogenic trap was able to eliminated most of water vapor carried by the argon sample gas. Removal of OH spectral interference could extend the linearity of the calibration curve 5-10 times on the lower concentration for ICP-AES. Interference Equivalent Concentration (IEC) has been reduced to 5.6, 5.9, and 12.4 times for Bi, Al and V, respectively.

자동 아크 용접공정의 용접개선변수 측정을 위한 시각 시스템 (Development of a vision sensor for measuring the weld groove parameters in arc welding process)

  • In conventional arc welding, position error of the weld torch with respect to the weld seam and variation of groove dimension are induced by inaccurate fitup and fixturing. In this study, a vision system has been developed to recognize and compensate the position error and dimensional inaccuracy. The system uses a structured laser light illuminated on the weld groove and perceived by a C.C.D camera. A new algorithm to detect the edge of the reflected laser light is introduced for real time processing. The developed system was applied to arbitarary weld paths with various types of joint in arc welding process. The experimental results show that the proposed system can detect the weld groove parameters within good accuracy and yield good tracking performance.

플라즈마 용사층에 발생하는 응력해석 (Analysis of thermal stresses developed in plasma sprayed layer)

  • The formation of thermal stresses by plasma spraying is generally considered as adverse. Therefore, the knowledge of stress distribution in the deposited layer during and after plasma spraying will be of special interest. In this study finite difference heat transfer analysis and finite element stress analysis were carried out to predict the change of stress distribution in the plasma coated layer with the variations of preheat temperature, number of scan, particle size, and bond coat. The results of the numerical analysis were as follows: 1) Transient stresses developed in the coated layer were up to the level of yiedl strength at the temperature. 2) The tensile stresses were developed in the deposited layer and the surface of the substrate, but the compressive stresses were developed in the rest of the substrate. 3) Transient and residual stresses were significantly affected by the preheat temperature. 4) The variations of temperature of powder particle and number of torch scan changed tensile stress distribution, but made no difference on the magnitude of the stresses. 5) Bond coated layer reduced the stree level of deposited layer.

Mechanical Properties & Ablation Mechanism of SiC Coated Carbon/Carbon Composite by Pack-cementation Method

  • The pack-cementation process is the method which is formed SiC coating layer to improve weak oxidation properties of CFRCs (carbon fiber-reinforced carbons). This method develops the anti-oxidation coating layer having no dimensional changes and good wetting properties. In this study to improve the oxidative resistance of the prepared 4D CFRCs, the surface of CFRCs is coated by SiC using pack cementation method. The mechanical properties of SiC-coated 4D CFRCs are measured by the 3-point bending test, and their ablation properties are investigated by the arc torch plasma test. From the results, it is found that both mechanical and ablation properties of SiC-coated 4D CFRCs are much better than bare CFRCs.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a powerful 6-axes general welding robot utilizing a low cost vision system. The developed vision system is composed of a CCD camera, a PC with windows 98 OS, and a PC-Robot communication program using Visual C++. A test was carried out to investigate whether the welding torch can precisely follow up the welding path. It shows that the result of this study can readily be applied to practical welding operations.

  • Due to the variety of disturbance, it is not ease to accomplish the in-process detection of weld line with non-contact sensor. To get around this difficulties problem develop an automatic seam tracking weld system, the reliable signal processing algorithm has been recommanded. In this research, laser displacement sensor is applied as a seam finder in the automatic tracking system. The sensor is controlled by a dc servo motor which is mounted at X-Y moving table. X-Y moving table manipulated by an ac servo motor controls the position and velocity of the welding torch. First, X-Y table moves to Y-axis to search the welding joint feature before starting the welding, and welding joint is from the scanning data and weighting factor for each other. Second, weld line is determined using proposed signal processing algorithm during welding process. Form the experimental results, we could see the possibility that laser displacement sensor with procesed algorithm can be used as a seam finder in welding process under the severe noise (spatter,arc light etc.) condition
