This paper describes a technique for complete identification of a two-dimensional scattering object and multiple objects immersed in air using microwaves where the scatterers are assumed to be a homogenous dielectric medium. The employed technique consists of initially retrieving the shape and position of the scattering object using a linear sampling method and then determining the electric permittivity and conductivity of the scatterer using adjoint sensitivity analysis. Incident waves are assumed to be TM (Transverse Magnetic) plane waves. This inversion algorithm results in high computational speed and efficiency, and it can be generalized for any scatterer structure. Also, this method is robust with respect to noise. The numerical results clearly show that this hybrid approach provides accurate reconstructions of various objects.

In this paper, we proposed a new algorithm of the inverse scattering for the reconstruction of unknown dielectric scatterers using the finite-difference time-domain method and the design sensitivity analysis. We introduced the design sensitivity analysis based on the gradient information for the fast convergence of the reconstruction. By introducing the adjoint variable method for the efficient calculation, we derived the adjoint variable equation. As an optimal algorithm, we used the steepest descent method and reconstructed the dielectric targets using the iterative estimation. To verify our algorithm, we will show the numerical examples for the two-dimensional $TM^2$ cases.

A rigorous analysis of the scattering problem by the perfectly conducting strip loaded with a dielectric cylinder of different permittivity is presented. By introducing auxiliary electromagnetic fields and applying the reciprocity theorem, integral equations for the unknown electric field are derived. These integral equations are transformed into an equivalent matrix equation of infinite order with proper boundary conditions. By calculating inverse matrix of unknown coefficients from this equation, scattered electric fields are determined. In particular case of the dielectric with the same permittivity, the results of this paper correspond to well-known results.

Generally, the properties of metamaterials are analyzed based on the infinite array of the unit cells. In real application of the metamaterial, however, the array has to be finite. Hence, it is important that a method can analyze the effect of the finite array of the metamaterial. In this paper, a model is proposed which can calculate the scattering by a large-size finite array of an I-shaped metamaterial without a full-wave simulation. The proposed model is based on the surface current estimation of each unit cells. The ratio of the current distribution on a finite array of the metamaterial to that of the infinite array of the same metamaterial for a TM polarized incident wave is approximated as a quartic polynomial. The coefficients of the polynomial are a function of the physical dimension of the metallic patch. Hence, the current distribution of the finite metamaterial can be estimated based on the proposed polynomial and the current of the infinite array. The scattered field is calculated by using the surface current model. The proposed model is numerically and experimentally verified by comparing calculated and measured RCS(Radar Cross Section) data.

Landsat TM band ratio algorithms were made by in-water optical measurement data of each sampling points for water quality monitoring of coastal area using Landsat TM satellite data. The algorithm was derived from in-water optical reflectance data which was measuring by the PRR(profiling reflectance radiometer). And, in-water optical reflectance data were applied to Landsat TM bands. Relationship between in-water optical reflectance and pigments proposed by the ratio of TM band 1 and band 2 showed to as follows; $Y=3.8352{\times}(R(band\;1)/R(band\;2))^{-2.1978}$ ($R^2$=0.7069) and, relationship of the ratio of TM band 1 and band 3 as follows; $Y=23.288{\times}(R(band\;1)/R(band\;3))^{-1.5243}$ ($R^2$=0.8062). Calculated the upwelling radiance of water surface and radiance of TM showed the ratio of atmospheric effect. In the coastal area Rayleigh and Mie scattering of atmosphere is to make over 80% of normalized radiance of Landsat TM. In order to apply in-water algorithm obtained by PRR, we had to calculate the atmospheric effects at sampling site. And, the quantitative analysis of in-water components using Landsat TM data need the calibration of in-water algorithm and effective method of atmospheric correction.

The distributing current is calculated on the infinit plane mattaric grattings for the TM waves. The matrix is larger, when the moment method is applied this structure. So, the moment method of this case is required large memory and long CPU times. Those boundary condition and the scattering formura are transformed into spectal domain. Taking account of the peridic structure, this formular is changed in a series form by using the Flouquet mode. By making a suitable basis function, this equation is expreseed matrix form. So the distributing current on the mattaric strip is able to caculate by using this equation. We calculate magnitude of the distributing current for varing these spaces, widthes and an angle of incident waves.
In this paper, The TE(transverse electric) scattering problems by a resistive strip grating over a grounded dielectric plane with edge boundary condition are analyzed by applying the FGMM(Fourier-Galerkin Moment Method) known as a numerical procedure. For a TE scattering problem, the induced surface current density is expected to the zero value at both edges of the resistive strip, then the induced surface current density on the resistive strip is expanded in a series of the multiplication of Gegenbauer(Ultraspherical) polynomials with the first order and functions of appropriate edge boundary condition. To verify the validity of the proposed method, the numerical results of normalized reflected power for the uniform resistivity R = 100 ohms/square and R = 0 as a conductive strip case show in good agreement with those in the existing papers.
Large-scale coastal construction projects, such as land reclamation and dykes, were constructed from the late twentieth century in Yoobu-Do region. Land reclamation combined with the dynamics of tidal currents may have accelerated local sedimentation and erosion resulting in rapid reformation of coastal topography. This study presents the results of the topography changes around Yoobu-Do by large-scale coastal constructions using time-series waterline extraction technique of Landsat TM/ETM+ data acquired from 1998 to 2012. Furthermore, the Freeman-Durden decomposition was applied to fully polarimetric RADARSAT-2 SAR data in order to analyze the scattering mechanisms of the deposited surface. According to the case study, the deposition areas were over 4.5 $km^2$ and distributed in the east, northeast, and west of Yoobu-Do. In the eastern deposition area, it was found that the scattering mechanism was difference from other deposition areas possibly indicating that different types of soil were deposited.

We calculate the distribution of the current on the strip by the incident waves on the infinite conducting strip line. The boundary equations represented as the spatial domain function become very complicated equations including convolution integral. Transformed it to the spectral domain, we have a very simple equation is composed by some algebraic multiplication of the current density function and Green's function. the acceleration of iteration procedure is achieved by Kastner's method. The result of iteration gives us the optimum value when it satisfies the iteration stop condition presented in this paper. We confirmed that the induced current density distribution on the stripline has been changed as variaties of the width.
Recently, there are a lot of studies to use a satellite image data in order to investigate a simultaneous change of a wide range area as a lake. However, many cases of a water quality research occur as problem when we try to extract the water quality factors from the satellite image data, because of the atmosphere scattering exert as bad influence on a result of analysis. In this study, and attempt was made to select the relative atmospheric correction method for the water quality factors extraction from the satellite image data. And also, the time-series analysis of the water quality factors extraction from the satellite image data. And also, the time-series analysis of the water quality factors was performed by using the multi-temporal image data.
