The intracavitary cones were designed which were made of stainless steel and have scratched inside cone to be generated electron scatter and designed to be attached easily to the LINAC collimator and controlled cones length to be contacted smoothly between the patient and the cone tip. Two types of intracavitary cones were designed. One is the straight end cones with circular opening on the distal end and the other is 30 degree beveled end cones with elliptical opening on the distal end. Each type of intracavitary cone ranged in daimeter from 2.5 cm to 3.5 cm and required a separate set of lower trimmer annulias cone diameter. The film phantom was designed with an internal cassette that accurately aligned the film edge with the film phantom surface. Film optical density data were measured by photodensitometer(Wellhofer 700i) Dosimetry measurements were made to commission the LINAC for 6 - 20 MeV electron using the intracavitary cones. Isodose curves were measured for all energy and cones combinations. Output is defined as the maximum dose per MU along the clinical central axis in water at 113 cm SSD. Calibration output, defined to be the output for the 15cm$\times$15cm diameter straight cone, was adjusted to 1.00 cGy/MU at each energy according to the TG-21 protocol.
To investigate the effects of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and/or exercise on body fat mass and weight, college women of normal weight (2130%) were recruited for this study. The participants were divided into 4 groups: placebo-no exercise, placebo-exercise, CLA-no exercise, and CLA-exercise groups. Three grams of either a placebo (corn oil) or CLA were taken every day for 12 weeks, and the exercise groups performed 80 minutes of aerobic and anaerobic exercise three times a week for 12 weeks. There were no differences in nutrient intakes among the groups. The CLA-exercise group had significantly lower body weight, BMI and body fat mass compared to the placebo-no exercise group. In addition, the HDL-cholesterol levels of subjects in the CLA-no exercise and CLA-exercise groups significantly increased compared to those in the placebo-no exercise group. These results suggest that a combination of CLA supplementation with exercise could efficiently reduce body fat mass and body weight compared to CLA supplementation or exercise alone.
Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate correlation between short stature and obese degree. And we also wanted to know the characteristics of patients visited clinic in the name of 'short stature'. Methods Height, body weight, BMI, fat mass, lean body mass, percent body fat were taken intended for 236 patients in the name of short stature. Purpose In nuclear medicine blood tests, hemolysis samples are considered as inappropriate sample and are recommended not to be used for blood test. So, the lab are required to collect the blood again in the blood collection room However, The effect of hemolyzed samples on radioimmunoassay has not studied yet. This study was designed to evaluate effects of hemolysis on radioimmunoassay. Materials and Methods The kit manuals of 23 test items were reviewed to confirm whether hemolyzed samples were used. The subjects were 19 general applicants(male : 9, female : 13) and the samples were collected by each two SST tubes, one tube was obtained by centrifugation normally, and the other was obtained hemolyzed sample by centrifugation after external shock. It has been known that highly hemolyzed samples can affect the test results, so the test was performed using the severe hemolyzed sample. The test was performed for each test item using 23 normal serum and hemolysis serum, and SPSS19 program was used for statistical comparison of the test result. Results There was no significant difference between normal serum and hemolysis serum in 21 of 23 test items, but the results of insulin and C-peptide were significantly different(P<0.05). Conclusion It has been known that hemolysis in blood samples can affect the results of biochemical and hematological test, However, hemolysis effect is relatively low. Similarly, this study showed that hemolysis had not much effect on most of immunological radioimmunoassay except for some tests. Therefore, it is thought that the demand for re-collection due to hemolysis will be reduced in the laboratory, which will improve the work process of the laboratory.

However The ratio of leptin expression per ${\beta}-actin$ expression showed no significant difference among all the treatment groups. Conclusions: According to above results, in lowering lipid effect, anti-oxidation and control of pro-inflammatory cytokines production, Ojeoksangamibang($W{\check{u}}j\bar{i}s\check{a}nji\bar{a}w\grave{e}if\bar{a}ng$) gives effect.
Purpose : High-Sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) has been recognized as a very useful and sensitive predictor of the future risk of myocardial infarction. But the clinical significance of hs-CRP in children remains uncertain. To confirm the existence of obesity-induced vascular inflammation and the association between metabolic syndromes and elevation of CRP in children, we investigated the relationship among CRP, obesity, blood pressure(BP), and serum lipids in schoolboys. Methods : Twenty-eight obese(BMI $29.61{\pm}3.29kg/m^2$) and 93 non-obese(BMI $18.99{\pm}2.21kg/m^2$) boys aged 14 years were examined. Serum CRP levels was measured by the high sensitive latex turbidimetric immunoassay and subjects with CRP levels below 0.3 mg/dL were adopted to avoid the influence of acute infection. Results : Obese children had significantly higher hs-CRP levels than their non-obese group($0.104{\pm}0.075$ vs. $0.054{\pm}0.005mg/dL$). In the obese group, BMI, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, apolipoprotein B, atherogenic index, and triglyceride were significantly higher than in nonobese. The BMI, diastolic blood pressure, apolipoprotein E, atherognic index, and triglyceride showed positive correlation with log CRP by simple regression. Multiple regression analysis indicated that BMI and apolipoprotein E were strongly related to CRP. Conclusion : This study revealed that obese children tended to have higher levels of serum hsCRP, BP elevation and dyslipidemia than the control group and that BMI and apolipoprotein E were strongly related to CRP. These results indicate that obesity related metabolic syndrome can be developed in children.
Objectives : This study was conducted to examine the effects on food intake, body weight, and metabolic parameters by amisulpride administration in male and female mice, comparing the effects of risperidone and vehicle administration. Methods : Female and male C57BL/6 mice were grouped into low dose amisulpride(1.5mg/kg), high dose amisulpride(15mg/kg), risperidone(0.1mg/kg) and vehicle. Drugs were administered once daily through intraperitoneal injection over 21days. Body weight was measured weekly and food intake was measured daily. Levels of triglyceride, glucose, insulin and prolactin were determined at the end of experiment(on day 22). Results : In the female mice, low and high dose amisulpride as well as risperidone caused significant weight gains. But weight gains in amisulpride groups were numerically smaller than that of risperidone group. In male mice, only high dose amisulpride caused significant weight gain. Among weight gain groups, only weight gain of male mice with high dose amisulpride was significantly associated with increased food intake. Weight gain group in female mice did not show significant correlation with food intake. In male mice, both amisulpride groups showed significantly high plasma insulin levels compared to vehicle. In female and male mice, low and high dose amiulpride groups showed significant high plasma prolactin levels compared to vehicle. Triglyceride level were not significantly changed in all groups. Glucose level was changed significantly only in male risperidone group. Conclusions : Administration of amisulpride caused more significant weight gains in female and male mice than controls but changes of metabolic parameters were different according to sex of mice. Our results suggest that different mechanisms of amisulpiride are likely to affect weight gain between male and female mice.
To evaluate the physiological status of laying flocks, the blood chemistry values were measured and analyzed in various ages under different feeding conditions. Total 671 birds from 48 Hyline brown hens flocks from 13 different poultry farms were bled at the ages of day(s) 1, 11, 21, 50, 80, 120, 180, 240, 300, 400, and 500. The 17 blood chemistries including glucose, lipids, proteins, enzymes, electrolytes and metabolic by-products were measured with an autoanalyzer. Blood glucose showed the highest at the hatching day not relate with the dietary carbohydrates and energy, but tended to decrease during the rest of growth stage in hens. Total blood protein, albumin and globulin increased depending on the ages even though dietary protein was decreased. Blood lipid was greatly changed at different growth stages. Cholesterol was the highest at hatching period and maintained consistently until the 120 days of age. It was increased in birds after 180 days of age. HDL was also highest in hatchery, but decreased greatly after 180 days of age. However, TG was the lowest at one day old, but was increased up to 10 times after 180 days of age compared to that of one day old. The enzyme activities were different. AST, ALT, and GGT showed comparatively contained consistently, whereas amylase was slowly decreased. Blood P, Na, K and Cl showed consistency, but Ca content was increased upto two times of the one day of age. The results from this study showed that the blood chemistry values were affected by the general metabolic status of the host with ages not by feeding conditions. Further, the standard data of age-dependent blood chemistry values in the laying flocks were obtained, which can be utilized for early detection of the changes in the physiological status occurred by the infectious or metabolic diseases. The results of these analyses seemed to be useful to increase the productivity of laying flocks through rapid and proper veterinary medical treatments.
