The objective of this research was to explore the influences of 'having a meal with someone' on individuals' eating pattern. Eating is not a simple matter of energy intake but also serves to anchor daily routines being cultivated by people and society. This study was conducted using a cross-sectional eating behavior survey of university students (N = 893, 380 men, 513 women) aged 20 to 24 years. Results were analyzed and presented as frequencies, means and ${\chi}^2$-test with SPSS 14.0. Differences in dietary habits by commensality and solo-eating were observed; Students who ate alone, spent 15 min for a meal and ate convenience food items when they didn't feel hungry. Compared to students who ate alone, those who ate together with someone spent 30 min for a meal and ate more amount of food. Eighty percent of respondents ate more various menus in commensality than solo-eating. They felt lonely when they ate alone and preferred to eat together. In conclusion, university students start to decide and select their own meals by themselves after junior and high school food services which are fixed with regard to menu and the amount. Dietary habits of Koreans rapidly changed concomitant with social changes over the past half century. Governments and health experts recognize that unbalanced meals cause lifestyle-related diseases, in particular obesity. Our research findings will contribute to more comprehensive efficient nutrition education programs in order to prevent obesity and other lifestyle-related diseases in early stages of adulthood.
The growth characteristics of creeping bentgrass seeded in the seaside landfill golf course are as follows. 1. As a result of analysis on the chemical characteristics of soil mixture used for turfgrass ground in this experiment, soil pH was 7.9, which is somewhat higher than the creeping bentgrass reference value of pH 5.5∼6.5; T-N(%) was 0.02, which is proper for the reference value, and trace element too lacked. 2. The cultivar with the fastest water infiltration was Seaside II recorded as 226.2cm/sec, while that with the slowest water infiltration was Pennlinks recorded as 141.1 cm/hr which was too faster than the USGA water infiltration reference value of 15∼30cm/hr. For the surface hardness of turfgrass ground with different cultivars, no statistically significant variation was found between the Penncross grass and the Pennlinks recorded as 18.6mm and 19.1 mm, respectively. The soil penetration was the highest in Pennlinks recorded as 7.6kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and lowest in Penn A-1 as 6.1kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$. 3. As a result of evaluation on visual quality at the early stage of growth, Penncross showed the most excellent visual quality compared to the others. However, Penn A-1 showed the most excellent visual quality at a late stage of growth around Sep. 17, 2003, and it was also excellent in the evaluation of visual color. Seaside II showed higher density around the root and the longest root length and was highly resistant to salt compared to others, but the initial sprouting rate was not satisfied, and the visual quality in the summer season was inferior to others. 4. As a result of measurement of the traffic injury, Penncross showed the most tolerant to the traffic stress and Pennlinks showed the most susceptible.

From 1994 the cooperation between NEU of China and MJU of South Korea for study of ReBaCuO (Re=Rare earth elements) superconductors has been carried out. The progress has been got in following projects. Critical current density ($J_c$) of YBaCuO superconductor prepared by Melting Textured Growth (MTG) was improved. In the preparation of textured YBaCuO, 20 wt.% of YBaCuO 211 phase was added, which would be climactic for the microcracks in the textured YBaCuO. The effects of the 211 phase and Ag content on the superconductivity were studied and discussed in detail. The improved $J_c$ value was reached to 8$\times$10^4 A/cm^2 (77K,0T). Single phase $YbBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{x}$ superconductor was sintered by the traditional powder metallurgical method, and its reaction process was studied. In recent years, NdBaCuO superconductor is being performed. The behavior of $Nd_{4}Ba_{2}Cu_{2}O_{10}$(Nd422 phase) and the solid solubility, x in the superconductor $Nd_{1+x}Ba_{2-x}Cu_{3}O_{y}$ by the heat treatment in the low oxygen partial pressure (1%) or Ar at $950{\circ}C$ were investigated. The zone-melting process was used to make oriented NdBaCuO superconductor in order to increase the critical current density.

In the case of tunneling, the equilibrium state of hydro-geologic environments destroy and change abruptly in some section of whole works. Specially, it's very possible for seawater to intrude toward the site of tunnel if the field is nearly located in a costal region. In this study, we have evaluated the mechanism related between groundwater flow and seawater intrusion that by impacts of tunneling. Various hydro-geological field tests have performed for getting four representative hydrogeologic properties of geologic formations such as transmissivity (T), storativity(S), longitudial dispersity(${\alpha}_L$), and effective porosity($n_e$). For the effect of tunneling, the numerical model was first simulated based on the governing equation of groundwater flow. The results showed that the maximum drawdown was 17.2m and the total inflow into the tunnel had the range from 0.48 to $3.63m^3/day/m$. Secondly, the three dimensional numerical model was analyzed to investigate a characteristic of seawater intrusion based on the previous simulated results of groundwater flow. The results showed the seawater moved as the range of $200{\sim}220m$ from the initial interface between seawater and groundwater toward the tunnel.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify child-rearing practices and parenting efficacy of Marriage-Immigrant Women. Methods: The research design was a descriptive study using self-report questionnaires. Data were collected from May 16 to December 30, 2008. Marriage-immigrant women (n=186) were recruited in G Province, C Province and P city. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and correlation coefficients with SPSS 14.0 were used to analyze the data. Results: The mean score for child-rearing practices was $40.61{\pm}6.67$ and there were significant differences in child-rearing practices by nationality, and Korean language ability. The mean score for parenting efficacy was $67.67{\pm}12.14$ and there were significant differences in parenting efficacy by age, nationality, marital period, age of first child and Korean language ability. There were significant positive correlations between child-rearing practices and parenting efficacy (r=.227, p=.002). Conclusion: In this study, marriage-immigrant women showed a moderate level of child-rearing practices and parenting efficacy. Because child-rearing is mainly the mother's role in the family, knowledge, attitudes to child-rearing and parenting efficacy of mothers influence child-rearing practices and these then, affect children's health. Therefore child-rearing educational programs for marriage-immigrant women should be developed to support the mothers' child-rearing practices and improve parenting efficacy.

A study was carried out to evaluate the incidences and causes of bovine mastitis in Tanzanian shorthorn zebu (Bos indicus) in the traditional sector and crossbred cows (Bos taurus${\times}$Bos indicus) in the dairy ranching sector, both found under the extensive range management system. Management practices were evaluated through a survey study using structured questionnaires. A total of 120 lactating cows (60 cows from each sector) were screened for the disease using the California Mastitis Test (CMT). Confirmatory tests used for infected cows included; the Direct Microscopic Somatic Cell Count (DMSCC), culture, bacteriological and biochemical laboratory assays. Survey results showed that management practices were generally very poor in both sectors with 84% of the surveyed herds being kept and milked under very unhygienic environmental conditions. The level of infection was higher in the crossbred cows (5% clinical and 38.3% sub-clinical mastitis) and lower in the zebu cows with only sub-clinical mastitis (23.3%). Crossbred cows had (p<0.05) higher somatic cell counts than zebu cows. The four highest-ranking bacterial isolates in order of importance were Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus agalactiae and Bacillus spp. It was concluded that bovine mastitis under the extensive management system in Tanzania was a result of poor management practices and that zebu cows were more resistant to the diseases than crossbred cows.
Following the subcutaneous administration of $R(-)N^6-(2-phenylisopropyl)adenosine(600\;nmol/kg/hr)$ to rats for 1 week using t$Alzet^{\circledR}$ mini-osmotic pumps, $A_1$ adenosine receptor functions were determined using $[^3H]DPCPX$ binding, $[^{35}S]GTP_{\gamma}S$ binding, and adenylyl cyclase assays. $A_1$ adenosine receptor binding and the inhibition of adenylyl cyclase activity by PIA was not altered in cerebrocortical membranes prepared from PIA-treated rats. However, there was a significant decrease in the $A_1$ adenosine receptor-mediated stimulation of $[^{35}S]GTP_{\gamma}S$ binding to cerebrocortical membranes prepared from PIA-treated rats(22.0% decrease in basal activity; 19.7% decrease in maximal activity). These results suggest that the desensitization of $A_1$ adenosine receptors following chronic administration involves agonist-induced uncoupling of the receptors from G proteins rather than alteration of $A_1$ adenosine receptor molecules. It is also suggested that the determination of stimulation of $[^{35}S]GTP_{\gamma}S$ binding to G proteins is a suitable tool in studying the receptor regulation including desensitization

Purpose: The awareness of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer (HBOC) and BRCA testing is increasing in Korea. Compared to the sizable research on HBOC knowledge among breast cancer women, studies in the ovarian cancer population are limited. This paper aimed to investigate the level of knowledge of hereditary ovarian cancer and anxiety in women diagnosed with serous ovarian cancer in Korea and determine differences in the knowledge and anxiety according to whether genetic testing was undertaken and whether BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations were present. Methods: Using a descriptive research design, a cross-sectional survey was conducted on 100 women diagnosed with serous ovarian cancer at N hospital in Gyeonggi-do, Korea, from July to November 2018. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson's correlation coefficient using the SPSS 21.0 program. Results: The hereditary ovarian cancer-related knowledge score was mid-level (mean score 8.90±3.29 out of a total of 17), as was the state anxiety level was mid-level (mean score 47.96±3.26 out of possible score range of 20-80). Genetic knowledge of hereditary ovarian cancer was associated with age, education, occupation, genetic counseling, and BRCA mutations. There were no statistically significant factors related to anxiety and there were no statistically significant correlations between knowledge level and anxiety. Conclusion: More comprehensive education on gene-related cancer is needed for ovarian cancer patients, especially for items with low knowledge scores. A genetic counseling protocol should be developed to allow more patients to alleviate their anxiety through genetic counseling.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of health-promoting behaviors (HPB), marital intimacy, and parenting stress on the quality of life (QoL) of low-income women with young children in Korea, an underserved group. Methods: This cross-sectional survey employed a descriptive correlational design. Using convenience sampling, 123 low-income women with children younger than 6 years were recruited from 14 health and community centers in Jeonju, Korea, from June 2020 to May 2021. Participants completed a questionnaire on QoL, HPB, marital intimacy, and parenting stress. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: Participants, who were on average 37.41±3.65 years old and had 1 to 2 children (n=98, 79.7%), reported a mid-level (3.14 out of 1-5) of QoL. Marital intimacy (β=.38, p<.001) was the most influential factor on the QoL of low-income women with young children. In descending order, HPB (β=.35, p<.001) and non- employment status (β=-.21, p=.003) had a significant influence on QoL (F=15.64, p<.001), and the overall explanatory power was 49.0%. Conclusion: Considering the mid-level QoL of low-income women with young children, programs aimed at improving the QoL of low-income women need to promote marital intimacy and maintain HPB, while considering their employment status. Strategies that include couple counseling, health care to encourage healthy lifestyles, and reemployment education are needed.

Objectives: This study evaluated the effects of low and moderate concentrations of triple antibiotic paste (TAP) and double antibiotic paste (DAP) loaded into a hydrogel system on crown discoloration and explored whether application of an adhesive bonding agent prevented crown discoloration. Materials and Methods: Intact human molars (n = 160) were horizontally sectioned 1 mm apical to the cementoenamel junction. The crowns were randomized into 8 experimental groups (calcium hydroxide, Ca[OH]2; 1, 10, and 1,000 mg/mL TAP and DAP; and no medicament. The pulp chambers in half of the samples were coated with an adhesive bonding agent before receiving the intracanal medicament. Color changes (ΔE) were detected by spectrophotometry after 1 day, 1 week, and 4 weeks, and after 5,000 thermal cycles, with ΔE = 3.7 as a perceptible threshold. The 1-sample t-test was used to determine the significance of color changes relative to 3.7. Analysis of variance was used to evaluate the effects of treatment, adhesive, and time on color change, and the level of significance was p < 0.05. Results: Ca(OH)2 and 1 and 10 mg/mL DAP did not cause clinically perceivable tooth discoloration. Adhesive agent use significantly decreased tooth discoloration in the 1,000 mg/mL TAP group up to 4 weeks. However, adhesive use did not significantly improve coronal discoloration after thermocycling when 1,000 mg/mL TAP was used. Conclusions: Ca(OH)2 and 1 and 10 mg/mL DAP showed no clinical discoloration. Using an adhesive significantly improved coronal discoloration up to 4 weeks with 1,000 mg/mL TAP.
