Objectives: The purpose of this study was to contribute to the provision of a safe practice environment and practical sexual harassment prevention education for dental hygiene students who practice clinically. Methods: A total of 260 students with experience in clinical practice at dental hygiene colleges and universities in Gwangju and Jeonnam was included in this study. From May 1, 2018 to June 30, 2018, subjects were surveyed about sexual harassment experience, sexual harassment related information, self-esteem, and self-assertiveness. Statistical analysis was performed by frequency analysis, independent t-test, Mann-Whitney test, one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: In the sexual harassment survey revealed that 64.3% of offenders were patients and 50.0% of the offenders were in their 40s. A total of 78.6% of the offenders reported harassment in hospital type "dental clinics." Most respondents disclosed that "I did not do anything" (60.7%). Psychologically, 75.0% felt "shame and insult." Self-esteem was high in the fourth grade (3.68). Self-esteem and self-assertiveness were higher among those with no sexual harassment experiences (131.77 and 132.81, respectively; p<0.05). Correlation analysis indicated that self-esteem and self-assertiveness were correlated (r=0.509, p<0.01). Factors influencing the perception of sexual harassment include: three to four months of clinical practice (${\beta}=0.361$), experience of sexual harassment (${\beta}=-0.551$), and self-esteem (${\beta}=0.503$). Conclusions: It is necessary to provide systematic and diverse information to address sexual harassment. A proper perception of what constitute sexual harassment in clinical practice is also relevant. Furthermore, practical sexual harassment prevention education program should be developed and implemented.
Background: Although magnetic resonance imaging is accurate, it is expensive to measure the movement of temporomandibular joint. The three-dimensional (3D) motion analysis system is an inexpensive measurement tool. Objects: This study examined the reliability of quantifying the mouth opening and lateral mandibular shift and differences between individuals with and without temporomandibular disorder (TMD) using the hygienic method of surface markers on the skin with 3D ultrasound-based motion analysis. Methods: This study included 24 subjects (12 with and 12 without TMD). Temporomandibular joint motion during mouth opening was recorded using two surface markers with 3D ultrasound-based motion analysis. An intraclass correlation coefficient [ICC (3,k)] was used to confirm the intrarater reliability of quantifying kinematic temporomandibular joint motion, and an independent t-test was used to evaluate differences in maximal mouth opening and lateral mandibular shift between the two groups. Results: Assessment of mouth opening and lateral mandibular shift showed excellent test-retest reliability with low standard error of measurement. The lateral mandibular shift and opening-lateral mandibular shift ratio were significantly increased in the TMD group during maximum mouth opening (p<.05). However, no significant difference in maximal mouth opening was observed between the groups with and without TMD (p>.05). Conclusion: This hygienic and simple surface marker method can be used to quantify the mouth opening and lateral mandibular shift at the end-range of mouth opening. The TMD group showed an increased lateral mandibular shift movement at the end-range of mouth opening. The lateral mandibular shift movement can be regarded as a symptom in the diagnosis and treatment of TMD.

Purpose: (1) To evaluate the trabecular pattern at the femoral attachment of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) in patients with a PCL injury; (2) to analyze bone microarchitecture by applying gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM)-based texture analysis; and (3) to determine if there is a significant relationship between bone microarchitecture and posterior instability. Materials and Methods: The study included 96 patients with PCL tears. Trabecular patterns were evaluated on T2-weighted MRI qualitatively, and were evaluated by GLCM texture analysis quantitatively. The grades of posterior drawer test (PDT) and the degrees of posterior displacement on stress radiographs were recorded. The 96 patients were classified into two groups: acute and chronic injury. And 27 patients with no PCL injury were enrolled for control. Pearson's correlation coefficient and one-way ANOVA with Bonferroni test were conducted for statistical analyses. This protocol was approved by the Institutional Review Board. Results: A thick and anisotropic trabecular bone pattern was apparent in normal or acute injury (n = 57/61;93.4%), but was not prominent in chronic injury and posterior instability (n = 31/35;88.6%). Grades of PDT and degrees of posterior displacement on stress radiograph were not correlated with texture parameters. However, the texture analysis parameters of chronic injury were significantly different from those of acute injury and control groups (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The trabecular pattern and texture analysis parameters are useful in predicting posterior instability in patients with PCL injury. Evaluation of the bone microarchitecture resulting from altered biomechanics could advance the understanding of PCL function and improve the detection of PCL injury.

Purpose : This study aimed to investigate the association between asthma and oral health and factors influencing asthma in adults. We also investigated whether asthma is related to mental health and physiological factors of blood. Methods : Data from 12,639 adults was taken from the 7th period (2016~2018) Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey and analyzed using with SPSS 22.0 statistical program. Statistical analysis of data included frequency analysis, cross-analysis, and logistic regression analysis. For continuous data, an independent sample t-test was performed. The statistical significance level was defined as 0.05. Results : The probability of asthma occurrence was statistically different within general characteristics (gender, age, school grade, income, and drinking). By independent variables in a logistic regression analysis, the asthma diagnosis group had more people with speech discomfort (OR=1.37), chewing discomfort (OR=1.29), and oral pain (OR=.73). We found that people with asthma had a more unfavorable perception of their health (OR=1.73), suffered more depression (OR=.45), stress (OR=.66), and limited activity (OR=2.38). Moreover, the white blood cell count (OR=1.10) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein test (OR=1.06) also showed higher values than the control group. Conclusion : Our study showed that oral health and mental health were associated with the asthma, and influencing factors were oral health and behavior and mental health-related characteristics. Therefore, it is necessary to understand asthma-related risk factors for oral health and recognize the importance of systematic oral care education and regular dental visits for patients receiving asthma treatment. Thus, this study provides valuable insights on appropriate oral health management and prevention of asthma in patients.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the structural relationship between job satisfaction levels felt during ultrasound examination of radiological technologists (RTs) using a structural equation model. The subjects were a total of 203 RTs currently working in medical institutions. The method was conducted as a survey study using a questionnaire consisting of a total of 29 questions consisting of demographic characteristics and job satisfaction levels that were self-efficacy, job competency, extrinsic compensation, and job satisfaction. The reliability was secured with the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.6 or higher. For statistical analysis, a significant difference between the frequency analysis of demographic characteristics and the mean of the job satisfaction levels were performed by independent sample T-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Scheffe's post hoc test. The correlation analysis between variables was tested with Spearman's and Pearson's correlation coefficient. We analyzed the structural relationships between variables by structural equations. As a result, first, job competency and extrinsic compensation had a positive effect on job satisfaction on ultrasound examination of RTs. Second, the self-efficacy of ultrasound examination RTs showed a high correlation with job competency. Third, the job satisfaction levels showed in the order of job competency, job satisfaction, self-efficacy, and extrinsic compensation. In conclusion, this study are expected to be provided as data to identify factors that could improve job satisfaction during ultrasound examination of RTs by empirically analyzing the structural relationship of self-efficacy, job competency, and external compensation.
The use of waste tires and industrial wastes such as fly ash (FA) and ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) in concrete is an important issue in terms of sustainability. In this study, the effect of parameters affecting the physical, mechanical and microstructural properties of FA/GGBS-based geopolymer concretes with waste rubber fiber was investigated. For this purpose, the effects of rubber fiber percentage (0.6%, 0.9%, 1.2%), binder (75FA25GGBS, 50FA50GGBS, 25FA75GGBS) and curing temperature (75 ℃, 90 ℃ and 105 ℃) were investigated. The Taguchi-Grey Relational Analysis (TGRA) method was used to obtain optimum parameter levels of rubber fiber geopolymer concrete (RFGC). The slump, fresh and hardened density, compressive strength, flexural strength, static and dynamic modulus of elasticity, ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) tests and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis were performed on the produced concretes. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) method was used to statistically determine the effects of the parameters on the experimental results. A confirmation test was performed to test the accuracy of the optimum values found by the TGRA method. With the increase of GGBS percentage, the compressive strength of RFGC increased up to 196%. The increase in rubber fiber percentage and curing temperature adversely affected the mechanical properties of RFGC. As a result of TGRA, the optimum value was found to be A1B3C1. ANOVA results showed that the most effective parameter on the experimental results was the binder with 99% contribution percentage. It is understood from the SEM images that the optimum concrete had a denser microstructure and less capillary cracks and voids. For this study, the use of the TGRA method in multiple optimization has proven to provide very useful and reliable results. In cases where many factors are effective on its strength and durability, such as geopolymer concrete, using the TGRA method allows for finding the optimum value of the parameters by saving both time and cost.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the stress and depression levels among adolescents during the COVID-19 period (2020-2022) using the raw data from the 8th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Methods: Utilizing the data from the 8th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 894 adolescents aged 12-18 residing in Korea were selected as participants. The characteristics of the participants were analyzed using complex sample frequency analysis. Differences in stress depending on the characteristics of the participants were analyzed using complex sample t-test and complex sample ANOVA. Differences in depression depending on the characteristics of the participants were analyzed using complex sample cross-tabulation analysis (Rao-Scott test). The effects on stress were analyzed using complex sample general linear model. Results: The study found that over the three years, female students showed higher levels of stress and depression than male students. Analysis of stress differences revealed significant differences depending on health status and survey year. Stress was higher in 2020 compared to 2021. Analysis of depression differences showed significant differences depending on the type of school, smoking status, health status, and survey year. Depression was higher in 2022 compared to 2021. Conclusion: The study confirmed increased stress and depression levels of Korean adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on these findings, it is considered necessary to develop mental health promotion programs that take into account the characteristics and gender differences of adolescents.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 12-week elastic band exercise on body composition, blood lipids and AMPK in 24 elderly female volunteers aged 65-75 years, and they were divided into the combined exercise group(n=12) and the control group(n=12). The elastic band exercise method was to do exercise 3 times a week for 60 minutes per session, 1-4 weeks for low intensity of OMNI-RES 3-4, 5-8 weeks for medium intensity of OMNI-RES 5-6, 9-12 weeks for OMNI-RES 7-8 of high intensity. In order to compare the differences in the groups before and after the elastic band exercise, two-way repeated measures ANOVA was used to verify the interaction between group and time. The difference in the groups of the measured data was paired t-test, the difference between the groups was paired independent t-test, and analysis of covariance ANCOVA was performed to minimize the inter-group error. The statistical significance level of each item was set to .05. As a result, body fat percentage of exercise group significantly decreased (p<.05), and skeletal muscle volume was significantly increased (p<.01). TC, TG and LDL-C were not significantly different between the exercise and control groups, and HDL-C was significantly decreased in the control group (p<.05). AMPK was significantly decreased in the exercise group (p<.001), but there was no significant difference in the control group. According to the covariance analysis to minimize the error of difference between the pre-exercise groups (p<.05), there was significant difference in AMPK of groups after exercise. These results suggest that the 12-week elastic band exercise has a positive effect on the body composition and AMPK of the elderly women.
