  • A survey of the cholesterol content of eggs obtained from commercial sources in Korea was conducted. Eggs from 17 different strain birds were obtained from the Poultry Random Sample Test Station at Ansung, Kyonggi province. Yolk cholesterol contents, determined by the colorimetric procedure, were obtained from three consecutively laid eggs from birds of about 63 weeks of age. The overall mean of cholesterol value was 17.25 mg/g of wet yolk and ranged from 16.40 to 18.18 mg/g yolk. Analysis of t-test between white shell eggs and brown shell eggs showed no difference in cholesterol content: however, the white shell eggs were somewhat high in cholesterol (17.41 vs. 17.08 mg/g yolk). Significant differences (p<0.05) were found in yolk cholesterol contents among strains within the breed.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the importance and satisfaction level with the service of Korean restaurants for Japanese and Chinese students in Korea. Self adminstered guestionnaires were collected from 204 Japanese and Chinese students in Korea. The data was statistically analysed using t-tests, one-way ANOVA, reliability test, factor analysis and regression test. The average values of importance-factor and satisfaction-factor were significantly different. Based on analyses of the 20 service level factors, satisfaction level was significantly lower than importance level. Satisfaction-factors such as quality of food, hygiene of restaurant and employees, service level, and atmospheres, significantly influenced the overall satisfaction level of Korean food and restaurants.

Methods: The study used raw data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey conducted in 2015. Data was analyzed using SPSS 21.0 for descriptive statistics, t-test, $x^2$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. Results: Gender, school performance, economic status, subjective health status, drinking behavior and ego-resilience had significant effects on depression. Moreover, school performance, subjective health status, smoking behavior, duration of exercise during physical education classes, and depression had significant effects on ego-resilience. Conclusion: Based on these findings, we need to develop the interventions for depression and ego-resilience for adolescents, considering the related factors to health status and behaviors.

  • The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the relation between paternal self-esteem, child-rearing behaviors and child's self-esteem. The secondary purpose was to examine whether there were significant relational differences according to child's sex. 272 dyads consisting of fifth and sixth grade children in elementary school and their measured by the Self-Esteem Inventory (for children), the Self-Esteem Scale (for fathers), and the Iowa Parent Behavior Inventory: Father form. Pearson's r., F-test, and Ducan's multiple range test were used for data analysis. Paternal self-esteem was significantly associated with 'parental involvement', 'reasoning guidance', and 'intimacy'. Paternal self-esteem was positively correlated with girl's self-esteem. Child's self-esteem was positively related to 'parental involvement', 'limit setting', 'responsiveness', 'reasoning guidance' and 'intimacy'. In sex differences, only boy's self-esteem wasn't related to paternal 'limit setting'. Boys' self-esteem was strongly related to 'parental involvement', and girls' self-esteem was strongly related to 'reasoning guidance'.

  • This study investigated the relation between oral counting and numerical abilities of young children. The subjects were 33 four-year-old children and 47 five-year-old children from 2 preschools and 2 kindergartens in Kwangju. The test was individually administered in an empty classroom or a hallway by using counting buttons and number cards. The data were analyzed by t-test, Pearsons correlation and multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that (1) older children did better than younger children in oral counting. (2) but the older children did not do better than the younger children in the numerical abilities, (3) the numerical abilities of young children differed according to the degree of oral counting, and (4) the oral counting of young children was one significant predictor of numerical abilities. Findings support the inclusion of activities for oral counting in kindergartens.

  • Until now the test of LIM have been mainly experimented for a small capacity LIM. This paper deals with the static characteristics of a large capacity LIM which is designed for MAGLEV. And we developed the simulation program using electro-magnetic field theory and equivalent circuit method. Hence it is evaluated the performance of a large capacity LIM. Also this paper predicts the dynamic characteristics of LIM with the proposed simulation program.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore relationships among cognition, activities of daily living, and depression in persons with decreased memory. Method: Data were collected from 121 out-patients with decreased memory and analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Bonferroni test, and Pearson's correlation coefficients with the SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. Result: K-MMSE was significantly increased by BADL (r=.40, p<.001), whereas K-MMSE was significantly decreased by K-IADL (r=-.51, p<.001) and K-IADL significantly decreased by BADL (r=-.51, p<.001). Conclusion: The K-MMSE of persons with decreased memory showed association with BADL and K-IADL. Management of patients complaining of decreased memory and development of nursing interventions will slow down the progression of cognitive impairment.
