  • The purpose of this study was to analyze and evaluate the menu served in business & industry contract foodservice by assessing nutritional value and by using menu-engineering technique from managers' view point. CAN-Pro program and Kasavana k Smith's Menu Engineering technique were used to evaluate the nutritional value and menu analysis, respectively. The data were analyzed using the SAS package program for descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson Correlation Analysis. As the result of nutritional value of lunch menu, all nutrient contents per meal were higher than a third of Korean recommended dietary allowances(RDA), But there was no problem when 20∼30% of plate waste was considered. Carbohydrate : Protein fat ratio was 62.7 : 16.4 : 20.8. Because animal : vegetable source ratios of protein, fat, calcium, iron were 44 : 56, 42 : 58, 22 : 78, 24 : 76, respectively, animal sources of calcium and iron needed to be supplemented. Plural set menus of A site were classified as STAR, PUZZLE, PLOWHORSE, DOG by Menu engineering technique. Set menus and soups & pot-stews among cafeteria menus in C site were operated properly without DOG and PUZZLE item. Side dishes of fishes, meats 8t eggs among cafeteria menus in C site were, for the most part, classified as STAR item, and side dishes of vegetables & salads and noodles among cafeteria menus in C site were STAR, PUZZLE, and DOG items. • Thermal analysis, heating test on gram scale and simulation of exothermic behavior based on kinetic analysis has been conducted in order to evaluate thermal hazards of self-polymerization of MDI. The exothermic reactions of MDI are expected to be the polymerization which forms carbodiimide and carbon dioxide, dimerization and trimerization. When MDI is kept in adiabatic condition during 1 week (10080 hours), the simulated result shows runaway reaction can occur in the case that initial temperature was more than $130^{\circ}C$. The relationship between the initial temperature (T, $^{\circ}C$) and TMR is given in a following equation. TMR=$4.493{\times}10^{-7}$ exp ($9.532{\times}10^3$/(T+273.15)) We propose that the relationship gives important criteria of handling temperature of MDl to prevent a runaway reaction.

  • For the life evaluating of notched members, it is the best way that performing the real fatigue test of structure containing notch. But this method required generally much times and costs to evaluate fatigue life. So, generally we use the modified S-N curve or several methods to predict fatigue life. In this study, crack initiation life was evaluated by fatigue testing the SAE keyhole specimen and smooth specimen made of Al 7075-T6 alloys using the constant load then obtained S-N curve of smooth specimen and P-N curve of SAE keyhole specimen. And, fatigue lives of keyhole specimen are predicted using some life prediction methods (Nominal range I method, Nominal range II method, FEM analysis) for investigating experimented results, and that were compared with experimental data. Predicted fatigue lives by FEM analysis were corresponded with experimental data between 1/3times and 3times on the whole, and predicted fatigue lives using modified S-N curve (Nominal range I method, Nominal range II method) were nonconservative compared with that of FEM analysis.

  • An oil stain on the steel induced by metal working oil was studied on the six kinds of fat and oil compounds(rapeseed oil, oleic acid, methyl oleate, oleyl alcohol, lauryl amino, and lanolin) by MIL-C-22235A test. The samples used for the printing on the oil stain plates were prepared by the addition of fat and oil compounds(10wt% ) and antioxidants(B. H. T, B. T, T. C. P; 0.5wt%) to base oil(spindle oil; 1.5wt% of sulfur). An analysis based on the experimental data indicated that B.T was more effective than B. H. T and T. C. P as antioxidant for inhibiting oil stains. And acid values exerted a bad influence upon the preventation of oil stains. As expected by the chemical structure of fat and oil compound, oleic acid that could react with iron ions produced more stains on the steel pannel.

  • This study examined how walking moderates the influence of depression on quality of life in elderly. Data of the study were analysed using the sixth Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES V-2, 2014). The subjects were elderly aged 65 years or more and the number of the sample was 1,263. Using hierarchial regression analysis, walking as a moderator of the depression and quality of life relationship was examined. Quality of life for elderly showed significant differences according to sex(t=8.26, p<.001), age(t=5.19, p<.001), number of chronic disease(F=37.88, p<.001), depression(t=9.62, p<.001) and walking per week (t=47.36, p<.001). Walking moderated the relationship between depression and quality of life in elderly. Based on these findings, the enhancement of walking in depressed elderly is recommended to promote the quality of life.
