  • The main purpose of this study is to improve the understanding of the failures of venture companies. The study attempts to analyze the causes and the processes of venture failures and the different paths that led to such failures. For the research, 116 firms registered with the Korea Venture Business Association in 1997 were surveyed and traced in 2000. A questionnaire was sent to 105 companies that were operating at the time and 76 of them returned responses. In 2008, the 76 companies were re-traced, and it was found that 41 of them had failed while 35 survived. Through this process, a set of longitudinal data was gathered about the changes in strategies, environments, and organizational structures. Accordingly, t-test and ANOVA analysis were performed on the different causes and processes of venture failures, as well as the taxonomy according to the changes in circumstances. Empirical findings can be summarized as follows. Venture companies failed due to various reasons and there were very different failing processes. In addition, this study found that various failing paths existed among failed venture companies and different factors affected company failures. Considering these findings, this research is clearly advanced and can be distinguished from other existing researches in terms of the dynamic understanding of the failures of venture companies.

  • The purpose of this study is to afford basic data for planning a program to strategically prevent adolescent sexual violence by clarifying the concept of sexual violence in adolescence and investigating factors influencing the adolescent attitudes towards sexual violence. Subjects of the study were 288 adolescents between the ages of 14 to 21, living in K city in Chungnam Province. The data was collected for this study between May 30 and June 13, 2001. For this study, the following materials were used as instruments: the types of attitudes toward sexual violence developed by Nam, S. Y.(2000), the antisocial personality by Min, B. K., Choi, S. J., & Lee, G. H.(1978), the self-esteem developed by Rosenberg(1965) and interpreted by Jeon, B. J.(1974), the family support developed by Cobb(1976), the stereotyped sex role and the attitude on sexuality by Kim, E. J.(1997). The data was analyzed, using SPSS 7.5 for Windows Program, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and discriminant analysis. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Adolescents of the first type, ones blaming social morals, amounted to 34.7%(100 subjects), the second type, ones blaming the victims, amounted to 22.3%(64 subjects), the third type, ones claiming reform of consciousness, amounted to 25.3%(73 subjects), and the fourth type, ones coping actively, amounted to 17.7%(51 subjects). 2. Attitudes toward sexual violence were influenced a great deal by the sex of the subject. 3. The study revealed that various types of the attitudes toward sexual violence was significantly different from one another, related to antisocial personality(F=2.80, P=.04). Especially the first type and the third type were most different from each other. The latter showed the antisocial personality strongly, compared with the former. 4. Discriminant analysis revealed that the most powerful predictors of attitudes toward sexual violence were the sex of the subject and whether or not they had an antisocial personality. 5. The degree of possibility of identifying a risk group of adolescents was 45.9% and the possibility of identifying a non-risk group was 73.3%. The hit ratio was 67.8%. In conclusion, the results of the study lead us to understand the type of adolescent attitudes toward sexual violence. The results will be useful to furnish a guideline for nursing intervention and education programs to prevent sexual violence in adolescence.

  • This study was proposed in obtaining basic data for an intervention programs of the stable child care by identifying the effects of support from the spouse and family on the child rearing among marriage immigrant women. Subjects consisted of 110 marriage immigrant women in Gyeonggi-do in December, 2014. SPSS/WIN 22.0 program was used for ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis to figure out burden and efficacy of child rearing through the general characteristics. The increased burden of child rearing was statistically significant with young age, lower level of education, low income and less spending time to raise their children by husband. Additionally, the increased efficacy of child rearing was statistically significant with young age and using two languages. The pressure of the child rearing showed a negative correlation with spouse support, income, and old age. The efficacy of child rearing had a positive correlation with spouse support, spending time to take care of their children by family, and ages. In the regression analysis, the burden of child rearing among immigrant women increased by old age (${\beta}=-2.097$, p<.05) and less time to raise their children by husband (${\beta}=-2.165$, p<.05). It is important to provide spouse and family support to encourage desirable child rearing behavior. These results may provide to improve intervention programs for child rearing among marriage immigrant women.

  • Purpose : To shorten processing time for variety of medical affairs of the patient at the outpatient clinic of a big hospital is very important to qualify medical care of the patient. Therefore, patient's waiting time for drug delivery after doctor's prescription is often utilized as a strong tool to evaluate patient satisfaction with a medical care provided. We performed this study to investigate factors influencing patient satisfaction related with waiting time for drug delivery. Methods : The data were collected from July 21 to August 12, 1998. A total 535 patients or their families who visited outpatient clinics of Inha University Hospital were subjected to evaluate the drug delivery time and the level of their satisfaction related, which were compared with those objectively evaluated by Quality Improvement Team. The reliability of the scale was tested with Cronbach's alpha, and the data were analyzed using frequency, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple regression. Results : The mean drug delivery time subjectively evaluated by the patient (16.1 13.0 min) was longer than that objectively evaluated (10.9 7.6 min) by 5.2 min. Drug delivery time objectively evaluated was influenced by the prescription contents, total amount or type of drug dispensed, etc, as expected. The time discrepancy between two evaluations was influenced by several causative factors. One of those proved to be a patient's late response to the information from the pharmacy which the drug is ready to deliver. Interestingly, this discrepancy was found to be more prominent especially when waiting place for drug delivery was not less crowded. Other factors, pharmaceutical counseling at the pharmacy, emotional status or behavior of a patient while he waits for the medicine, were also found to influence the time subjectively evaluated. Regarding the degree of patient satisfaction with the drug delivery, majority of patients accepted drug delivery time with less than 10 min. It was also found to be influenced by emotional status of the patient as well as kindness or activity of pharmaceutical counselor. Conclusion : The results show that, besides prescription contents, behavior pattern or emotional status of a patient, environment of the waiting place, and quality of pharmaceutical counseling at the pharmacy, may influence the patient's subjective evaluation of waiting time for drug delivery and his satisfaction related with the service in the big hospital. In order to improve patient satisfaction related with waiting time for drug delivery, it will be cost effective to qualify pharmaceutical counseling and information system at the drug delivery site or waiting place rather than to shorten the real processing time within the pharmacy.

  • This study examined the effects of the demographic and health characteristics and chronic diseases on the health-related quality of life in service employees. From January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2014, this study analyzed the data on 607 service employees based on the 2nd data of the 6th National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey with at-test, ANOVA, and hierarchical regression analysis use of SPSS. The results of the analysis showed that the quality of Life in women was lower (${\beta}=-.074$, p=.050) than that of men, and the older the subjects were, the lower their quality of life(${\beta}=307$, p=.000). Regarding the subjective health status, there was a significant increase in the "very Poor"(${\beta}=186$, p=0.027) and "good"(${\beta}=196$, p=.001) status. The quality of life improved with increasing activity (${\beta}=-0.222$, p=0.000)). Some of the subjects perceived "high stress" (${\beta}=-0.123$, p=0.003) and the others perceived "low stress"(${\beta}=-0.176$, p=0.000). The less they perceived stress, the higher their quality of life. The factors explained 24.6% of the health-related quality of life of the subjects. Therefore, to improve health-related quality of life of service employees, more activity opportunities should be given, the subjective health status should be positively perceived and psychological measures to decrease the level of stress should be developed.

  • This study was designed to examine the influence of academic stress, anxiety, interpersonal dependency, and hopelessness on female high school students and their level of depression. The study subjects were 684 students attending an all-female high school in C city. Data were collected by self-administered questionnaires between November 1st, 2016 and December 31st, 2016. The data were analyzed using the SPSSWIN(ver. 21.0) program. The mean values of the level of depression were analyzed by the t-test and ANOVA. The correlation coefficientswereobtained by Pearson correlation analysis and acovariance structure analysis was performed on the factors affecting the level of depression. It was found that the level of depression among all of the subjects was significantly higher within the group with a higher level of academic stress, anxiety, interpersonal dependency, and hopelessness. Thus, the level of depression was positively correlated with the levels of academic stress, anxiety, interpersonal dependency, and hopelessness. The factor that had the most influence on depression was the anxiety factor, followed by interpersonal dependency and academic stress. This result suggests that the level of depression in female high school students has a causal relationship with academic stress, anxiety, interpersonal behavioral characteristics, and hopelessness. Therefore, the most effective strategy to reduce the level of depression among female high school students would appear to be efforts to decrease their academic stress, anxiety, and interpersonal dependency.

  • In anatomical education, cyber class has been studied as a strong strategy coincided with academic characterestics. In the present study, we investigated the correlation between self-evaluation factors, use of cyber classroom and academic achievement of health allied undergraduate students according to application of cyber class in the anatomical education. The subjects of study were totally 231 students who were majored in nursing science (n=143) and sports science (n=88) in last 3 years (2007-2009). Based on frequency of log-in, survey and grade of score, we analyzed correlation of their factors and their scores using frequency analysis, T-test and analysis of variance. Regardless of their major, most of students gave high scores in all of self-evaluation factors, convinience of cyber classroom, suitability of assignment. The frequency of log-in correlated highly with academic achievement(r=0.246, p<0.01, nursing science; r=0.234, p<0.05 sports medicine). The academic achievement also had a high correlation of 0.218(p<0.01) with the level of difficulty in nursing science students, 0.499(p<0.05) with the levels of satisfaction difficulty and interest. in sports science students. This study suggested that cyber class was very useful and would be a promising strategy in anatomical education.
