Outage restoration in electric distribution system using Dijkstra algorithm (Dijkstra 알고리즘을 이용한 배전계통에서의 사고복구)

  • This paper presents a restoration method by using Dijkstra algorithm for outage restoration problems in distribution system that considering load capacity constraints and operation constraints. Restoration problem in distribution system is difficult to solve problem in a short times, because of a distribution system that supplies power for customers combined with many tie-line switches and sectionalizing switches and have to satisfy plenty of operation conditions. Therefore, this paper applied Dijkstra algorithm which is satisfy radial operation conditions in distribution system. This proposed method used Kruskal algorithm include to Dijkstra algorithm Therefore, proposed method is restored to a outage sections in a short times and just then to satisfied with a operation conditions in distribution system. A 26-bus, 31-branch model system is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Real-time reservoir operation models during flood period require optimization of hourly releases from the input data through on-line system. And predicted values. An algorithm of the simulation model to resolve the problem has already been reported with formulation of objectives to minimize the flood damage in downstream reaches and to conserve water at the end of operation for the later use. This paper presents an application of the model to a single reservoir system at the Daecheong Dam during flood and the results are reviewed. This paper also reviews measured inflows and releases in the past. The model is applied to the flood hydrographs of several return periods assuming different reservoir levels at the beginning of the operation. Also it demonstrates the simulation of test run with inflow forecasts obtained by rainfall-runoff model and compares the results. As a result, the model can use efficiently the flood control capacity with consideration of risk factor for the uncertainties associated with inflow forecasts.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to develop the modified LTC code for accurate analysis of the boron concentration behavior of all components in the Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS). This is achieved by adapting a multi-cell mad to the existing Long Term Cooling (LTC) code. To verify the modified LTC, the simulated results were compared with the actual test results measured during YGN 4 initial criticality test. It was shown that the simulated results of this modified LTC were in good agreement with the actual test results. Also, the boron concentration behavior analysis were performed using the modified LTC code for both direct and indirect dilution/boration nude using YGN 3,4 design data. This modified LTC code can provide a valuable information in predicting boron concentration behavior during power maneuvering such as startup operation, shutdown operation and load follow operation. It is expected that the modified LTC can be applied to both on-line and off-line mode using Plant Computer System(PCS).

  • This paper presents a new method for choosing the best line for transmission system expansion planning considering the highest reliability level of the transmission system. Conventional methodologies for transmission system expansion planning have been mainly focused on economics, which is the minimization of construction costs. However, quantitative evaluation of transmission system reliability is important because successful operation and planning of an electric power system under the deregulated electricity market depends on transmission system reliability management. Therefore, it is expected that the development of methodology for choosing the best lines considering the highest transmission system reliability level while taking into account uncertainties of transmission system equipment is useful for the future. The characteristics and effectiveness of the proposed methodology are illustrated by the case study using a MRBTS.

  • This paper deals with the development of an interface program for automatic plate forming, which can exchange information between the heating line information generation program and the automatic heating apparatus. In this paper, the performance of the developed interface program has been verified from the view point of numerical position control. By applying the interface program to the operation of the automatic heating apparatus, an experiment of line heating has been conducted for several steel plate models. Based on the experimental results, a simplified relation to estimate angular distortion has keen derived as a natural characteristic of the present automatic heating apparatus. As a result of the present study, the prototype of the automatic plate forming system has been constructed, and its application to the real surface models found in the ship will be presented in the near future.

  • Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) is in charge of the operation and the maintenance for transmission lines and substations in Korean power system which is under the deregulation power market. KEPCO has a main constrain of transmission line toward SEOUL area which is a capital of KOREA because SEOIJL is a huge load of Korean power system. The Korea Electric Power Research Institute (KEPRI)), a division of KEPCO was tasked to study the ATC enhancement of transmission line toward SEOUL using a new line or/and FACTS. This paper summarizes the results of those studies, enhancing the ATC and evaluating the economics.

  • In the systems with largely pipe head loss, variable speed pumps are generally used because substantial energy saving can be expected from such systems by controlling pump speed and also they offer simpler maintenance and operational ease even in conditions where abrupt changes In flow rate and head can occur. The invertor or the fluid coupling system are mainly adopted to control the rotating speed. In this paper, operating conditions at Migum pressing pump station(5 stage), where the fluid coupling system was the first installed for KOWACO, are investigated and analysed so that information thus gained can be usefully employed in the efficient operation of variable speed pump in new installations of in-line booster pumping station.

  • This paper examines the insulation coordination scheme of line and equipment in distribution system when the direct lightning surge strikes. The BIL that is applied in distribution system is not properly considered the performance and operation of arresters. Because of that, the high BIL is being used at partial system. This paper variously analyse the lightning overvoltage of line and equipment with earth of overhead grounding wire and installation types of arrester. Form these result, authors examine the rationality of BIL.

  • In these days abnormal climate occurs frequently because of global warming and earthshock. So it is necessary to prepare for the abnormal conditions like gale, rainfall, heavy snow and high temperature. Fortunately, Korea high speed rail(KTX) have a safety climate detection system for the abnormal weather by using CTC. So the safety is guaranteed in most aspect. But in convention line there isn't any alarm system for the abnormal condition and the train runs until the railroad loss occurred. So convention line need additional regulation same as KTX for the abnormal climate and in the near future passenger safety must be protected by new alarm system.

  • This paper describes the development of a three-phase line-interactive dynamic voltage restorer with hybrid detection method, which is composed of three H-bridge inverter modules and super-capacitors. The operational feasibility was verified through computer simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software, and experimental works with a 3kVA prototype. The developed system can compensate the input voltage sag and interruption within 2ms. The maximum allowable duration of voltage interruption is about 4 seconds. The developed system can be effectively used to compensate the voltage interruption in the sensitive load, such as computer, communication devices, and automation devices, and medical equipment. The developed system has a simple structure to be easily implemented with commercially available components, and to be highly reliable in operation.
