In this paper. we have simulated the transient stability of power system with motor loads. In study of power system stability, modelling of motors is required for the system with large concentrations of motors. Therefore the dynamics attributable to motors are usually the most significant aspects of dynamics characteristics of system loads. A synchronous motor is modelled as a dynamic load. We investigate the effect of synchronous motors of Kwang Yang network with three phase fault.
This paper is to study dynamics of populations of religions. As human population is a crucial source of social dynamics, the religious population is a driving force that changes political and cultural landscape of society. Although many christian scholars have reported important causal factors in changing population of christian world, there are few studies on the dynamics of religious population in system dynamics. This paper interprets these dynamic mechanisms in terms of feedback loops and constructs a basic system dynamic model to forecast future trend of religious population in Korean society.

This study addresses space simulation test results and thermal modelling verification of HAUSAT-2 nanosatellite STM (Structural-Thermal Model). The thermal modelling of the HAUSAT-2 has been modified in accordance with test results. Thermal analysis results were repeatedly compared with test results for modified thermal modelling. It is verified that the analysis results for modified thermal modelling agree well with test results. Some surface heaters were implemented to simulate solar illumination for HAUSAT-2 Thermal Vacuum/Balance Test. A low-cost and effective thermal test methodology, which is applicable to ultra-small satellite system, was proposed and verified by test results in this study.
For 3D modelling artificial objects with computers, we have to draw frames and paint the facet images on each side. In this paper, a geographic modelling system building automatically 3D geographic spaces using GIS data and real images of buildings is proposed. First, the 3D model of terrain is constructed by using TIN and DEM algorithms. The images of buildings are acquired with a camera and its position is estimated using vertical lines of the image and the GIS data. The height of the building is computed with the image and the position of the camera, which used for making up the frames of buildings. The 3D model of the building is obtained by detecting the facet iamges of the building and texture mapping them on the 3D frame. The proposed geographical modeling system is applied to real area and shows its effectiveness.

Predicting and evaluating ship manoeuvring characteristics are very important not only for the design stage, but also for the existing vessels. There are several ways to predict ship's manoeuvrability and most of them are highly connected with the estimation of hydrodynamic coefficients. This paper presents a new estimation method using the system identification with mathematical algorithms for estimating hydrodynamic coefficient in the ship's mathematical model. Specifically a double ended ferry which equips four azimuth propulsion systems were chosen as benchmark ship and a set of benchmark data which is generated in the fast time simulation software was provided to conduct mathematical optimization process. Also the initial values for the optimization were borrowed from the empirical regression formulas of the simulation software of Rheinmetall Defence ship simulator. Therefore the newly suggested mathematical optimization algorithm gave a successful result for estimation hydrodynamic coefficients. Proper optimization conditions of the objective function and constraints were also verified during the study.

This papers describes a nonlinear transfer function modelling of designed GaAs FET power amplifier by measured and simulated values of designed PA amplifier for multicarrier transmission system, With the results of PA nonlinearity characteristic, we can estimates AMAM and AMPM of designed PA. According to the estimated nonlinear characteristics, we can analysis the ACPR of PA for spectral regrowth, the error vector measurement(EVM) of constallation signals and bit error rate of QPSK and 64QAM. The suggested nonlinear modelling results are used to get an accurate estimate of digital characteristics between PA amplifier and wireless multicarrier transmission system using OFDM.

Recently wind turbines become large, constructed as farms and going out to offshore. Different design approach from onshore is needed for offshore wind turbine. At this paper concept and preliminary design of an offshore wind turbine of 3MW rated power are performed. The concept design started from modelling of the generator and gearbox. With these modelling the optimum specifications was acquired. Integrated type of drive train is designed with all parts are mounted on the tower top as the offshore maintenance strategy. At the preliminary stage control system, power production algorithm and safety system are designed. Load calculation is also performed. The 3MW offshore wind turbine concept/preliminary design and the process of design are obtained as results.
A frequency domain response analysis is presented for building frames passively controlled by viscoelastic dampers, under harmonic ground excitation. Three different models are used to represent the linear dynamic force-deformation characteristics of viscoelastic dampers namely, Kelvin model, Linear hysteretic model and Maxwell model. The frequency domain solution is obtained by (i) an iterative pseudo-force method, which uses undamped mode shapes and frequencies of the system, (ii) an approximate modal strain energy method, which uses an equivalent modal damping of the system in each mode of vibration, and (iii) an exact method which uses complex frequency response function of the system. The responses obtained by three different methods are compared for different combinations of viscoelastic dampers giving rise to both classically and non-classically damped cases. In addition, the effect of the modelling of viscoelastic dampers on the response is investigated for a certain frequency range of interest. The results of the study are useful in appropriate modelling of viscoelastic dampers and in understanding the implication of using modal analysis procedure for building frames which are passively controlled by viscoelastic dampers against base excitation.

Vacuum simulation is associated with the prediction and calculation of how materials, pumps and systems will perform using mathematical equations. In this investigation, three different high vacuum systems were simulated and estimated with each vacuum characteristics by VacTran simulator. In each of modelled vacuum systems, selection of gas loads into vessel, combination of rough and high vacuum pumps and dimension of conductance elements were proposed as system variables. In pump station model, the pumping speed to pressures by the combination of root pump was analyzed under the variations of vessel volume. In this study, the effects of outgassing dependent on vessel materials was also simulated and aluminum vessel was estimated to optimum materials. It was obtained from the modelling with diffusion pump that the diameter, length of 50×250[mm]roughing line was characterized as optimum variables to reach the ultimate pressure of 10E-7[torr]. Optimum design factors for vacuum characteristics of modelled vacuum system were achieved by VacTran simulator. Feasibility of VacTran as vacuum simulator was verified and applications of VacTran in high tech process expected to be increased.
This study was conducted to develop a reservoir modelling workflow to reproduce the heterogeneous distribution of effective permeability that impacts on the performance of SAGD (Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage), the in-situ bitumen recovery technique in the Athabasca Oil Sands. Lithologic facies distribution is the main cause of the heterogeneity in bitumen reservoirs in the study area. The target formation consists of sand with mudstone facies in a fluvial-to-estuary channel system, where the mudstone interrupts fluid flow and reduces effective permeability. In this study, the lithologic facies is classified into three classes having different characteristics of effective permeability, depending on the shapes of mudstones. The reservoir modelling workflow of this study consists of two main modules; facies modelling and permeability modelling. The facies modelling provides an identification of the three lithologic facies, using a stochastic approach, which mainly control the effective permeability. The permeability modelling populates mudstone volume fraction first, then transforms it into effective permeability. A series of flow simulations applied to mini-models of the lithologic facies obtains the transformation functions of the mudstone volume fraction into the effective permeability. Seismic data contribute to the facies modelling via providing prior probability of facies, which is incorporated in the facies models by geostatistical techniques. In particular, this study employs a probabilistic neural network utilising multiple seismic attributes in facies prediction that improves the prior probability of facies. The result of using the improved prior probability in facies modelling is compared to the conventional method using a single seismic attribute to demonstrate the improvement in the facies discrimination. Using P-wave velocity in combination with density in the multiple seismic attributes is the essence of the improved facies discrimination. This paper also discusses sand matrix porosity that makes P-wave velocity differ between the different facies in the study area, where the sand matrix porosity is uniquely evaluated using log-derived porosity, P-wave velocity and photographically-predicted mudstone volume.
