This paper describes the development of the sensor interface and driver program for a point of care (POC) device. The proposed pac device comprises an ARM9 embedded processor and eight-channel sensor input to measure various bio-signals. It features a user-friendly interface using a full-color TFT-LCD and touch-screen, and a bluetooth wireless communication module. The proposed device is based on the system on a programmable chip (SOPC). We use Altera's Excalibur device, which has an ARM9 and FPGA area on a chip, as a test bed for the development of interface hardware and driver software.

In this paper is studied a method of interfacing microcomputer system with an ordinary cassette tape recorder The use of a parallel interface adapter has made it possible not only to construct a byte in software method but also to control noter operation of the recorder. Considerable improvement of the data handling speed is accomplished in spite of a relatively simplified network configurations.

An alternative human interface enabling people with severe motor disabilities to control an assistive system is presented. Since this interface relies on the biosignals originating from the contraction of muscles on the face during particular movements, even individuals with a paralyzed limb can use it with ease. For real-world application, a dedicated hardware module employing a general-purpose digital signal processor was implemented and its validity tested on an electrically powered wheelchair. Furthermore, an additional attempt to reduce error rates to a minimum for stable operation was also made based on the entropy information inherent in the signals during the classification phase. In the experiments, most of the five participating subjects could control the target system at their own will, and thus it is found that the proposed interface can be considered a potential alternative for the interaction of the severely disabled with electronic systems.

In order to collect the engine performance data and determine optimum engine conditions, engine performance test based on interface unit were tested This paper was carried out that engine' performance was developed using interface unit between personal computer and diesel engine. The results of the study are summarized as follows: Interface unit was developed. By using PAL, simulation was carried in order to logic's inspection. From this tea NO$_{x}$ were decreased, otherwise PM were increased. By using EGR system PM were increased by twice in the high load ranges, it was not seen to come into effect in the low load ranges. This system was tested D-l3 mode, the results were decreased more than 50% in the NO$_{x}$ emission.

In this paper, we propose robot control interface using gaze recognition which is not limited by head motion. Most of the existing gaze recognition methods are working well only if the head is fixed. Furthermore the methods require a correction process per each person. The interface in this paper uses a camera with built-in infrared filter and 2 LED light sources to see what direction the pupils turn to and can send command codes to control the system, thus it doesn't need any correction process per each person. The experimental results showed that the proposed interface can control the system exactly by recognizing user's gaze direction.
Interlaminar stresses near the free edges of composite laminates have been analyzed considering wall effects. Interface modeling of bonding layer was introduced to explain the wall effect. Using Lekhnitskii stress functions and the principle of complementary virtual work, the interlaminar stresses were obtained, which satisfied the traction free boundary conditions not only at the free edges, but also at the top and bottom surfaces of laminates. The interface modeling provides not singular stresses but concentrated finite interlaminar stresses. The significant amount of reductions of stresses at the free edge are observed compared to the results without interface modeling. The real stress state can be predicted accurately and the results demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed interface modeling for the strength design of composite laminates.

In general, FORTRAN is used for numerical analysis and OPS5 or LISP is used for expert systems, This causes problems at the interface because the various applications require different computing languages or environments. This paper describes the approach used to take AutoCAD as a user-interface for an existing finite element structural analysis package. Some principles concerning database management related to data-exchange interface of pre- and post-processing system for FORTRAN structural analysis program are discussed, and numerical examples demonstrate the power of the combination of these programs.

Ensuring the designed prestress force is very important for the safety of prestressed concrete bridge. The loss of prestress force in tendon could significantly reduce load carrying capacity of the structure. In this study, an automated prestress-loss monitoring system for prestressed concrete girder using PZT-interface and wireless impedance sensor node is presented. The following approaches are carried out to achieve the objective. Firstly, wireless impedance sensor nodes are designed for automated impedance-based monitoring technique. The sensor node is mounted on the high-performance Imote2 sensor platform to fulfill high operating speed, low power requirement and large storage memory. Secondly, a smart PZT-interface designed for monitoring prestress force is described. A linear regression model is established to predict prestress-loss. Finally, a system of the PZT-interface interacted with the wireless sensor node is evaluated from a lab-scale tendon-anchorage connection of a prestressed concrete girder.

This paper introduces a power flow model of SSSC for voltage stability analysis of power system installed with Static Synchronous Compensators. The SSSC model is obtained from the injection model of voltage source inverter by adding the condition that SSSC injection voltage is in quadrature with current of SSSC-installed branch. This model is incorporated into modified CPF algorithm to study effects of SSSC on the security-constrained interface flow limit. Determination of interface flow limit is simply briefed. In case study a 771-bus real system is used to show that interface flow limit can be improved by appropriate control of SSSC in terms of voltage stability.

System analysis programs have been developed by several different research groups. Especially, the programming languages and the developing environments of algorithm modules and user interface modules are different. And therefore, the differences have degraded interoperability and reusability of the system analysis modules. in order to solve this problems, a general binary interface has designed and the component based on the interface has developed as well. However, sometimes each interface is uncompatible because those are designed on the particular vendor. In this paper, we deals with XML web service, Sort of distributed processing architecture, which is not restricted by not only the existing internet standard but also any Programming language or any vendor. Because of its platform independent, each module can be updated and extended independently.
