Biosorption Characteristics of Organic Matter in a Sequencing Batch Reactor : Effect of Sludge Retention Time (연속 회분식 반응기내 유기물 생물흡착특성: SRT 영향)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate biosorption of organic matter on EPS(Extracellular Polymeric Substances) at different SRT(Sludge Retention Time) in a SBR(Sequencing Batch Reactor) process, which was operated with the following operation steps : Fill-React-Settle-Decant-Idle. The hydraulic retention time was set to be 24 hours. The results obtained from this study showed that the organic removal efficiency per unit microbial biomass decreased with increasing SRT, and the corresponding EPS amount also did. The percent removal of organic by biosorption increased with SRT, and it reached to 53.2% at SRT of 30 days. However, the highest biosorption per microbial biomass(48.6 mgCOD/gVSS) was found at SRT of 2 days. The EPS analysis was performed by measuring TSS, TCOD$_{Cr}$, and TKN. The EPS production per unit microbial biomass was observed to be high at a low SRT. Due to the above result, the floc formation was hindered and therefore poor settlement of sludge resulted in decreasing the COD removal efficiency. It was therefore concluded that the consideration of the system design should include the characteristic of EPS as well as other factors such as SRT, MLSS, and organic loading.

분포형모델을 이용한 지형특성변화에 따른 유출해석

  • 분석에 이용된 격자망은 동곡, 고로, 미성, 병천, 효령 및 무성지점에 각각 12개, 30개, 45개, 76개, 46개 및 1265개의 조격자를 구성하였으며 하천의 수로방향 및 경사형태를 세분화하기 위하여 각 지점에 대하여 8개, 24개, 24개, 44개, 12개 및 64개의 세격자로 분할하였다. AGNPS를 이용한 첨두유량의 모의발생 결과치가 동곡, 고로, 미성, 병천, 효령 및 무성지점에서 측정값과 비교하여 각 호우사상별로 상대오차가 1.0~25.0%, 4.0~27.0%, 7.0~29.2%, 2.0~23.9%, 3.0~25.0% 및 3.6~21.0%의 차이를 나타내었다. 분석결과에서 AMCII조건에서는 관측치와 분석결과치가 유사하게 나타났으나 AMCI조건에 대해서는 상대적으로 작은 값을 보였으며 AMCIII조건에서는 다소 큰 값으로 분석되었다. SCS방법에서 제안하는 AMC조건별 CN값을 우리 실정에 적합하도록 수정 보완하기 위한 수정 유출곡선지수 $CN_{m}$ /I과 $CN_{m}$/III을 재구성하였으며, 여기에 적용되는 수정 유출 곡선지수식의 계수 a를 추정한 결과, 기왕에 발표된 연구결과와 거의 일치된 경향을 나타내었다. 제안된 수정 CN식을 이용하여 산정한 결과치와 관측치는 거의 유사하게 나타났다. AGNPS모델에 의한 유출량 산정에 있어 수문학적 토양피복형수(CN)의 결정을 위하여 선행강우량과 토양의 공극율 및 지형인자인 각 셀마다의 유역경사를 이용하여 관계식(CN =f($X_1$, $X_2$, $X_3$))을 유도하였으며, 분석 결과에서 CN이 선행강우량과 가장 밀접한 관계가 있음을 알 수 있었으며 유역경사, 토양의 공극율 순으로 나타났다..88mg/$\ell$~의 범위로 나타났다. 무태교 지점에서의 총인의 농도는 0.52mg/$\ell$~0.99mg/$\ell$~의 범위이었다. 신천에 금호강물을 혼합한 이후에도 부유물질, 생화학적산소요구량, 암모니아태 질소, 총인 등의 농도가 개선되지 않았다. 즉 금호강물의 혼합은 신천수질환경사업소에서 배출되는 방류수에 함유되어 있을 2차 오염물질의 희석이라는 이점외의 수질개선효과는 확인되지 않았다.l years and a new type of transfer crane has been developed. 키토산 분자량 변화에 따른 수중의 여러 중금속들의 제거에 관한 연구

  • Autoclaving처리를 하지 않은 키토산과 autoclaving처리한 키토산과의 중금속 흡착실험을 해 본 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 도출 할 수 있었다. 1) 먼저 중금속간의 흡착능을 고찰하기 위하여 Langmuir와 Freundlich 흉착등온식에 적용시켜 본 결과 Freundlich 흡착등온식 보다는 Langmuir 흡착등온식이 보다 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 2) 시간에 따라서 autoclaving 처리한 키토산의 중금속 제거 가능성과 그 효율을 검토하기 위하여 각 중금속간의 Langmuir 흡착등온식을 이용하여 $q_{max}$를 나타냈다. 15 min > 60 min > 0 min 순으로 모든 중금속 제거 실험에서 15 min 동안 autoclaving 처리한 키토산의 중금속 흡착량이 가장 높은 것으로 나왔다. 그러므로 기존의 키토산 보다는 15 min동안 autoclaving 처리한 키토산이 중금속 제거에 더 좋은 흡착제로써 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 3) 키토산을 이용한 중금속 제거에서는 $Pb^{2+}$ > $Cd^{2+}$ > $Cu^{2+}$ > $Cr^{3+}$순서로 제거가 되었다. 여러 연구자들의 실험 결과를 종합해 볼 때 Pb$^{2+}$가 중금속 중에 제거가 잘 된다는 연구 결과가 많이 발표 되었으며, $Cd^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, $Cr^{3+}$의 경우에는 흡착제의 종류에 따라서 제거되는 순서가 다르다는 연구 결과들이 보고 되고 있다. 그러나 어떠한 이유로 중금속의 제거에 차이가 있는지에 대해서는 명확한 결론이 내려져 있지 않는 실정이다. 이러한 중금속간의 경쟁적인 관계에 대해 더 많은 세밀한 연구가 이루어져야 할 것 같다.는 0.52mg/$\ell$~0.99mg/$\ell$~의 범위이었다. 신천에 금호강물을 혼합한 이후에도 부유물질, 생화학적산소요구량, 암모니아태 질소, 총인 등의 농도가 개선되지 않았다. 즉 금호강물의 혼합은 신천수질환경사업소에서 배출되는 방류수에 함유되어 있을 2차 오염물질의 희석이라는 이점외의 수질개선효과는 확인되지 않았다.l years and a new type of transfer crane has been developed.   • This paper presents a high dimming ratio Power-LED driver IC with high power which is capable of controlling LEDs. In order to accomplish a high dimming ratio LED driver, the preloading inductor current methodology is proposed for the power stage of the proposed method to achieve the fast transient response time during the Power-LED load switching. The information containing the current flowing on the LEDs can be utilized to predict the amount of the current on the inductor. The minimum LED current rising time of existing high dimming ratio Power-LED driver is limited by $3{\mu}s$, however that of the proposed high dimming ratio Power-LED driver is reduced about 1/10. The LED driver is implemented with 0.35um 60V BCDMOS 2-poly 4-metal process. The measurement results show that the proposed LED driver system features the minimum rising time as small as 240ns at the dimming frequency of 1KHz with a 12V of input voltage, nine white LEDs and 353mA of LED current. The LED rising time and power conversion efficiency of the chip are measured to be 240ns and 93.72%, respectively.

  • A shooting game is all game genres that hit targets through shooting. It include a lot of genres from a flying shot of game room to a personal shooting action game. In this point, a shooting game was regarded it as the origin of all game and it was developed from the early days of game. At present we can meet it in an electronic game room or personal computer, and mobile phone etc.. The popularity of shooting game caused to take aim by simple system, interface, and speedy play. Also it was enticed everyone to enjoy it easily. A shooting games is worked from old like ways until recently and a process of playing game is intuitive than another game. Therefore it popular with a PC player as well as persons of all levels. Beginners can train this game easily through direction such as control way of object, advent way of enemy aircraft and scroll way of background. But as an usability of working and controlling game, beginners of game development can pass over a shooting sense that shout and hit basically. And after design, they will feel that cannot convey realistic effect and thrill etc.. At a result, hitting sense happens to graphic elements and sound. Therefore a measure of effect on these elements is started from analysis of good shooting game. This study was to focus on the advance effect of hitting sense in shooting game through analysis centered for 'the Beetlewing' and '1945 Plus'.

BPEL Engine Generator for adding New Functions to BPEL based on Attribute Grammar and Aspect-Oriented Programming (속성문법과 관점지향 프로그래밍 기법을 이용한 BPEL에 새로운 기능을 추가하는 BPEL 엔진 생성기)

  • BPEL is used in various domains since it can describe the flow of works according to conditions and rules, and it can call web services in service-oriented computing environments. However, new functions that are not provided by BPEL grammar are required in specific domains. Generally, when new functions are required, the domain-specific language should be newly defined and developed, which requires high development cost. In this regard, a new function needs to be defined and added instead of developing domain-specific language with the new functions added. However, such methods only allow an addition of a single function, and it is difficult to design and add new functions according to the needs. This paper defines XAS4B document, which extends the BPEL grammar function through XML schema in order to add new functions, and proposes BPEL engine generator that generates BPEL engine with the new functions added by processing the document. The XAS4B document enables the creation of a new grammar added to BPEL using XML schema. It also shows the process of adding new functions to BPEL engine using AspectJ, JAVA implementation of aspect-oriented programming. The proposed system can add new functions using AspectJ without modifying BPEL engine. This allows the provision of new functions at low cost in various domains.

  • The goal of product line engineering is to support the systematic development of a set of similar software systems by understanding and controlling their common and distinguishing characteristics. The product line engineering is a process that develops reusable core assets and develops a set of software-intensive systems from a common set of core assets in a prescribed way. Currently, many software development technologies are accomplished in context of product line. However, much of the product line engineering research have focused on the reuse of work products relating to the software's architecture, detail design, and code. The product lines fulfill the promise of tailor-made systems built specifically for the needs of particular customers or customer groups. In particular, commonality and variability play central roles in the all product line development processes. These must be treated already during the requirement analysis phase. Requirements in product line engineering are basis of software development just like as traditional system development engineering, and basis of deciding other core assets' property - commonalities and variabilities. However, it is difficult to elicit, analyze and manage correct requirements. Therefore, it is necessary to develop systematic methods which can develop and manage requirement as core asset, which can be stable in anticipative change and can be well adapted to unpredictable change. In this paper, we suggest a method of managing requirements as core asset in product line. Through this method, the reuse of domain requirements can be enhanced. As a result, the cost and time of software development can be reduced and the productivity can be increased.

Sensitivity Analysis of Satellite BUV Ozone Profile Retrievals on Meteorological Parameter Errors (기상 입력장 오차에 대한 자외선 오존 프로파일 산출 알고리즘 민감도 분석)

  • The accurate radiative transfer model simulation is essential for an accurate ozone profile retrieval using optimal estimation from backscattered ultraviolet (BUV) measurement. The input parameters of the radiative transfer model are the main factors that determine the model accuracy. In particular, meteorological parameters such as temperature and surface pressure have a direct effect on simulating radiation spectrum as a component for calculating ozone absorption cross section and Rayleigh scattering. Hence, a sensitivity of UV ozone profile retrievals to these parameters has been investigated using radiative transfer model. The surface pressure shows an average error within 100 hPa in the daily / monthly climatological data based on the numerical weather prediction model, and the calculated ozone retrieval error is less than 0.2 DU for each layer. On the other hand, the temperature shows an error of 1-7K depending on the observation station and altitude for the same daily / monthly climatological data, and the calculated ozone retrieval error is about 4 DU for each layer. These results can help to understand the obtained vertical ozone information from satellite. In addition, they are expected to be used effectively in selecting the meteorological input data and establishing the system design direction in the process of applying the algorithm to satellite operation.

Failure Prediction for Weak Rock Slopes in a Large Open-pit Mine by GPS Measurements and Assessment of Landslide Susceptibility (대규모 노천광 연약암반 사면에서의 GPS 계측과 위험도평가에 의한 파괴예측)

  • The slope design of an open-pit mine must consider economical efficiency and stability. Thus, the overall slope angle is the principal factor because of limited support or reinforcement options available in such a setting. In this study, slope displacement, as monitored by a GPS system, was analyzed for a coal mine at Pasir, Indonesia. Predictions of failure time by inverse velocity analysis showed good agreement with field observations. Therefore, the failure time of an unstable slope can be roughly estimated prior to failure. A GIS model that combines fuzzy theory and the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) was developed to assess slope instability in open-pit coal mines. This model simultaneously considers seven factors that influence the instability of open-pit slopes (i.e., overall slope gradient, slope height, surface flows, excavation plan, tension cracks, faults, and water body). Application of the proposed method to an open-pit coal mine revealed an enhanced prediction accuracy of failure time and failure site compared with existing methods.

PRELIMINARY FEASIBILITY STUDY OF THE SOLAR OBSERVATION PAYLOADS FOR STSAT-CLASS SATELLITES

  • In this paper, we present preliminary feasibility studies on three types of solar observation payloads for future Korean Science and Technology Satellite (STSAT) programs. The three candidates are (1) an UV imaging telescope, (2) an UV spectrograph, and (3) an X-ray spectrometer. In the case of UV imaging telescope, the most important constraint seems to be the control stability of a satellite in order to obtain a reasonably good spatial resolution. Considering that the current pointing stability estimated from the data of the Far ultraviolet Imaging Spectrograph (FIMS) onboard the Korean STSAT-1, is around 1 arc minutes/sec, we think that it is hard to obtain a spatial resolution sufficient for scientific research by such an UV Imaging Telescope. For solar imaging missions, we realize that an image stabilization system, which is composed of a small guide telescope with limb sensor and a servo controller of secondary mirror, is quite essential for a very good pointing stability of about 0.1 arcsec. An UV spectrograph covering the solar full disk seems to be a good choice in that there is no risk due to poor pointing stability as well as that it can provide us with valuable UV spectral irradiance data valuable for studying their effects on the Earth's atmosphere and satellites. The heritage of the FIMS can be a great advantage of developing the UV spectrograph. Its main disadvantage is that two major missions are in operation or scheduled. Our preliminary investigations show that an X-ray spectrometer for the full disk Sun seems to be the best choice among the three candidates. The reasons are : (1) high temporal and spectral X-ray data are very essential for studying the acceleration process of energetic particles associated with solar flares, (2) we have a good heritage of X-ray detectors including a rocket-borne X-ray detector, (3) in the case of developing countries such as India and Czech, solar X-ray spectrometers were selected as their early stage satellite missions due to their poor pointing stabilities, and (4) there is no planned major mission after currently operating Reuven Ramaty High-Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (RHESSI) mission. Finally, we present a preliminary design of a solar X-ray spectrometer covering soft X-ray (2 keV) to gamma ray (10 MeV).
