  • In this paper, we use a fuzzy algorithm to detect and diagnose the error which is caused by time delay of the computer-controlled system. Generally, a computer-controlled system is composed of computer and process. And they communicate the data each other. In data communication, error occurs by some reasons, such as noise, disturbance, hardware defect, etc. Time delay is one of the reasons. And time delay makes it difficult to distinguish whether the system really has a problem or not. Therefore, we need to detect and diagnose the error from time delay. For difficulty of modeling and ambiguity of classification, we use a fuzzy algorithm. To verify the better performance of the proposed algorithm, we exemplified by some simulation results.

  • The inverted pendulum is an unstable, nonlinear system exposed to disturbances and its system parameters change. This paper presents the Time Delay Control design of the inverted pendulum using robot minipulator. The results obtained from a simulations indicated a reference tracking of the system. This paper will implement, the time delay control of the inverted pendulum using a robot manipulator, It will be that the time delay can control the inverted pendulum using a manipulator.

Robust stability analysis of real-time hybrid simulation considering system uncertainty and delay compensation

  • Real-time hybrid simulation (RTHS) which combines physical experiment with numerical simulation is an advanced method to investigate dynamic responses of structures subjected to earthquake excitation. The desired displacement computed from the numerical substructure is applied to the experimental substructure by a servo-hydraulic actuator in real time. However, the magnitude decay and phase delay resulted from the dynamics of the servo-hydraulic system affect the accuracy and stability of a RTHS. In this study, a robust stability analysis procedure for a general single-degree-of-freedom structure is proposed which considers the uncertainty of servo-hydraulic system dynamics. For discussion purposes, the experimental substructure is a portion of the entire structure in terms of a ratio of stiffness, mass, and damping, respectively. The dynamics of the servo-hydraulic system is represented by a multiplicative uncertainty model which is based on a nominal system and a weight function. The nominal system can be obtained by conducting system identification prior to the RTHS. A first-order weight function formulation is proposed which needs to cover the worst possible uncertainty envelope over the frequency range of interest. Then, the Nyquist plot of the perturbed system is adopted to determine the robust stability margin of the RTHS. In addition, three common delay compensation methods are applied to the RTHS loop to investigate the effect of delay compensation on the robust stability. Numerical simulation and experimental validation results indicate that the proposed procedure is able to obtain a robust stability margin in terms of mass, damping, and stiffness ratio which provides a simple and conservative approach to assess the stability of a RTHS before it is conducted.

  • This paper discusses tracking position control of linear actuator that has a time delay. The time delay happens when the process reads the sensor data and sends the control input to the plant located at a remote site in distributed control system. In this thesis, the time delay between the linear actuator and the discrete PID controller has constant value due to buffer device so the time delay can be modeled by Pade approximation but the large position error of the linear actuator is generated by the time delay. Therefore, the Smith predictor is used for tracking position control of the linear actuator with the time delay in order to minimize the effect of the time delay. Automatic carrier phase delay synchronization of PGC demodulation algorithm in fiber-optic interferometric sensors

  • Phase-generated carrier (PGC) demodulation algorithm is the main demodulation methods in Fiber-optic interferometric sensors (FOISs). The conventional PGC demodulation algorithms are influenced by the carrier phase delay between the interference signal and the carrier signal. In this paper, an automatic carrier phase delay synchronization (CPDS) algorithm based on orthogonal phase-locked technique is proposed. The proposed algorithm can calculate the carrier phase delay value. Then the carrier phase delay can be compensated by adjusting the initial phase of the fundamental carrier and the second-harmonic carrier. The simulation results demonstrate the influence of the carrier phase delay on the demodulation performance. PGC-Arctan demodulation system based on CPDS algorithm is implemented on SoC. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is able to obtain and eliminate the carrier phase delay. In comparison to the conventional demodulation algorithm, the signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SINAD) of the proposed algorithm increases 55.99dB.

  • The purposes of this study are twofold ; (1) to investigate the accuracy of estimation power of the individual models. such as those of Highway Capacity Nanual (HCM), Korea Highway Capacity Manual (KHCM), and NationalCooperative Highway Research Program(NCHRP) Report339 ; and (2) to develop an adjusted delay model which can be applied to the signal control system in urban areas. The study is mainly focused on four subjects related to the research purposes, which are as follows ; (1) characteristecs of exsisting delay models ; (2) inherent problems in exsisting delay models : (3) validation of the proposed model by the comparison of observed delay with estimated delay :and (4) a method which can be applied to develop an appropriate delay model for actrual signal control systems by the adjusted fact of the proposed model.

  • In constructing projects, there exist various kinds of work interferences, which cause a delay of the outset and completion of planned schedule because of some attributions, such as variability, uncertainty and complexity, and so schedule delay has been treated as a natural phenomenon. To reduce or prevent the schedule delay, a constant confirmation of schedule delay and a preparation of counter plans for finding out the cause structure of schedule delay should have been done. However, all this time the research has been mostly done on the calculation method or claim cases of schedule delay, and the range of analysis method of the cause structure of schedule delay has been multifarious from industrial views to views of specific work. Moreover, the classifying system and analysis method did not consider the trait, which cause the schedule delay, in constructing projects. For this reason, it is difficult to compare the cause of delay factors of the projects and to understand the effect of schedule delay by each factor. This paper restricts the range of the cause analysis of schedule delay to the field of site management in the projects and divides the cause structure of schedule delay into the cause objects and cause attributes of schedule delay according to the input elements. The system of classifying causes of schedule delay is examined by interviews with experts and questionnaire. Additionally, this paper analyzes the attributes of cause attributes and cause subjects and presents the analysis method and procedure of schedule delay with the application of VSM.

Motion Analysis with Time Delay Neural Network (시간 지연 신경망을 이용한 동작 분석)

  • A novel motion analysis system is presented in this paper. The proposed system is inspired by processing functions observed in the fly visual system, which detects changes in input light intensities, determines motion on both the local and the wide-field levels. The system has several differences from conventional motion analysis system. First, conventional systems usually focused on matching similar feature or optical flow, but neural network is applied in this system. Back propagation is used by learning method, and Tine Delay Neural Network (TDNN) is also used as analysis method. Second, while conventional systems usually limited on only two frames of sequence, the proposed system accept multiple frames of sequence. The experimental results showed a 94.7% correct rate with a speed of 71.47 milli seconds for real and synthetic images.

  • In this paper, a systematic design approach based on the parallel distributed compensation technique is proposed for chaotifying a general continuous-time Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy system. The fuzzy parallel distributed compensation controller (FPDCC) is composed of the feedback gain and time-delay feedback. The verification of chaos in the controlled continuous-time TS fuzzy system is done by the following procedures. First, we establish an asymptotically approximate relationship between a time-delay continuous-time TS fuzzy system and a discrete-time TS fuzzy system. Then, Marotto theorem is applied. Therefore, the generated chaos is in the sense of Li and Yorke. The boundedness in the controlled continuous-time TS fuzzy system is also proven via its associated discrete-time TS fuzzy system.

  • In this paper, CAN-based feedback control system is proposed for the pressurization system of korean high-speed train. The control performance of the system is evaluated. According to the requirement of the pressurization system A process model considering network delay and an adaptive PID control method based on the process model are proposed here. And it is shown that the proposed adaptive PID control method considering the network delay has on adequate feature compared to some other existing methods consequently it can be considered to be applied the pressurization system of korean high-speed train.
