상변화물질(PCM)을 이용한 열교환기용 동파방지밸브에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Freezing Protection Valve Using Phase Change Material(PCM) for the Heat Exchanger)

  • This paper is an experimental study on the freezing protection valve used for solar water heating, air-conditioning systems, and plumbing systems. When the phase change occurs from liquid to solid, most of the substances except water volumetrically shrink. And referred to as PCM(Phase Change Material) a substance with such properties, the phase change temperature varies depending on the material. To prevent the freezing of the plumbing system, such as air-conditioning system in the winter season, we developed a several types of freezing protection valve using PCM whose freezing temperature are $2-4^{\circ}C$. The working principle of the freezing protection valve is that the fluid inside the pipe is released to prevent the system-collapse when fluid temperature reaches the freezing temperature of the PCM. And then the valve is closed and returned to the original position automatically when the temperature of the operating fluid rises. In this paper, the operating temperatures, discharge flow rate and the response characteristics of the valve during the operation are tested and investigated. From the results of this research the freezing protection valves employing PCM are expected to be commercialized in the near future.

볼빔 시스템에 대한 계층적 공정 경쟁 유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 최적 퍼지 Cascade 제어기 설계 (Design of Optimized Fuzzy Cascade Controller Based on HFCGA for Ball & Beam System)

  • In this study, we introduce the design methodology of an optimized fuzzy cascade controller with the aid of hierarchical fair competition-based genetic algorithm(HFCGA) for ball & beam system. The ball & beam system consists of servo motor, beam and ball, and remains mutually connected in line in itself. The ball & beam system determines the position of ball through the control of a servo motor. The displacement change the position of ball leads to the change of the angle of the beam which determines the position angle of a servo motor. Consequently the displacement change of the position of the moving ball and its ensuing change of the angle of the beam results in the change of the position angle of a servo motor. We introduce the fuzzy cascade controller scheme which consists of the outer(1st) controller and the inner(2nd) controller as two cascaded fuzzy controllers, and auto-tune the control parameters(scaling factors) of each fuzzy controller using HFCGA. The inner controller controls the position of lever arm which corresponds to the position angle of a servo motor and the outer controller decides the set-point value of the inner controller. HFCGA is a kind of parallel genetic algorithms(PGAs), and helps alleviate the premature convergence being generated in conventional genetic algorithms (GAs). For a detailed comparative analysis from the viewpoint of the performance results and the design methodology, the proposed method for the ball & beam system which is realized by the fuzzy cascade controller based on HFCGA, is presented in comparison with the conventional PD cascade controller based on serial genetic algorithms.

입찰정보를 이용한 지형지물변화정보 관리시스템 개발 (Development of Management System for Feature Change Information using Bid Information)

  • 최근 공간정보의 생성 및 활용은 전통적인 측량분야 뿐만 아니라, CNS 및 ITS 등의 민간분야로 점차 확대되고 있다. 따라서, 공간정보의 정확성과 더불어 최신성이 중요한 요소로 자리잡고 있다. 하지만 현재의 수치지도는 일괄갱신 체계로 갱신되므로 최신성을 확보할 수 없으며, 사용자의 요구사항을 충족하기가 어렵다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 효율적인 공간정보 갱신을 위해 나라장터의 입찰정보를 분석하여 지형지물 변화정보를 관리할 수 있는 관리시스템을 개발하였다. 입찰정보로부터 지형지물의 변화 가능성이 있는 공사를 자동적으로 분류하고 이를 DB화하여 지형지물 변화 예측 정보를 생성하였다. 또한 텍스트형태의 입찰정보를 공간정보 데이터와 연계한 위치정보로 변환하였다. 본 시스템이 향후 안정적으로 구현된다면 수치지도 갱신에 필요한 막대한 금액이 일부 절감될 것이며, 공간정보의 최신성 확보에 많은 기여가 예상된다.

4차 산업 시대의 ICT 보안 변화와 CPS 보안 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on ICT Security Change and CPS Security System in the 4th Industry Age)

  • 본 연구에서 4차 산업 시대에서의 보안의 트랜드 변화와 보안위협, 4차 산업 시대의 보안 시스템 등 4차 산업 시대의 보안 시스템에 대해서 나타내었다. 4차 산업 시대는 ICT에서 IoT로 CPS보안으로 위협요소가 변화되며, 이에 따른 보안 패러다임 변화와 보안 시스템도 변화하여야 한다. 특히 CPS 보안을 해결하기 위해서는 환경적 보안과 관리적 보안이 더 중요하다. 4차 산업 시대 보안은 개별시스템에 대한 맞춤형 보안으로 변화하여야 제품 생산 설계에서 하드웨어와 소프트웨어가 융합된 보안 기술이 개발 초기부터 변화하여야 한다고 제안한다. 4차 산업의 보안 시스템은 네트워크와 같은 단일 시스템에서의 보안 시스템에서 개별시스템으로 다양한 기기들과 플랫폼들을 수용할 수 있는 보안 시스템으로 CPS 보안 시스템으로 설계 및 구현을 제안한다.

  • It is necessary to predict future water pollution sources in the establishment of Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) plan for watershed management. There are some difficulties and limits in estimating the pollution sources accurately since the prediction method is not firmly established. This study reviewed the existing methods of prediction and developed a technique characteristics. The characteristics were obtained by analyzing the change pattern of pollution sources by region and incorporated in the technique. A distinctive feature of the technique is to eliminate the influences of land use change included in the pollution source data of a region. The technique has been applied and tested. The test result showed the improvement on the prediction accuracy. A computer program was also developed for the easy application of the technique.

과도에너지 마진의 감도를 이용한 발전력 재배분의 Priority (Generation Rescheduling Priority using Transient Energy Margin Sensitivity)

  • This paper presents a method to evaluate generation rescheduling priority using transient energy margin sensitivity for power system operation. A change in any of the functional parameters obviously causes a change in the energy margin. Especially the energy margin sensitivity is evaluated for change with respect to generation. For a given contingency, the energy margin is computed and the respective sensitivities are also computed. It is possible to rank the sensitivities and thereby determine the generators which will affect the energy margin most and hence affect the stability (instability) of the system. The sign of the sensitivity indicates the direction of change in generation for a given change in energy margin.

기후변화협약 대응 대책으로 경유 승용차 판매 허용이 가지는 효과 (The Effect of Sales Permission of Diesel Passenger Cars as a Countermeasure against the Climatic Change Convention)

  • The climatic change convention is a matter of grave concern to the whole world. As a countermeasure against the climatic change convention, the Korean Government permits the sale of diesel passenger cars since 2005. In this paper, we analyse the effect of the sales permission of diesel passenger car as the countermeasure. The share, carbon emission, and pollutants emission of each type of passenger cars are analysed using system dynamics. The result is that the carbon emission is decreased by $5.5\%$ but the pollutants emission is increased by $5\%$. If the pollutants emission was dealt successfully with, the sales permission of diesel passenger cars would be a good countermeasure against the climatic change convention.

  • A lane change maneuver is a part of lateral control of an automated highway system. Assuming no direct measurement of its position during transition from one lane to another. A vehicle is controlled to follow the virtual desired trajectory using only on-board sensors. This paper investigates the development of a fuzzy controller for automated lateral control during emergencies. The performance of the fuzzy controller is presented at 20m/s for a step lane change and a double lane change. The robustness of fuzzy controller is investigated with respect to change in tire parameters and the number of passengers.

  • Understanding and adapting to changes of customer behavior is an important aspect for a company to survive in continuously changing environment. The aim of this paper is to develop a methodology which detects changes of customer behavior automatically from customer profiles and sales data at different time snapshots. For this purpose, we first define three types of changes as emerging pattern, unexpected change and the added / perished rule. Then we develop similarity and difference measures for rule matching to detect all types of change. Finally, the degree of change is evaluated to detect significantly changed rules. Our proposed methodology can evaluate degree of changes as well as detect all kinds of change automatically from different time snapshot data. A case study for evaluation and practical business implications for this methodology are also provided.

Adaptive Queue Management Based On the Change Trend of Queue Size

  • Most active queue management algorithms manage network congestion based on the size of the queue but ignore the network environment which makes queue size change. It seriously affects the response speed of the algorithm. In this paper, a new AQM algorithm named CT-AQM (Change Trend-Adaptive Queue Management) is proposed. CT-AQM predicts the change trend of queue size in the soon future based on the change rate of queue size and the network environment, and optimizes its dropping function. Simulation results indicate that CT-AQM scheme has a significant improvement in loss-rate and throughput.
