다중대역 SweepSAR 운용 모드의 시스템 성능 분석 (System Performance Analysis for Multi-Band SweepSAR Operating Mode)

  • 본 논문에서는 고해상도 광역관측을 위한 위성 영상레이다(Synthetic Aperture Radar)의 시스템 주요 성능을 분석하였다. 배열 급전을 이용하는 반사판 안테나의 패턴을 활용하였으며, 기존의 광역관측 모드인 ScanSAR 모드와 SweepSAR 모드에 대해서 비교 분석하였다. SweepSAR 모드는 넓은 범위에 빔을 송신하고, SCORE(SCan On REceive)를 기반으로 순차적으로 빔포밍을 통해 반향신호를 수신하는 고해상도 광역관측 모드이다. 본 논문에서는 SweepSAR 모드로 동작하는 위성의 동작원리 및 특징을 분석하고, 시스템 성능 파라미터를 시뮬레이션 해석하였다. 또한, 영상의 활용도를 증대시키기 위해서 다중 주파수 대역(C-band, X-band)에 대하여 성능 분석을 수행하였다.

Protein Quality and Amino Acid Utilization in Chickens

  • It is well known that dietary protein affects the growth performance and carcass composition of poultry. Over the last several decades, numerous studies have been carried out to investigate to optimize the level of dietary protein since the protein is an important and expensive constituent in poultry feed. It is generally accepted that dietary protein should represent a balance of amino acids supporting the requirements for growth and maintenance of birds. A protein with balanced essential amino acids that matches a bird's requirement and sufficient non-essential amino acid nitrogen to enable the synthesis of all of the non-essential amino acids, is referred to as an 'ideal protein'. Feeding of excess protein or amino acids may result in an amount of nitrogen emission. Most common method to reduce nitrogen emission is using diet formulation which has lower dietary crude protein level and higher concentration of amino acid supplements. However, there are conflicting reports whether low protein diets supplemented with synthetic amino acids can obtain the growth performance equal to high protein diets. Excessive nitrogen excretion caused by amino acid imbalance also may influence the environment of poultry house due to ammonia production from uric acid. These environmental conditions may increase the incidence of skin problem or respiratory diseases of chickens. Various strategies based on comprehensive understanding should be tested to optimize nitrogen utilization and reduce nitrogen emission while maintaining the performance in poultry production.

  • Most of the world's energy demand is met by fossil fuels, mainly petroleum and natural gas. Even though their production is not keeping up with the demand, there are many options before us-solar energy in its direct and indirect forms, nuclear breeders, thermonuclear power, geothermal energy, synthetic fluid fuels, and hydrogen as energy carrier to complement the nonfossil energy sources. But, before these energy alternatives can be utilized, in most cases, it is necessary to conduct extensive research and development work. In order to solve global energy and environmental issues, it is very important to develop and install energy supply systems which utilizes natural energy. The installation of these systems brings the following merits from the viewpoints of energy saving or environmental protection-(a) the positive use of natural energy reduces fossil fuel consumption; and (b) it also prevents environmental degradation. In this paper, the types of natural energy considered is confined to the solar, wind, hydraulic, geothermal and ocean-wave energy. And, the objective of the paper is to describe the state of the art of natural energy and future utilization prospect of them.

SAR를 이용한 토양수분 및 수문인자 산출 연구동향 (Research Trends on Estimation of Soil Moisture and Hydrological Components Using Synthetic Aperture Radar)

  • 영상레이더(Synthetic Aperture Radar, SAR)는 기상조건이나 주야, 일조에 상관없이 지표면을 촬영할 수 있고, 토양수분이나 지하수 등 수문인자의 탐색이 가능하여 수자원 분야에서 그 중요성이 점차 두드러지고 있다. SAR는 1970년대부터 인공위성에 탑재되기 시작하여 2020년 현재 15기 이상의 SAR 위성이 운용되고 있고 향후 5년 내에도 10기 내외의 위성이 발사될 예정이다. 최근에는 관측 폭 및 해상도 증진, 다중 편파 및 다중주파수, 관측 각도의 다양화 등 다양한 형태의 SAR 기술들이 개발 및 활용 중이다. 이에 본 고에서는 SAR 시스템의 간략한 역사와 더불어 토양수분 및 수문인자 산출과 관련된 연구동향을 조사하였다. 현재까지 SAR 위성을 활용하여 산출 가능한 수문인자는 토양수분, 해저지하수유출, 강수, 적설분포면적, 식생지수 등이 있으며, 그 중 토양수분은 물리적 모델인 IEM(Integral Equation Model)과 인공지능 기반의 ANN(Artificial Neural Network)을 대표적으로 활용하여 우리나라를 포함한 북미, 유럽, 인도 등 총 17개국에서 연구가 진행되고 있다. 위성 탑재체는 RADARSAT-1, ENVISAT ASAR, 그리고 ERS-1/2가 가장 많이 사용되었으나 현재는 운영이 종료되었으며, 현재 운영 중인 RADARSAT-2, Sentinel-1, SMAP 등의 활용도 점차 늘어나고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 우리나라는 2025년 발사를 목표로 C-band SAR를 탑재한 수자원·수재해 중형위성을 개발 중이므로, SAR를 이용한 다양한 수문인자 산출 연구가 활성화될 것으로 예상된다.

  • Instead of barium carbonate, domestic barite was used as the flux in manufacturing theinsulating porcelain. To avoid the problems arising from the decomposition of barite in the body during firing, BaO.$Al_2O_3$ was synthesized at $1300^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours. synthetic BaO.$Al_2O_3$ was mixed with other materials such as kaoline, alumina, clay, dolomite. The RO content (CaO. MgO. BaO) of the batches was varied from range of 4 to 14wt. % at 2wt. % - intervals, and firing temperature was varied from 1280 to 140$0^{\circ}C$-at 4$0^{\circ}C$ intervals The properties such as water absorption, bulk density. mechnical strength, specific resistance, and linear shrinkage were measured. The body containing 12 wt.% of RO content showed the satisfactory for the application in the Fixed Carbon Film Resistor.

Epidermal growth factor 발현을 위한 화분립의 이용 (Utilization of pollen grains for the expression of epidermal growth factor)

  • 개화시기의 수술로부터 수집한 백합화분을 aluminum oxide 미세입자와 섞어 교반에 의해 상해를 발생시켰다. 이어서 이들 화분은 signal peptide-fused epidermal growth factor (EGF) DNA를 지니는 Agrobacterium 세포로 vacuum infiltration을 시켰으며 24 hr 화분신장을 통한 배양을 실시하였다. 이들 신장 화분에서의 EGF mRNA 및 단백질 발현은 성공적으로 확인되었으며 이는 cDNA blot hybridization 및 immuno-blotting의 분석결과이다.

  • This study was conducted for an efficient utilization of waste fly ash obtained from the power plant. Fly ash was used for synthesizing zeolite. Na-Pl zeolite could be easily synthesized from waste fly ash and showed the potential to remove heavy metal ions. The synthetic zeolite showed good adsorption property for heavy metal much better than raw fly ash and natural zeolites. Na-Pl exhibited the high adsorption efficiency with a maximum value of 260 Pb mg/g and strong affinity for Pb2+ ion. The metal ion selectivity of Na-Pl was determined in a decreasing order : $Pb^{2+}$>$Cd^{2+}$>$Cu^{2+}$+>$Zn^{2+}$>$Fe^{3+}$

  • On facing the information society, the multi-faceted information utilization and the establishment of synthetic information management system in the overall industry and business administration have raised considerable attention. Thus, this study aims at the improvement of freight transport management through the establishment of pooling of the road freight transport information system as its effective information supporting system. Especially, it describes the freight transport information network, structure, function, and subject of the freight transport information center, as a basic planning design for the freight transport information system. Furthermore, it deals with the identification of the systems design requirements, working process, and S/W & H/W design specifications. Finally, we expect that this study will be contributed for the improvement of the road freight transport business to meet both the increase of freight transport demands due to the continuing economic growth and the social needs for the establishment of transport-order.

셀룰로오스 아세테이트 포장소재의 이용 및 고찰 (Review on Cellulose acetate as a Packaging Materials)

  • It is becoming increasingly important to utilize alternative raw materials for plastic industries other than petrochemical-based plastics. Cellulose derivatives were the bases of the original synthetic plastics. Cellulose and its derivatives, especially the widely used cellulose acetate (CA), constitute one of the main classes of raw materials for production on artificial fibers, films, plastics etc. CA is one of the well known polymers produced from naturally available plant substance. Many researches have focused on the isolation of cellulose from the plant cells to use them as cellulose derivatives and composite materials. Chemical and mechanical treatments provide changes on the molecular structures influencing the fundamental properties of these naturally abundant polymer. The aim of this review article is to review biodegradation, synthesis, formation, and utilization of cellulose esters, especially di-acetate, used in packaging related researches.
