A family of dual-DC-input (DI) dual-buck inverters (DBIs) is proposed by employing a DI switching cell as the input of traditional DBIs. Three power ports, i.e. a low voltage DC input port, a high voltage DC input port and an AC output port, are provided by the proposed DI-DBIs. A low voltage DC source, whose voltage is lower than the peak amplitude of the AC side voltage, can be directly connected to the DI-DBI. This supplies power to the AC side in single-stage power conversion. When compared with traditional DBI-based two-stage DC/AC power systems, the conversion stages are reduced, and the power rating and power losses of the front-end Boost converter of the DI-DBI are reduced. In addition, five voltage-levels are generated with the help of the two DC input ports, which is a benefit in terms of reducing the voltage stresses and switching losses of switches. The topology derivation method, operation principles, modulation strategy and characteristics of the proposed inverter are analyzed in-depth. Experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed DI-DBIs.

In recent, electronic devices were able to develop and focus for ultra-compact size, intelligence, multifunction and broadband. Their SMPS is realized to ultra-compact size, light weight, high efficiency, high reliability, low noises. The power module which can be used to supply DC output from a commercial power supply (85 to 265 VAC). A switching power supply can be made easily by adding simply external circuit, such as microcontroller, a relay, etc. It would be apply to mostly electronic devices, and fit the global project "Saving energy". But we need to statistical analysis for a quality and performance about a load and an output voltage in product.
This paper proposes and designs a new output filter called an LCFL filter for application to three phase three wire shunt active power filters (SAPF). This LCFL filter is derived from a traditional LCL filter by replacing its capacitor with a C-type filter, and then constructing an L-C-type Filter-L (LCFL) topology. The LCFL filter can provide better switching ripple attenuation capability than traditional passive damped LCL filters. The LC branch series resonant frequency of the LCFL filter is set at the switching frequency, which can bypass most of the switching harmonic current generated by a SAPF converter. As a result, the power losses in the damping resistor of the LCFL filter can be reduced when compared to traditional passive damped LCL filters. The principle and parameter design of the LCFL filter are presented in this paper, as well as a comparison to traditional passive damped LCL filters. Simulation and experimental results are presented to validate the theoretical analyses and effectiveness of the LCFL filter.

Recently, the demonstration and research on the power transmission using high voltage DC such as HVDC(High Voltage DC), Smart Grid, DC transmission and distribution have been actively conducted. In order to control the power converter in high-voltage DC power transmission system, SMPS(Switching Modulation Power Supply) for power converter control using high-voltage DC input is essential. However, the demand for high-pressure SMPS is still low, so the development is not enough. In the low-output SMPS using the high-voltage input, it is difficult to achieve high efficiency due to the switching transient loss especially at light load. In this paper, we propose a new switching scheme for high power SMPS control for low output power. The proposed method can provide better efficiency increase effect in the light load region compared to the existing PWM method. To verify the feasibility of the proposed method, a 40 W SMPS for HVDC MMC(Modulation Multi-level Converter) was designed and verified by simulation.
In this paper, efficiency and loss characteristics of GaN FET were reported by applying it into the QR flyback converter. In particular, for the comparison of efficiency characteristics, QR flyback converter experimental circuits with Si FET and with GaN FET were separately produced in 12W class. As a result of the experiment, the experimental circuit of the QR flyback converter using GaN FET reached a high efficiency of 90% or more when the load power was 2W or more, and the maximum efficiency was observed to be about 92%, and the maximum loss power was about 1.1W. Meanwhile, the efficiency of the experimental circuit with Si FET increased as the input voltage increased, and the maximum efficiency was observed to be about 82% when the load power was 9W or higher, and the maximum loss power was about 2.8W. From the results, it is estimated that that in the case of the experimental circuit applying the GaN FET switch, the power conversion efficiency was improved as the switching loss and conduction loss due to on-resistance were reduced, and the internal loss due to the synchronous rectifier was minimized. Consequently, it is concluded that the GaN FET is suitable for under 20W class power supply unit as a high efficiency power switch.

This paper presents a novel soft-switching PWM utility frequency AC to high frequency AC power conversion circuit Incorporating boost-half-bridge inverter topology, which is more suitable and acceptable for cost effective consumer induction heating applications. The operating principle and the operation modes are presented using the switching mode and the operating voltage and current waveforms. The performances of this high-frequency inverter using the latest IGBTs are illustrated, which includes high frequency power regulation and actual efficiency characteristics based on zero voltage soft switching (ZVS) operation ranges and the power dissipation as compared with those of the previously developed high-frequency inverter. In addition, a dual mode control scheme of this high frequency inverter based on asymmetrical pulse width modulation (PWM) and pulse density modulation (PDM) control scheme is discussed in this paper in order to extend the soft switching operation ranges and to improve the power conversion efficiency at the low power settings. The power converter practical effectiveness is substantially proved based on experimental results from practical design example.

A topology decreased switching loss and voltage stress by zero voltage switching is presented in this paper. Generally, Switching mode converting productes voltage stress and power losses due to excessive voltage and current. which affect to performance of power supply and reduce overall efficiency of equipments. Virtually, In flyback converter, transient peak voltage and current at switcher are generated by parasitic elements. To solve these problems, present ZVS flyback converter topology applied a auxiliary circuit. Incorporation of auxiliary circuit into a conventional flyback topology serves to reduce power losses and to minimize switching voltage stress. Snubber capacitor in auxiliary circuit serves ZVS state by control voltage variable time at turn on and off of main switch, then reduces voltage stress and power losses. The proposed converter has lossless switching in variable load condition with wide range. A detailed analysis of the circuit is presented and the operation procedure is illustrated. A (50W 100kHz prototype) ZVS flyback converter using a auxiliary circuit is built which shows an efficiency improvement as compared to a conventional hard switching flyback converter.

In this paper, a new algorithm based on sensitivity method for alleviating overloads in power networks is presented to find the switching branches effectively. By applying the new sensitivity of the line flow with respect to the change of the branch impedance, both on and off switchings for alleviating overloads in power networks are performed systematically at once and an effective scheme for drawing up a plan to alleviate overloads of the lines is presented through screening a large number of line switching cases easily. The ranking of switching branches is calculated according to the new switching algorithm based on sensitivity method and the switching of the ranked branches is performed in the order of ranking until overloads are eliminated. In order to show the effects of this algorithm, it is applied to a small scale power system of IEEE 39-bus test system.
In this paper, an improved soft switching forward dc/dc converter is proposed. The proposed converter is constructed by using non-dissipate snubbers in parallel with the main switch and output diode of the conventional forward converter. Due to use of the non-dissipative snubbers, the proposed converter achieves zero-voltage switching for all switching devices and output diodes without switching losses. The complete operating principles and experimental results will be presented.

This paper presents the synchronous soft switching boost converter. It is shown that the proposed converter effectively reduces conduction loss by using MOSFET device in place of diode in the conventional boost converter. Also, this soft switching boost converter can reduce switching loss using ZVS method through resonant inductor and capacitor. The proposed synchronous soft switching boost converter is suitable for PV generation system.
