This paper proposes a three-phase three-switch buck-type converter as the MSC of a wind turbine system. Owing to a novel switching modulation scheme that can eliminate the unwanted diode rectifier mode switching state, the proposed system exhibits a satisfying ac voltage and current waveform quality and torque ripple up to the level of a typical current source rectifier even under a wide power factor operating range. The proposed system has been verified through simulations and HILS tests on a PMSG wind turbine model of 5MW/4160V. The proposed converter has been shown to provide a stator current THD of 3.9% and a torque ripple of 1% under the rated power condition. In addition to the inherent advantage of the reduced switch count of three-phase three-switch buck-type converters, the proposed switching modulation technique can make this converter a viable solution for the MSC placed inside of a nacelle, which is under severe volume, weight and mechanical vibration design limits.
This paper presents an interleaved resonant converter with a parallel-series transformer connection in order to achieve ripple current reduction at the output capacitor, zero voltage turn-on for the active switches, zero current turn-off for the rectifier diodes, less voltage stress on the rectifier diodes, and less current stress on the transformer primary windings. The primary windings of the two transformers are connected in parallel in order to share the input current and to reduce the root-mean-square (rms) current on the primary windings. The secondary windings of the two transformers are connected in series in order to ensure that the transformer primary currents are balanced. A full-wave diode rectifier is used at the output side to clamp the voltage stress of the rectifier diode at the output voltage. Two circuit modules are operated with the interleaved PWM scheme so that the input and output ripple currents are reduced. Based on the resonant behavior, all of the active switches are turned on under zero voltage switching (ZVS), and the rectifier diodes are turned off under zero current switching (ZCS) if the operating switching frequency is less than the series resonant frequency. Finally, experiments with a 1kW prototype are described to verify the effectiveness of the proposed converter.

The clamp mode (CM) forward zero voltage switching multi resonant converter (ZVS-MPC) with self-driven synchronous rectifier is studied. The loss at the synchronous rectification stage of the converter is analyzed using MOSFET piecewise linear model and is compared with the loss at the conventional schottky diode rectification stage of th econverter. From the results of the analysis, it is known that the use fo MOSFETs as a synchronous rectifier reduces the loss at the rectification stage overthe whole load range comparing the use of schottky diodes as a conventional rectifier in the converter. In order to verify the validit of the analysis, we have built a 33W(3.3V/10A) CM forward ZVS-MRC with self-driven synchronous rectifier, in which switching frequency is 1MHz, and tested. FRom the experimental results, it is known that the synchronous rectification achieved about 1W improvement in the loss at the rectification stage and about 3% in the efficiency at the converter as compared with the conventional schottky diode rectification.

This paper proposes a simple unity power factor zero-voltage-transition (ZVT) pulse-width-modulated (PWM) single-phase rectifier, which features reduced switching and conduction losses. The switching loss reduction is achieved by a simple auxiliary commutation circuit, and the conduction loss reduction is achieved by employing a single-stage converter, rather than a typical double-stage converter comprising of a front-end rectifier and a boost rectifier. Furthermore, thanks to good features such as a simple PWM control at constant frequency, low switch stress, low Var rating of commutation circuits, and simple power circuit structure, it is suitable for high power applications. The principles of operation are explained in detail, and a major characteristics analysis and the experimental results of the new converter are also included in this paper.
An analysis of the junction capacitance in resonant rectifiers which has a significant impact on the operating point of resonance circuits is studied in this paper, where the junction capacitance of the rectifier diode is to decrease the resonant current and output voltage in the circuit when compared with that in an ideal rectifier diode. This can be represented by a simplified series resonant equivalent circuit and a voltage transfer function versus the normalized operating frequency at varied values of the resonant capacitor. A low voltage to high voltage push-pull DC/DC resonant converter was used as a design example. The design procedure is based on the principle of the half bridge class-DE resonant rectifier, which ensures more accurate results. The proposed scheme provides a more systematic and feasible solution than the conventional resonant push-pull DC/DC converter analysis methodology. To increase circuit efficiency, the main switches and the rectifier diodes can be operated under the zero-voltage and zero-current switching conditions, respectively. In order to achieve this objective, the parameters of the DC/DC converter need to be designed properly. The details of the analysis and design of this DC/DC converter's components are described. A prototype was constructed with a 62-88 kHz variable switching frequency, a 12 $V_{DC}$ input voltage, a 380 $V_{DC}$ output voltage, and a rated output power of 150 W. The validity of this approach was confirmed by simulation and experimental results.
New electronic ballast for metal halide laws is proposed New ballast has higher efficiency than that of conventional ballast. Proposed 2 stage ballast uses low arm switch as synchronous rectifier mitch. Switch-on voltage drop is smaller than that of diode in small current(<1.5A). High arm switch is turned on in zero voltage in proposed ballast. So conduction loss and switching loss are reduced Index word - synchronous rectifier mitch, toro voltage switching, conduction loss, switching loss.

The rectifier is the main element in the telecom DC power system. This paper investigates the advantages and disadvantages of three rectifier techniques ; thyristor, ferro - resonant, and switched - mode. Compared with other techniques, the switched - mode rectifier tech¬nique offers several advantages such as higher efficiency, smaller size and weight, and lower audible noise. Technical requirements in telecom rectifier plant are also described. Finally, the future trends in telecom powering are discussed in connection with the advance oftelecom net¬works.
For small capacity rectifier circuits such as these for consumer electronics and appliances, capacitor input type rectifier circuits are generally used. Consequently, various harmonics generated within the power system become a serious problem. Various studies of this effect have been presented previously. However, most of these employ switching devices, such as FETs and the like. The absence of switching devices makes systems more tolerant to over-load, and brings low radio noise benefits. We propose a power factor connection scheme using a LC resonant in commercial frequency without switching devices. In this method, It makes a sinusoidal wave by widening conduction period using the current resonance in commercial frequency, Hence, the harmonic characteristics can be significantly improved, where the lower order harmonics, such as the fifth and seventh orders are much reduced. The result are confirmed by the theoretical and experimental implementations.
This study examines the zero-voltage switching (ZVS) operation of an active-clamped forward converter (ACFC) with a current-doubler rectifier (CDR). The ZVS condition can be obtained with a much smaller leakage inductance compared to that of a conventional ACFC. Due to the significantly reduced leakage inductance, the design is optimized and the circulating loss is reduced. The operation of the ACFC with a CDR is analyzed, and a detailed ZVS analysis is conducted on the basis of a steady-state analysis. From the results, a design consideration for ZVS improvement is presented. Loss analyses of the converters shows that enhanced soft-switching contributes to an efficiency improvement under light-load condition. Experimental results from a 100-W (5-V/20-A) prototype verify that the ACFC with a CDR can attain ZVS across an extended load range of loads and achieve a higher efficiency than conventional ACFCs.
