  • To investigate the current pest management status in Korea, a survey was conducted from 151 students and graduates in the Korea National College of Agriculture and Fisheries (KNCAF) by on-line. The questionnaire consists of two divisions, basic questions and pest control questions. The basic questions were including the respondent's age, academic status, cultivating crops and cultivating area. The pest control questions were including pest control methods, pesticide selection rationale, and pest forecasting methods. As a summary of basic questions, the respondents in their 20s accounted for 91.2%. Moreover, 34.5% of the respondents had over 3 hectares of cultivating area. The cultivating methods were differed by cultivating crops. As a summary of pest control questions, major control methods were using the conventional chemicals (>66%). To understand the pesticide selection rationale, farmers/respondents made their own decisions based on existing control techniques (30%) or depended on the decisions of pesticide vendors (29%). As for the pest forecasting method, it was mainly conducted by the Rural Development Administration affiliated organization (29%) and the National Crop Pest Management System (27%). Regarding the reliability of the pest diagnosis and pesticide prescription of pesticide vendors, 97% of the respondents marked above average. However, there was no choice on strong reliability. Interestingly, 79% of the respondents agreed to train experts for pest diagnosis and pesticide prescription with high necessity and, in particular, 47% of respondents were very strongly supported. These results suggest that the farmers might be need more qualified experts in pest diagnosis and pesticide prescriptions. Taken together, these survey results would provide important information to understand the current status of pest management by farmers' point of view and useful to set the direction of pest control.

  • A health index was proposed that evaluates personal health state from both measured physiological variables and survey questions. Four health indices were defined such as cardiovascular index, stress index, obesity index, and management index. The total health index was calculated by summing these four health indices. Physiological variables such as blood pressure, heart rate variability(HRV), accelerated photoplethysmograph(APG), and body fat percentage were non-invasively measured and a survey questionnaire that asks personal health state, exercise intensity, and food preference was developed. The suggested health index was applied to thirty eight persons including 30 patients and 8 normal persons with an average age of 51.8. The average health index was estimated to be 75.1 out of 100 points. Young age group(below 50) and men group showed higher health indices than the aged(over 50) and women groups. The correlation coefficient between the cardiovascular index and stress index was found to be 0.513, which means stress is related to cardiovascular health state. The correlation coefficient between the measurements and survey questions was 0.385 for the cardiovascular index. It was as low as 0.182 for the stress index. More case studies may improve correlations between measurements and survey questions, and then, the current health index system may develop as an effective tool to evaluate personal health state.

  • The development of artificial intelligence technology changes the social structure and educational environment, and the importance of artificial intelligence capabilities continues to increase. This study was conducted with the purpose of developing a checklist of questions to measure AI capabilities of elementary school students. To achieve the purpose of the study, a Delphi survey was used to analyze literature and develop questions. For literature analysis, two domestic studies, five international studies, and the Ministry of Education's curriculum report were collected through a search. The collected data was analyzed to construct core competency measurement elements. The core competency measurement elements consisted of understanding artificial intelligence (6 elements), artificial intelligence thinking (4 elements), artificial intelligence ethics (4 elements), and artificial intelligence social-emotion (3 elements). Considering the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the constructed measurement elements, 19 questions were developed. The developed questions were verified through the first Delphi survey, and 7 questions were revised according to the revision opinions. The validity of 19 questions was verified through the second Delphi survey. The checklist items developed in this study are measured by teacher evaluation based on performance and behavioral observations rather than a self-report questionnaire. This has the implication that the measurement results of competency are raised to a reliable level.

The Literature reviews included relevant studies of our society and its cultures such as premarital sexuality and behaviors, expressions of love or intimacy, contraception, abortion, sex education and sexuality in family contexts. The survey was conducted to 355 university students and 200 working premarital adults in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Gangwon areas. It has 21 questions to measure sexuality by sexual altitude sentence completion Scale (composed of 4 categories and options of the other items)which has been widely used by professional counsel institutes. Male and female students complete the sentence of this scale, then similar contents were classified. Love type test was developed by Hendrick & Hendrick (1986) was used to measure love and intimacy. Results from the sentence completion for sexuality attitudes are generally as follows: First of all, there was clear difference in male md female responses about each categories. For example, With regard to the questions on premarital sex with opposite sex friends of long time relationship, more than half of male students said it is all right, whereas more than half of female students answered to the same questions that it can never be possible, with many answering 'I don't know', or leaving them unanswered. The survey result, masturbation answered that Female is needed however many Females actually don't it. But Male is almost necessary and conduct himself. On questions regarding, Homosexuality is both male and Female answered opposed. These results of the study show that premarital adults clearly open to issues on sexuality compared with the past, but they have not established their own sexual identity, which can be seen with big gap between male and female perspectives, due to experiencing confusion under the changing environment of the society.
