The Korean Working Conditions Survey (KWCS) is a state-approved statistical survey that has been conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute (OSHRI) every 3 years since 2006 to monitor changes in the working conditions of Koreans. This cross-sectional national survey involves a sample of 50,000 employed people aged 15 or older. KWCS measures various working conditions through > 130 survey questions, including questions regarding working hours, labor intensity, work-life balance, degree of exposure to risk factors, and subjective health status. Professional survey interviewers visit households and conduct face to face interviews. KWCS provides data and statistics for occupational safety and health polices and research in Korea. Furthermore, OSHRI holds academic conferences every year, awards high-quality academic papers, and supports researchers using data. Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of the Second Korean Working Conditions Survey (KWCS), focusing on its validity and reliability. Methods: The external validity was evaluated by the assessment of sampling procedures and the response rate, in order to investigate the representativeness of the sample. The content validity was evaluated by the assessment of the development of the questionnaire, and the consistency of questions for the selected construct. The test-retest method was used to evaluate the reliability by means of a phone call survey of 30% of the respondents, who were randomly selected. The respondents' satisfaction regarding the survey procedures and interview time were analyzed to evaluate the quality of survey data. Results: The external validity was assured by an acceptable sampling procedure, rigid multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling. The content validity was also guaranteed by a reasonable procedure for the development of the questionnaire with a pretest. The internal consistency of the questions for work autonomy was maintained, with 0.738 of Cronbach's alpha. The response rate of 36% was lower than that of the European Working Conditions Survey (EWCS), with a contact rate of 66%, compared to 76% for the EWCS. The matching rates of the five retested questions were more than 98% reliable. Conclusion: The quality of the second KWCS was assured by the high external and content validity and reliability. The rigid sampling procedure and development of the questionnaire contributed to quality assurance. The high level of reliability may be guaranteed by the sophisticated field survey procedures and the development of a technical manual for interviewers. The technical strategies for a high response rate should be developed for future surveys.

Decreasing response rates to traditional survey methods, like face-to-face and telephone interviews, have led survey practitioners around the world to seek new ways of conducting surveys in recent years." The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated this problem because it made conducting face-to-face interviews even more difficult than before. For example, it made conducting face-to-face surveys infeasible in 2020 in South Korea, and so the Korean Academic Multimode Open Survey (KAMOS) was unable to conduct a planned face-to-face survey to recruit new panel members. The entire 8,514-member panel, established via two-stage probability-based sampling from 2016 to 2019, was invited to take three online/telephone surveys in 2020. Of these panel members, 1,352 responded to at least one survey in 2020. To test to what extent the panel remained representative of the adult South Korean population, we compared the two groups of panel members: those who responded to at least one survey in 2020 and those who did not. After weighting both groups on the basis of age, sex, and geographical area, we analyzed their responses to some of the questions that were asked during multiple rounds of the face-to-face panel-recruiting interviews. Using Cohen's d for survey items that could be analyzed numerically and Cramér's V for categorical items, we were able to conclude that the respondents to the 2020 surveys were equivalent to the non-respondents in terms of both demographics and in the answers they originally gave to substantive questions on a variety of topics related to social science or public opinion research, including questions about quality of life, societal issue, and politics (Cohen's d items <0.2, 95% CI; Cramér's V items <0.1, 95% CI). This analysis may provide a model for others who wish to test the continued representativeness of their panel or who would like to use a different survey mode or change some other aspect of their methodology and test whether it is equivalent to their former methodology. Our success in building a panel that retained its representativeness may be useful to those in other countries where face-to-face surveys had previously been the norm but are becoming increasingly difficult to conduct.
Purpose: This study aims to investigate and identify the current awareness of plagiarism among university students in their assignments and find ways to take measures against it. This study can be used as a basis for plagiarism prevention education for instructors and learners at universities, as well as for providing standards for plagiarism in assignment design and for dealing with distrust and conflict among students due to plagiarism. Research design, data and methodology: This study was conducted in July 2024 with a survey of 347 students majoring in aviation and tourism at a university in the Chungcheong-do region. In order to investigate the current status and perception of plagiarism in college students' class work, this study referred to previous studies on plagiarism among college students and conducted a questionnaire consisting of 22 questions, including 3 questions on general matters, 7 questions on plagiarism perception, 5 questions on reasons for plagiarism, and 7 questions on research ethics experience. Results: In the survey results through this study, it was found that most of the university students were aware of the concept of plagiarism, but more students were unable to accurately distinguish the recognition of specific content such as citations. The reason for plagiarism in assignments was found to be the easiest to use Internet data. Regarding the research ethics experience, it was found that most of the students lacked experience at school or during class.
This study investigates the effects of information and predisposition on individual responses to hypothetical questions. By employing the empirical implications of theoretical models (EITM) framework, I confirm that information and predisposition have positive effects on individual substantive responses to the hypothetical questions about the independence-unification issue in Taiwan. Respondents with higher levels of information and predisposition are more likely to provide substantive responses. More importantly, information and predisposition exert a negative interaction effect on individual responses to hypothetical questions, which implies that when an individual counts more on information to respond to hypothetical questions, her predisposition plays a less important role in her responses and vice versa. Finally, this study suggests that hypothetical questions are effective to probe individual opinion on specific issues under hypothetical conditions.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a satisfaction evaluation survey tool that reflects the characteristics of the program for housing welfare supported in long-term public rental housing in Seoul. Research design, data and methodology: The main research methods of the study were review of previous studies, literature review, and expert consultation. Results: First, the characteristics of each housing welfare program being promoted by Seoul City were summarized, and the characteristics were reflected in the evaluation survey tool. Second, the SERVOUAL model, a service quality model, was used to measure satisfaction with the housing welfare program and modified to suit the characteristics of the program. Third, an evaluation survey tool was constructed by dividing the evaluation tool into common questions and individual questions, and for the operation and sustainability of the housing welfare program, rather than just evaluating satisfaction, program loyalty was used as a survey item. Fourth, through expert advice, more than 10 evaluation questions for each housing welfare program were revised. Conclusions: The results of future research are expected to be used to prepare practical operation plans through annual monitoring of housing welfare programs and comparative analysis between programs.
In this paper, in order to study the relationship between the safety culture of highway management agencies and disaster reduction activities (BCMS), a measurement tool was identified through previous research on safety culture, and the validity of the measurement tool was confirmed through exploratory factor analysis. I want to check. The subjects of the study were workers belonging to disaster reduction activity management system certification organizations among highway management organizations. The highway management agencies are the Korea Expressway Corporation, which manages the functional continuity of national highways nationwide, and 8 of the 21 private road agencies that manage the functional continuity of the highways. The safety culture measurement tool is an indicator that measures safety culture factors, and is reorganized by the researcher based on survey items from previous studies, with management/manager safety values and attitudes, safety communication, safety education and training, and safety regulations/management system as subfactors. A total of 24 questions were comprised of the survey tool. As a result of the study, the result of exploratory factor analysis was that the safety culture scale was extracted into four factors based on theoretical grounds, and the total cumulative variance was 80.360%. When checking the questions for each factor, it was found that all the questions loaded on the factor that was originally intended to be measured. Factor 1 is management, factor 2 is safety, and factor 3 is communication., Factor 4 was named education. The purpose of this study is to compare learners' perceptions regarding the processes and the educational effects of fostering learner-generated questions in engineering education according to the questioning attitude of engineering learners. For this, after developing and implementing the appropriate strategies for fostering learner-generated questions in an engineering statistics course, this study analyzed 56 learners' survey responses and used ANOVA to investigate the group differences. The results showed that the educational effects and implications of fostering learner-generated questions were different according to the learners' questioning attitude. The study also confirmed that learners' questioning attitude should be considered as one of the important learner's characteristics in developing and implementing the strategies of fostering learner-generated questions in engineering education. Especially, fostering learner-generated questions produced positive effects on the passive questioning learners but not particularly on the learners who were asking no questions at all in other courses. Learners who asked no questions still have difficulty in generating deep meaningful questions and presenting them and thus require more instructors' strategies and active support for them.
This study analyzes the athleisure wear purchase status, wearing conditions, and design preferences of men in their 20s and 30s and provides basic data for the development of men's athleisure wear that reflects consumer preferences. An online survey was conducted on 200 men from August 23 to August 27, 2023. The questionnaire consisted of a total of 48 questions, including 8 questions about the respondent's general information, 19 questions about the purchase status of athleisure wear, 6 questions about the status of wearing athleisure wear, and 15 questions about athleisure wear design preferences. The survey results are as follows. The most common motive for exercise participation was 'maintaining health.' 'Nike' was the most preferred and purchased brand among athleisure wear brands, and the main place of purchase of athleisure wear was 'Internet and mobile shopping malls', reflecting the recent purchasing trend of the MZ generation. When purchasing athleisure wear, the most common selection criterion was 'design', followed by 'fitting comfort', 'possibility to use as daily wear', and 'price'. The most common route to obtain purchase information was 'Internet search', and the 'overall satisfaction' with athleisure wear was found to be satisfactory with an average of 3.83. The most common reason for wearing athleisure wear was 'because it is comfortable to do activities', followed by 'because it can be used as everyday wear'. Lastly, 'black', 'short-sleeved t-shirt', 'short length' sleeve, 'round neckline', 'waist length', and 'relaxed loose fit' were preferred for the top design, and 'black', 'shorts', 'full elastic type' waistband, 'regular fit that fits the body well' were preferred for the bottom design.
The study analyzed the result of a survey on educational programs after the provision of professional development education in textile-based industries, with the aim of suggesting a method of evaluating professional development education, by shedding new light on the educational contents and environment required by industries and on the components required to strengthen competence based on an evaluation of the outcomes of such educational programs. Methods of analysis included frequency & average analysis, ANOVA and portfolio analysis, and a questionnaire containing seven questions on satisfaction with 'educational contents,' six questions on satisfaction with 'educational environment,' three questions on educational effect and questions on overall satisfaction with education was used as an analysis tool. Data used in the analysis was obtained through a survey of the attendants of lectures given from January 2014 to September 2014, and the respondents included 30 persons enrolled in CEO courses, 167 persons enrolled in employment courses and 101 persons enrolled in employment & start-up business courses. The results of the research are as follows. 1. Looking at frequency distribution by educational course, it was shown, from highest to lowest, to be Incumbent Courses (167 persons, 56%), Employment & Start-up Courses (101 persons, 33.9%) and CEO Courses (30 persons, 10.1%). Looking at average analysis by question, the value of most questions on Employment & Start-up Courses turned out to be lower than Employment Courses and CEO Courses. 2. Through a variance analysis on questions related to educational courses (Employment & Start-up Course, Incumbent Course & CEO Course) and post-verification, it turned out that Employment Course is in the same group as the CEO Course in most questions, and that Employment & Start-up Course was a separate group. 3. Overall satisfaction with education turned out to be as high, at 4.1 out of 5. 4. Through a portfolio analysis on educational courses, it was found that 'Overall Satisfaction with Educational Contents,' 'Usefulness of Educational Contents,' 'Overall Satisfaction with Educational Environment' and 'Quality and Ability of Instructors' were included in areas of recommendation.
