We separated the multilayer structure of CD-R(compact disk-recordable) and investigated optimal spot marking conditions and physical and chemical transitions in response to various laser beam energh levels. Spot marking(80 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ spot size) was produced on the surface of each layer using a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser between 27 mJ and 373mJ. By investigating resulting pit formation with Optical Microscopy(OM) and Optical Coherence Tomography(OCT), we analyzed the formation process of spot marking in the multilayer structure of different chemical composition. The localized heating of the substrate in the multilayer thin film caused the short temporal thermal expansion, and absorbed optical energy between reflective and dye interfaces melted dye and increased the volume. During the cooling phase, formation of pit and surrounding rim can be explained by three distinct processes; effect of surface tension, evaporation by spontaneous temperature increase due to laser energy, and mass flow from the recoil pressure. Our results shows that the spot marking formation process in the multilayer thin film is closely related to the layers' physical, chemical, and optical properties, such as surface tension, melt viscosity, layer thickness, and chemical composition.
The inherent characteristic of concrete tensile cracks, directional nonlocal crack damage, causes so-called rotating tensile crack damage and softening of compressive strength. In the present study, a plasticity model was developed to describe the behavior of reinforced concrete planar members In tension-compression. To describe the effect of directional nonlocal crack damage, the concept of microplane model was combined with the plasticity model. Unlike existing models, in the proposed model, softening of compressive strength as well as the tensile crack damage were defined by the directional nonlocal crack damage. Once a tensile cracking occurs, the microplanes of concrete are affected by the nonlocal crack damage. In the microplanes, microscopic tension and compression failure surfaces are calculated. By integrating the microscopic failure surfaces, the macroscopic failure surface is calculated. The proposed model was implemented to finite element analysis, and it was verified by comparisons with the results of existing shear panel tests.

To establish a floating offshore wind turbine simulation model, a tension leg platform is added to an onshore wind turbine. The wind load is calculated by using meteorological administration data and a power law that defines the wind velocity according to the height from the sea surface. The wind load is applied to the blade and wind tower at a regular distance. The relative Morison equation is employed to generate the wave load. The rated rotor speed (18 rpm) is applied to the hub as a motion. The dynamic behavior of a 2-MW floating offshore wind turbine subjected to the wave excitation and wind load is analyzed. The flexible effects of the wind tower and the blade are analyzed. The flexible model of the wind tower and blade is established to examine the natural frequency of the TLP-type offshore wind turbine. To study the effect of the flexible tower and blade on the floating offshore wind turbine, we modeled the flexible tower model and flexible tower-blade model and compared it with a rigid model.

Dynamic response analysis is carried out for slender marine structures such as tensioned risers and tethers of tension leg platform, which are subjected to floating vessel motions as well as environmental forces arising from ocean waves. A mumerical analysis procedure is developed by using finite element model of the structural member. Dynamic analses are performed in the time domain for regular waves. Parameter studies are carried out to highlight the effects of surface vessel motions on the lateral dynamics of the structures. Example results of displacements, bending stresses are compared for various in water depth, environmental condition and vessel motion. Some instability conditions of the structures due to time-varying tension by vessel heave motion are discussed through the example analyses. As the results, the interaction between vessel surge and heave motions amplifies the total structural response of a riser. In the case of a tether, the effect of vessel heave motion during heavy storm is seemed to be quite significant to lateral response of the structure.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of trans-cinnamaldehyde and high pressure treatment on milk. Cinnamon oil milk was manufactured by high speed homogenization (3,000 rpm) and high pressure homogenization (500 and 2,000 bar) processing UHT milk and trans-cinnamaldehyde of various concentrations (0 to 0.1% (w/v)). Cinnamon oil milk was inoculated with Escherichia coli (6.4 Log CFU/mL) and kept at $7^{\circ}C$ for 10 d to observe the antibacterial effect. The cinnamon oil milk containing 0.05% (w/v) trans-cinnamaldehyde initially began to show an antibacterial effect and Escherichia coli completely died in cinnamon oil milk added 0.1% (w/v) trans-cinnamaldehyde on the 6th day of storage. The result of the TBA value showed that the addition of 0.1% (w/v) trans-cinnamaldehyde was also effective to protect lipid oxidation. In the physical properties of cinnamon oil milk, particle sizes were enlarged in all samples during storage periods and the total color difference of cinnamon oil milk was slightly increased as level of high pressure. The surface tension of cinnamon oil milk treated 2,000 bar was remarkably higher than other samples. It seems that trans-cinnamaldehyde showed antibacterial activity and antioxidation effect at 0.05 and 0.1% (w/v) of concentration. Remarkably, high pressure treatment did not influence its microbial property but slightly affected the physical properties of cinnamon oil milk.

Cotton fabrics were finished with mixture of BTCA(1,2,3,4,-butanetetracarboxylic acid) and polyalkyleneoxide-modified amino-functional silicone by pad-dry-cure process to achieve better DP performance with a higher retention of physical properties as compared to those of finished with BTCA alone. The results indicated that BTCA improved the wrinkle recovery but reduced significantly the tensile and tear strength of the treated fabrics. Whereas silicone imparted a lower wrinkle recovery, a lower loss of tensile strength than BTCA, in addition improved considerably the tear strength owing to reduction in inter-fiber and/or inter-yarn frictional forces. The concentration and curing temperature needed to enhance physical properties were as follows; for BTCA treatments 6%, at 18$0^{\circ}C$, for silicone treatments 1% at 14$0^{\circ}C$. This optimum concentration of silicone was observed by using the mixture of BTCA and silicone. The wrinkle recovery and DP rating of cotton fabrics treated with mixture of 4% BTCA and 1% silicone at a curing temperature of 17$0^{\circ}C$ was similar to those of treated with 6% BTCA at a curing temperature of 18$0^{\circ}C$, and other performance properties observed were; an increase in tensile strength, extension, toughness, abrasion resistance and moisture regain due to the reduction of BTCA concentration and curing temperature, futhermore an improvement in bending and surface properties due to the lubricating effect of silicone. On the other hand 1% aqueous silicone solution showed the lowest surface tension. Such nonionic surface activity resulted in a more uniform and rapid deposition of BTCA on the fiber or fabric.

Detergency and surface active properties of mixed anionic surfactants with amphoteric and nonionic were investigated. Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and ammonium dodecyl sulfate (ADS) as anionic surfactants and cocamidopropyl betaine (CAPB) as an amphoteric surfactant were used. Nonionic surfactants, which are butyl glucoside (BG), octyl glucoside (OG), decyl glucoside (DG), lauryl dimethylamine oxide (AO) and saponin were also used. To study the synergy effects of mixed SDS/ADS anionic surfactant systems, amphoteric and nonionic surfactants were added into the mixed anionic surfactants. Investigated properties of surfactant mixtures were critical micelle concentration (CMC), surface tension (${\gamma}$), wettability. In addition, based on these properties, detergency of each sample was examined. Surfactant mixtures are anionics (SDS/ADS), anionic/amphoteric/nonionic (SDS/ADS/CAPB/saponin), and anionic/nonionic (SDS/ADS/BG/saponin, SDS/ADS/OG/saponin, SDS/ADS/DG/saponin, and SDS/ADS/AO/saponin). With the addition of amphoteric and nonionic to mixed anionic surfactants, CMC and ${\gamma}$ were decreased. Addition of CAPB, which is amphoteric, showed the best property at CMC and ${\gamma}$. Furthermore, as the chain length of hydrocarbon in alkyl glucosides was increased, the CMC and ${\gamma}$ were enhanced. However, the wettability did not exactly match up with CMC and ${\gamma}$. The surfactant mixture, which contained DG, showed the best performance at wetting time. Detergency was measured at various temperatures ($15^{\circ}C$, $30^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$). The cleaning performance was enhanced by increasing washing temperature. Moreover, detergency was influenced by not only CMC and ${\gamma}$ but also wettability. Although CMC and ${\gamma}$ were not minimum at surfactant mixture that included DG, the best cleaning performance showed in that sample.

Considerable attention has been focused on the applications of flexible liquid crystal (LC)-based displays because of their many potential advantages, such as portability, durability, light weight, thin packaging, flexibility, and low power consumption. To develop flexible LCDs that are capable of delivering high-quality moving images, like conventional glass-substrate LCDs, the LC device structure must have a stable alignment layer of LC molecules, concurrently support uniform cell gaps, and tightly bind two flexible substrates under external tension. However, stable LC molecular alignment has not been achieved because of the layerless LC alignment, and consequently high-quality images cannot be guaranteed. To solve these critical problems, we have proposed a PDMS pixel-wall based bonding method via the IB irradiation was developed for fasten the two substrates together strongly and maintain uniform cell gaps. The effect of the IB irradiation on PDMS with PI surface was also evaluated by side structure configuration and a result of x-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis of PDMS interlayer as a function of binder with substrates. large number of PDMS pixel-walls are tightly fastened to the surface of each flexible substrate and could maintain a constant cell gap between the LC molecules without using any other epoxy or polymer. To enhance the electro-optical performance of the LC device, we applied an alignment method that creates pretilt angle on the PI surface via ion beam irradiation. Using this approach, our flexible LCDs have a contrast ratio of 132:1 and a response time of about 15 ms, resulting in highly reliable electro-optical performance in the bent state, comparable to that of glass-substrate LCDs.
Stability of the moving historic sites have something to do with the degree of easiness of work as well as physical property of polymer product. These agents should be able to use without the effect of outer environments like water or low temperature and must have stability during progress of working the peel off Urethane pre-product from Epoxy surface. So, we synthesized low viscosity epoxy resin and hardener with best physical quality and separation media for the moving of historical sites. These products have very good tension strength, adhesion strength, low viscosity and various physical properties that the users want. Particularly, separation media products have good separation of Urethane pre-products surface and Epoxy final product surface.
An experimental study is presented for extinguishing characteristics of liquid fuel fire by water mist containing sodium acetate trihydrate. To evaluate the extinguishing performance of water mist containing an additive, the evaporation characteristics of a water droplet on a heated surface was examined. The evaporation process was recorded by a charge-coupled-device camera. Also, small-scale extinguishing tests were conducted for n-heptane pool fire in ventilated space to measure flame temperature variation. The average evaporation rate of a water droplet containing an additive was lower than that of a pure water droplet at a given surface temperature due to the precipitation of salt in the liquid-film and change of surface tension. In case of using an additive, the flame temperature was lower than that of pure water at a given discharge pressure and it was because the momentum of a water droplet containing an additive was increased reducing flame size. And also dissociated metal atoms, sodium, were reacted as a scavenger of the major radical species OH^-,\;H^+$ which were generated for combustion process. Moreover, at a high pressure of 4MPa, the fire was extinguished through blowing effect as well as primary extinguishing mechanisms.
