  • Contemporary architecture calls for a wide range of surface textures and treatments. A surface compatible with the architect's design may vary from a glass-smooth finish to one requiring special sculptured ornamentation. These surfaces require many different types of form sheathing and lining. The purpose of study development new design form and made elaborateness shape. Easy to used in field that architecture finish material not used expect effective reduce of working hours, personnel expenses, architecture finish material, cost.   • In this study, three-dimensional imcompressible viscous flow analysis and optimization using response surface method are presented for the design of a jet fan. Steady, imcompressible, three-dimensional Reynolds averaged Wavier-Stokes equations are used as governing equations, and standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model is chosen as a turbulence model. Governimg equations are discretized using finite volume method. Sweep angles are used as design variables for the shape optimization of the impeller in response surface method. The experimental points which are needed to construct response surface are obtained from the D-optimal design and finally the shape of impeller Is achieved from using a numerical optimization for the response surface which is obtained from CFD.

  • In order to design an effective foot surface which can provide adequate friction for a self-propelled medical microrobot moving inside the small intestine, frictional mechanisms between the small intestine inner wall and the foot surface of the robot must be understood. In this paper, mechanical interlocking effect was considered to design the surface of the foot that can generate the desired frictional force. The concept of the design was derived from the hookworm that lives inside the small intestine. Hookwarms are known to adhere to the small intestine wall by interlocking with villi on the surface of the small intestine. The interlocking mechanism was considered as the main frictional mechanism for the design of the microrobot foot surface in this work. 2 mm and 6 mm diameter solid and hollow cylindrical shaped foot specimens were designed and tested to assess the frictional force between the specimens and the porcine small intestine specimen.

  • This paper deals with the design process for an outer-rotor-type surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) used in continuous variable valve timing (CVVT) systems in automobiles with internal combustion engines. When the same size, outer-rotor-type SPMSMs generate larger torque and more stable than inner-rotor-type SPMSMs. For the initial design, space harmonic analysis (SHA) is used. In order to minimize the cogging torque, an optimization was conducted using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). At the end of the paper, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is performed to verify the performance of the optimum model.

  • 연구에서는 다분야 통합 최적설계를 위한 시스템 근사화 기법으로 RRSET (Repetitive Response Surface Enhancement Technique)를 제안하였다. 2차 다항식만으로는 어려운 반응면의 표현을 위해 RRSET는 설계공간을 변형할 수 있는 스트레칭 함수를 도입하고 전역 최적화 알고리즘인 담금질 모사기법을 이용하여 반응면을 최적화 하였다. 도출된 최적점은 반복적으로 다음 순기의 반응면의 구성에 이용하여 반응면의 신뢰도를 더욱 높일 수 있었다. 제안된 기법을 수치예제 등에 적용한 결과, 비교적 적은 수의 실험 회수로 비선형적인 반응면을 잘 표현하고 최적 설계점을 도출해낼 수 있음이 확인되었다. 정밀한 근사화 기법의 중요성이 강화되고 있는 현재, 본 연구에서 제시된 근사화 기법은 차후의 연구에서 다분야 통합 최적화 기법에의 적용이 가능하리라 사료된다.

사출성형 중 달무리 현상에 의한 불량에 대한 분석 (Analysis of defects caused by halo defects during injection molding)

  • In this study, we investigated the halo surface defection of various phenomenon occurred during the injection molding process which is caused by the thinning of the product thickness and the importance of the appearance. Surface analysis was performed to observe the difference between the surface where defects appeared and the surface which did not appear. Based on these results, we analyzed the phenomenon of halo surface defects was caused by unstable flow of resin generated in injection molding and velocity change of flow front. Furthermore, we will conduct a clear analysis of halo surface defects through observations through optical microscopy and subsequent observations with atomic force microscope. It has been analyzed that halo in PP is due to the rheological difference between the crystalline and amorphous regions while that in PC/ABS is due to shear separation of PC and ABS.

  • The problem of brake judder is typically caused by defects of quality manufacturing. DFSS (Design for six sigma) is a design process for quality improvement. DFSS will result in more improved but less expensive quality products. This paper presents an implementation of DFSS for quality improvement of the brake judder of heavy-duty trucks. Carrying out 5 steps of DFSS, the major reasons for defects of quality are found. The numerical approximation of the brake system is derived by means of the response surface method. Its quality for brake judder is improved by using the sigma based robust design methodology. Results are compared between the conventional deterministic optimal design and the proposed sigma based robust design. The proposed one shows that manufacturing cost may increase as the quality level increase. The proposed one, however, is more economical in aspect of the overall cost since the probability of failure dramatically goes down.

반응표면분석법을 이용한 사출성형품의 휨의 강건설계 (Robust Design of Warpage in Injection-Molded Parts Using the Response Surface Methodology)

  • An optimal robust design methodology has been developed to minimize warpage in injection-molded pats. The response surface methodology was applied to obtain a functional relationship between design variables and warpage value, and the modified complex method was used as an optimization tool to search for an optimal design solution over prescribed design region. To attain robustness against process variations, Taguchi's SN ratio was introduced as the design metric. The proposed optimal design procedure was applied to an actual part, the Guide-ASF model of a fax machine, and the usefulness of the methodology was shown through the CAE simulation using a commercial injection molding software package.

  • Optimization of 26 design variables selected from suspension characteristics for Korean High Speed Train (KHST) is performed according to the minimization of 58 responses which represent running safety and ride comfort for KHST and analyzed by using the each response surface model from stochastic design experiments. Sensitivity of design variables is also analyzed through the response surface model which ineffective design prameters to the performance index are screened by using stepwise regression method. The response surface models are used for optimizing design variables through simplex algorism. Values of performance index simulated by optimized design parameters are totally lower than those by initial design parameters. It shows that this method is effective for optimizing multi-design variables to multi-object function.

  • In designing furniture and interior accessories, a computer graphic program is normally used over the whole process of manufacturing furniture from idea stage to actual manufacturing stage. It especially play an important role in the modeling process which comes before actual manufacturing stage. in such modeling process, the most important part is expression of quality of material used and surface treatment method. Expression of material quality of wood and surface finishing just like an actual picture enable the designers to analogize the feeling of furniture and interior accessories more exactly over the whole process of actual manufacturing and such a result has positive effect on development field of furniture and accessories.
