우주환경에서 대형 반사경의 습기 방출에 의한 형상 변화 예측방법 (Prediction Method for Moisture-release Surface Deformation of a Large Mirror in the Space Environment)

  • 본 논문에서는 우주의 진공환경에서 반사경 코팅이 흡수한 습기를 방출하면서 나타나는 경면 형상의 변화를 예측하기 위한 새로운 방법론을 제안한다. 직경 50 mm, 두께 1.03 mm의 원형 시편과 간섭계를 통해 진공환경에서 나타나는 시편 형상 변화량을 측정하고 제르니케 프린지 다항식(Zernike fringe polynomial) 곡률항으로 나타내었다. 그 결과 습기 방출에 따른 코팅 스트레스는 152.7 Mpa로 계산되었다. 계산된 스트레스는 1.25 mm 두께 시편의 수치모사 모델에 적용하여 변화된 형상의 곡률항을 측정결과의 표준편차 이내($78.9{\pm}5.9nm$)로 예측할 수 있음을 검증하였다. 이 방법론을 2019년에 발사 예정인 차세대중형위성의 직경 600 mm 쌍곡면경에 적용, 습기 방출에 의한 경면 형상 변화를 계산하여 반사경의 초점거리가 약 $2.005{\mu}m$ 만큼 ?아짐을 예측하였다. 초점거리 변화는 광학 탑재체의 MTF를 한계공간주파수(Nyquist frequency)에서 2.3% 가량 낮추지만, 요구 사양을 만족하여 우주에서도 문제없이 운용 가능함을 확인하였다.

쇼트피닝한 스프링강의 피로균열진전 연구 (A Study of Fatigue Crack Growth in Shot Peened Spring Steel)

  • Antifatigue failure technology take an important the part of current industries. Currently, the shot peening is used for removing the defect from the surface of steel and improving the fatigue strength on surface. Therefore in this paper the effect of compressive residual stress by shot peening on fatigue crack growth characteristics in stress ratio(R=0.1, 0.3, 0.6)was investigated with considering fracture mechanics. There is difference between shot peening specimen and unpeening specimen. Fatigue crack growth rate of shot peening specimen was lower than that of unpeening specimen. Fatigue lift shows more improvement in the shot peening material than in the unpeening material. And compressive residual stress of surface on the shot peening processed operate resistance force of fatigue crack propagation. That is the constrained force about plasticity deformation was strengthened by resultant stress, which resulted from plasticity deformation and compressive residual stress in the process of fatigue crack propagation.

  • Plastically deformed layer influences the mechanical property of the mechanical element such as creep hardening, microscopical crack and stress corrosion destruction. Therefore, the property so called the surface integrity has to be considered, and the machined surface including plastic deformation, distribution of stress has to be conducted quantitatively. This paper explains the orthogonal cutting, and made an orthogonal cutting model using the finite element method, then analyzed cutting power, plastic deformation of workpiece. It introduces the developed subsequent recrystallizations technique for measurement of the plastic strain of machined surface, and verified the technique.

피에조콘 시험의 유한요소 해석 I (Finite Element Analysis Piezocone Test I)

  • 본 연구에서는 피에조콘 시험의 유한요소해석을 점탄소성 bounding surface 구성모델과 large displacement large deformation 개념을 이용하여 수행하였다. 이에 따라 구성모델, 가상일의 방정식 및 관련 유한요소 식 등을 Updated Lagrangian reference frame에서 formulation 하였으며 지반의 거동은 theory of mixtures를 통하여 설명하였다. Theory of mixtures 역시 Updated Lagrangian reference frame에서 formulation하였다. 구성모델 중 점성 부분이 전체 formulation 과정에 중요한 영향을 미친다는 사실이 고찰되었다. 유한요소 해석의 결과는 실내에서 실시한 대형 모델시험의 결과와 비교, 분석하였다. Formulation 과정은 'I' 결과는 'II'에서 설명된다.

  • A roller with a shaft and hot oil paths for pressing electrodes of polymer batteries were modeled and analyzed by FEM. There are many hot oil tubes in the roller and shaft, through which $72^{\circ}C$ hot oil flows for heating the surface of a roller and shaft. Thermal deformations and temperatures distributions of the roller and shaft were calculated and a convection boundary condition on surfaces was used. The influence of existence of a groove in the shaft on the flatness of a roller surface caused by thermal deformation was investigated. In addition, the amount of spring-back of electrodes under vacuum pressure and heating was calculated after the hot rolling process. It was shown from this study that the groove in one shaft had a favorable effect on the surface flatness.

  • The microfabricated test structures were used in order to evaluate the stress characteristics in films. The test structures were fabricated using surface micromachining technique, including HF vapor phase etching as an effective release method. The fabricated structures were micro strain gauge, cantilever-type vernier gauge and bridge for stress measurement, and cantilever for stress gradient measurement. The strain was measures by observing the deformation of the structures occurred after release etching and the amount of deformation can be detected by micro vernier gauge, which has gauge resolution of 0.2${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. The detection principles and the degree of precision for the measured strain were also discussed. The characteristics of residual stress in LPCVD polysilicon films were studied using these test structures. The stress gradient due to the stress variation through the film thickness was calculated by measuring the deflection at the cantilever free end.

  • In the mixed lubrication regime, the roughness effects are very important due to the presence of interacting asperities. An average Reynolds equation using flow factors is very useful to determine effects of surface roughness on mixed lubrication. In this paper, the pressure flow factors and shear stress factor for Gaussian and non-Gaussian surfaces are evaluated in terms of kurtosis and skewness. particularly, the elastic deformation of the surface is considered.

  • Elastic-Plasitc Finite element analysis is peformed about the TiN coated medium. The normal contact is simulated by a rigid asperity pressing the surface of an elastic-plastic half-surface. The case of a surface film stiffer than the substrate is considered, and general solutions for the subsurface stress and deformation fields are presented for several coating thickness. Additionally, the critical normal loads for deformation in the substrate and coating fracture are calculated when the yield of TiN film follows the Maximum Principal Stress Theory and Von Mises Theory. The results can be subsumed in failure maps for TiN thin film on steel.

  • Indentation pattern and line pattern were machined on borosilicate(Pyrex 7740 glass) surface using the combination of mechanical machining by $Nanoi-indenter\circledR$ XP and HF wet etching, and a etch-mask effect of the affected layer of the nano-scratched and indented Pyrex 7740 glass surface was investigated. In this study, effects of indentation and scratch process with etching time on the morphologies of the indented and scratched surfaces after isotropic etching were investigated from an angle of deformation energies.
