A Study on the Stability of Supervisory Control for Nonlinear System with Saturating Input (포화입력을 가진 비선형 시스템에 대한 슈퍼바이저 제어의 안정성 연구)

  • In realistic control systems the nonlinear saturation attributes of the control actuator due to physical limitations should be taken into account This nonlinear saturation of actuators may cause not only deterioration of the control performance but also a large overshoot during start-up and shut-down. As the overshoot increases the system may become oscillatory unstable. in this paper the supervisor implementation which guarantees good performance for saturation operation and prevents reset wind up is presented, Moreover the sufficient conditions of the stability for saturated system using supervisory control with a dynamic controller are provided in the continuous-time and in the discrete-time domain Numerical example is illustrated to depict the efficiency of supervisory control for a typical satuaurated production-distribution system controlled by a discrete-time dynamic controller and to validate basic results by simulation.

  • In this paper an intelligent supervisory programmable controller for automatic assembly machine is developed. This is achieved by adding sequence control hardware with input-interrupts to supervisory real time language and also by incorporating an automatic planning method which uses a predicate logic model and an action model. The designed intelligent supervisory programmable controller is applied to Die Bonding Machine and is to found to work well.

  • In realistic control systems, the nonlinear salutation attributes of the control actuator due to physical limitations should be taken into account.   • In this paper, a multi-processor-based supervisory control for automatic assembly system is presented. The proposed supervisory control is organized in terms of C-language and with structured and easily expandable characteristics. Also the controller is designed to possess diagnostic capability including self-diagnosis of processor module. The developed supervisory control has been shown to be very useful via a high speed automatic assembly system with vision capability.

  • Robust control for DC motor is needed according to the highest precision of industrial automation. However when a motor control system with PID controller has an effect of load disturbance, it is very difficult to guarantee the robustness of control system. As a compensation method solving this problem, in this paper, PID-supervision hybrid control method for motor control system is presented. If the PID control system (without the supervisory controller) is stable in the sense that the error is inside the constraint set, the supervisory control is idle. If the error hits the boundary of the constraint, the supervisory controller begins operation to force the error back to the constraint set. We prove that the PID-supervision hybrid control system is globally stable in the sense that the error is guaranteed to be within the tolerance limits specified by the system designer.

  • Recently, many passenger cars have adopted automatic transmissions for shifting gears, and thus the smooth and precise control of gear shifts of passenger car automatic transmissions has become more and more essential for the riding comfort of vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions. In this article, a neural network-based supervisor for an automotive shift controller considering the throttle opening, variations in throttle opening, and the driving load is presented. For using the driving load information, an observer-based driving load estimation algorithm is proposed. A proportional-integral-derivative controller along with an open loop controller is used as a low level controller for controlling the gear shifts, and a supervisory controller for properly adapting the shift control parameters of the low level shift controller is designed using ANFIS. To evaluate the control performance of the proposed supervisor-based shift controller, both simulation studies and experimental studies are performed for various shifting situations.

  • This paper presents a design procedure for the supervisory controller(SC) of the high-speed train car. The proposed SC manages control logic and scenario of the overall train system, and monitors input/output signals among the sub-controllers in the system, The roles and functions of each sub-control system are defined, and the interfaces among the control systems are developed. Train control system is modeled with automata, and the model is implemented into a program using a computer-aided software engineering(CASE) tool, Object GEODE, The designed SC is verified and evaluated by using simulation. The SC is shown to successfully perform the designed functions without any errors.

  • The manufacturing equipment on most shop floors consists of numerical control machines, and the condition of each piece of equipment is monitored and controlled by an internal sensor or programmable logic controller (PLC). To control and monitor production lines that consist of an equipment or production module, a separate control and monitoring system such as a manufacturing execution system should be introduced. However, there is no standardized system, and it is costly and difficult to build a system for small or medium-sized plants. In this paper, a PLC-based supervisory system for operation control of a group of production machines is proposed, and the developed PLC-based system is evaluated by applying it to a computer numerical control machine.

  • A supervisory controller design technique for multiple-AGV systems is presented in this paper. The guidepath is represented in the form of a network, and its modifications are easily tested. The network has two-layered structure, where the path sets between each two nodes are made in advance using the K-shortest path algorithm. Occupation times for all links are stored in link-occupation table, and are updated after the dispatching time. Dispatching and scheduling for each AGV are optimized in terms of minimum-time objectives. In all times, the paths are guaranteed to be conflict-free and deadlock-free. The simplicity and flexibility on this control scheme make the supervisory suitable for real applications.

  • It is needed to robust control for D.C. servo motor according to industrial automation. However, when a motor has an effect of disturbance and variable load, it is very difficult to guarantee the robustness of the system. as a compensation way of solving this problem, in this paper, a expert supervisory control method for motor control system is presented. Expert supervisory controller is designed by error and error change, and nth control input is decided by the addition of (n-1)th control input and inference amount of increase or decrease. Control input of expert supervisory control is transmitted to input, and the disturbance effect decrease remarkable by control input. The robustness of D.C. servo motor using expert supervisory control is demonstrated by the computer simulation.
