  • Text clustering is one of the most commonly used methods for detecting themes or types of documents. Text clustering is used in many fields, but its effectiveness is still not sufficient to be used for the understanding of Arabic text, especially with respect to terms extraction, unsupervised feature selection, and clustering algorithms. In most cases, terms extraction focuses on nouns. Clustering simplifies the understanding of an Arabic text like the text of the Quran; it is important not only for Muslims but for all people who want to know more about Islam. This paper discusses the complexity and limitations of Arabic text clustering in the Quran based on their themes. Unsupervised feature selection does not consider the relationships between the selected features. One weakness of clustering algorithms is that the selection of the optimal initial centroid still depends on chances and manual settings. Consequently, this paper reviews literature about the three major stages of Arabic clustering: terms extraction, unsupervised feature selection, and clustering. Six experiments were conducted to demonstrate previously un-discussed problems related to the metrics used for feature selection and clustering. Suggestions to improve clustering of the Quran based on themes are presented and discussed.

  • The Native API is a system call which can only be accessed with the authentication of the administrator. It can be used to detect a variety of malicious codes which can only be executed with the administrator's authority. Therefore, much research is being done on detection methods using the characteristics of the Native API. Most of these researches are being done by using supervised learning methods of machine learning. However, the classification standards of Anti-Virus companies do not reflect the characteristics of the Native API. As a result the population data used in the supervised learning methods are not accurate. Therefore, more research is needed on the topic of classification standards using the Native API for detection. This paper proposes a method for re-grouping malicious codes using fuzzy clustering methods with the Native API standard. The accuracy of the proposed re-grouping method uses machine learning to compare detection rates with previous classifying methods for evaluation.

  • GPR data is used for underground exploration. The data gathered are interpreted by experts based on experience as the underground facilities often reflect GPR. In addition, GPR data are different in the noise and characteristics of the data depending on the equipment, environment, etc. This often results in insufficient data with accurate labels. Generally, a large amount of training data have to be obtained to apply CNN models that exhibit high performance in image classification problems. However, due to the characteristics of GPR data, it makes difficult to obtain sufficient data. Finally, this makes neural networks unable to learn based on general supervised learning methods. This paper proposes an image classification method considering data characteristics to ensure that the accuracy of each label is similar. The proposed method is based on semi-supervised learning, and the image is classified using clustering techniques after extracting the feature values of the image from the neural network. This method can be utilized not only when the amount of the labeled data is insufficient, but also when labels that depend on the data are not highly reliable.

  • On this paper, we propose SOSL(Self-Organized Supervised Learning) and it's architecture SOSL is hybrid type neural network. It consists of several CBP (Component Back Propagation) neural networks, and a modified PCA neural networks. CBP neural networks perform supervised learning procedure in parallel to clustered and complex input patterns. Modified PCA networks perform it's learning in order to transform dimensions of original input patterns to lower dimensions by clustering and local projection. Proposed SOSL can effectively apply to neural network learning with large input patterns results in huge networks size.

  • In this paper, we propose a new intrusion detection algorithm based on clustering: Kernel-ART, which is composed of the on-line clustering algorithm, ART (adaptive resonance theory), combining with mercer-kernel and concept vector. Kernel-ART is not only satisfying all desirable characteristics in the context of clustering-based 105 but also alleviating drawbacks associated with the supervised learning IDS. It is able to detect various types of intrusions in real-time by means of generating clusters incrementally.

  • Clustering methods are very useful in many fields such as data mining, classification, and object recognition. Both the supervised and unsupervised grouping approaches can classify a series of sample data with a predefined or automatically assigned cluster number. However, there is no constraint on the number of elements for each cluster. Numbers of cluster members for each cluster obtained from clustering schemes are usually random. Thus, some clusters possess a large number of elements whereas others only have a few members. In some areas such as logistics management, a fixed number of members are preferred for each cluster or logistic center. Consequently, it is necessary to design a clustering method that can automatically adjust the number of group elements. In this paper, a k-means based clustering method with a fixed number of cluster members is proposed. In the proposed method, first, the data samples are clustered using the k-means algorithm. Then, the number of group elements is adjusted by employing a greedy strategy. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed clustering scheme can classify data samples efficiently for a fixed number of cluster members.

  • Gene expression studies require statistical experimental designs and validation before laboratory confirmation. Various clustering approaches, such as hierarchical, Kmeans, SOM are commonly used for unsupervised learning in gene expression data. Several classification methods, such as gene voting, SVM, or discriminant analysis are used for supervised lerning, where well-defined response classification is possible. Estimating gene-condition interaction effects require advanced, computationally-intensive statistical approaches.

  • Learning rule affects importantly the performance of neural network. This paper proposes a new fuzzy learning rule that uses the learning rate considering the distance between the input vector and the prototypes of classes. When the learning rule updates the prototypes of classes, this consideration reduces the effect of outlier on the prototypes of classes. This comes from making the effect of the input vector, which locates near the decision boundary, larger than an outlier. Therefore, it can prevents an outlier from deteriorating the decision boundary. This new fuzzy learning rule is integrated into IAFC(Integrated Adaptive Fuzzy Clustering) fuzzy neural network. Iris data set is used to compare the performance of the proposed fuzzy neural network with those of other supervised neural networks. The results show that the proposed fuzzy neural network is better than other supervised neural networks.

  • Conducting sentiment analysis and opinion mining are challenging tasks in natural language processing. Many of the sentiment analysis and opinion mining applications focus on product reviews, social media reviews, forums and microblogs whose reviews are topic-similar and opinion-rich. In this paper, we try to analyze the sentiments of sentences from online webcast reviews that scroll across the screen, which we call live barrages. Contrary to social media comments or product reviews, the topics in live barrages are more fragmented, and there are plenty of invalid comments that we must remove in the preprocessing phase. To extract evaluative sentiment sentences, we proposed a novel approach that clusters the barrages from the same commenter to solve the problem of scattering the information for each barrage. The method developed in this paper contains two subtasks: in the data preprocessing phase, we cluster the sentences from the same commenter and remove unavailable sentences; and we use a semi-supervised machine learning approach, the naïve Bayes algorithm, to analyze the sentiment of the barrage. According to our experimental results, this method shows that it performs well in analyzing the sentiment of online webcast barrages.
