A Numerical Weather Prediction System for Military Operation Based on PC cluster (작전기상 지원을 위한 PC 클러스터 기반의 기상수치예보시스템)

  • Weather conditions have played a vital role in a war. Many historical records reported that the miss use of weather information is the main reason of the lost a war. In this study we demonstrated the possibility of applying the numerical weather prediction system(NWPS) for military operations. The NWPS consists of PC-cluster as a super computer, data assimilation system ingesting many remote sensing observation, and graphic systems. High resolution prediction in NWPS can provide useful weather information such as wind, temperature, sea fog and so on for military operations.

  • In the present paper we develop a mathematical model that facilitates the calculation of reliability of a complex repairable system having three units namely super priority, priority and ordinary. The system is analyzed with the application of Gumbel Hougaard copula when different types of repair possible at a particular state due to deliberate failure. Various reliability measures such as reliability, MTTF and profit function have been evaluated by using supplementary variable and Laplace transform techniques.

  • This study's purpose is to revive pre-construction situation earlier than construction of media facade using light-emitting diode, and analyze the strong and weak points of simulation image making process and technology, including lots of expressing methods. Exterior building decoration that was originated from Super Graphic led to the LED construction with a trend of increased night activities of these days. Initial Super Graphic was just in the level of deciding what to do with simple CAD drawings, but today's media facade construction is not so simple as the previous ones. This is because of the problems that should think about balances between neighboring environment and buildings, including high construction costs. According to survey results, media facade construction simulation's various expressing methods, its processes of analysis, and its strong & weak points will suggest standards for its size of construction and simulation purpose, including recommending suggestions that can respond rapidly by clients' diverse demands.

  • This paper develops the piece creation of Hull-structure using PC(Personal Computer) which is from CADRA of graphic program. Large-sized shipbuilding yard was carried out on the development of CNC(Computer Numerical Control) auto cutting system used in super S/W such as AUTODEF, TRIBON. But this system needs lots of expenses and high technician, and only used in large-sized shipbuilding yard, not medium-sized and small-sized shipbuilding yard. To bring up the small and medium-sized ship building yard lacking a little competitive power. Small and medium-sized shipbuilding yard need the piece creation of Hull Structure S/W which is joined with the CADRA. Therefore the piece creation of Hull-Structure S/W is developed to joined with the CADRA of graphic S/W to create the piece to be needed on as auto cutting process using PC.

A Study on the Exterior Design Preference of Apartment (공동주택 외부디자인 선호경향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide practical guide for the Preference of exterior design in Apartment. The data is collected through questionnaire survey including observations and interviews. The sample consists of 229. The data is analyzed by using SPSS-PC. The major findings are as follows. (1) Most of residents recognize the importance of exterior design of apartments. (2) Most of residents are satisfied with the exterior design such as building form, color, and material and not satisfies with environment of apartments. (3) The most preferred color of Apartment is white as primary color and green as secondary color. (4) The most preferred color pattern is vertical type as facade, horizontal type as the back wall, super graphic and geometrical type as the side wall. (5) The preferred exterior images are modern, simple, and unique style.

  • 본 연구는 전기화학적으로 제조된 초환원수 수용액을 탈묵에 적용하기 위한 연구로서 수용액의 알카리도가 고지의 젖음성에 미치는 영향과 그에 따른 탈묵성에 미치는 영향을 고찰한 것이다. 초 환원수는 고전압 하에서 순수 물을 전기적으로 분해한 것으로서 양극에서 pH가 약 11이상의 것을 얻어 사용하였다. 물의 알칼리도에 따라서 탈묵제가 펄플에 젖음성의 영향을 살펴보았으며, 특히 펄프 입자의 표면 전하에 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 이에 따라서 잉크 입자의 탈착이 효과적으로 진행됨이 관찰되었으며, 탈착된 잉크 입자의 크기도 탈묵에 적절함으로서 탈묵 효과가 향상되었다. 이러한 현상을 사용된 계면활성제, 물의 알카리도, 펄프 및 잉크의 표면 전화, 친수/소수화도 등과 비교 검토하였다.

  • This paper describes a robot simulator which enables a user to model a robot geometrically, and to evaluate performances of various robot control algorithms as well as to obtain physical understanding of robot and acruator dynamics. To achieve these goals, the kinematics and dynamics of a robot and interactive 3-D computer graphics which visulaize the motion of the robot were studied. The developed robot simulator consists of two parts:a dynamic simulator and a graphic simulator. To evaluate the robot simulator PUMA-560, Stanford arm, and RHINO robot were considered and a DG MV/10000 super mini-computer and an IBM-PC/XT personal computer were used.

  • It's called masterpieces, which are made up of a lot of enthusiasts by adding a variety of configurations, high game quality, and colorful and realistic graphics. Since many classic games came out and disappear from the game companies, they have been revived in recent years as mobile. Although this phenomenon may have various hardware and software reasons, the present researcher intends to compare and analyze the graphical issues of the characters that can increase the game immersion by the user's autonomous selection among the factors for the immersion of the game. In addition to the birth of one of the most loved characters in the world among the characters of various games, it is considered to be a character who has developed the process of graphic and various expressive production centering on the character called Super Mario which shows various developments than the character in the game history of the world We will present various possibilities of development of game character through comparative analysis and research based on the character.

  • The improved performance of computer parts, such as graphic card, CPU, and main board, has led to the need for power supplies with a high power output. The dynamic load profile rapidly changes the usage of power consumption depending on load operations, such as PC power and air conditioner. Under dynamic load profile conditions, power consumption can be classified into maximum, normal, and standby power. Several problems arise in the case of maximum power. Peak power is generated at the system power source in the maximum-power situation. Frequent generation of peak power can cause high-frequency problems and reduce the life of high-pressure parts (especially high-pressure capacitors). For example, when a plurality of PCs are used, system overload occurs due to peak power generation and causes problems, such as power failure and increase in electricity bills due to exceeded contract power. To solve this problem, a system peak power limit/compensation power circuit is proposed for a power supply under dynamic load profile conditions. The proposed circuit detects the system current to determine the power situation of the load. When the system current is higher than the set level, the circuit recognizes that the system current generates peak power and compensates for the load power through a converter using a super capacitor as the power source. Thus, the peak power of loads with a dynamic load profile is limited and compensated for, and problems, such as high-frequency issues, are solved. In addition, the life of high-pressure parts is increased.

  • Online business these days prone to approach their costumers with improved module and various interface via Internet. This is more than just an act of providing enhancement, but a mean of finding out the customer's demand by enlarging their selection. This, however, is related to the bits per second of supplemental service network.For example, supplemental services that were not possible in the 56K modem era are now possible due to the information super highway network. To grope for new means of approaching, the best way will be by developing media that will collect customer's demands. Until now, customer's demands were evaluated by miniatures of apartment building, model houses or rendered images produced by 3D graphic softwares and pictures. Analyses were not available until evaluation were produced.Nowadays, utilizing the advanced Internet interface tools and various new media, customers are sought before the construction thus various studies to full fill the customer's demands are in process. This study is on development of a virtual module utilizing activated web environment. Analysis modules repeating the changes in customers are expected to deliver us a new trend.
