Relationship between Yield and Weather Elements of Barley in Sunchon Area, Korea

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relationships between yearly variations of weather elements and productivity in rice. In addition, coefficients of correlation among yield and yield components were used to find out the relationships between weather elements and productivity. Coefficients of variance (C.V.) of air temperature mean was considerable with 25%, but the variation by duration of sunshine was small in May. Culm length and number of spikes were great with c.v. of 21.5, 16.4%, respectively. Coefficients of correlation between temperatures of cultivation in May and yield were positive correlations. Coefficients of correlation between precipitation and sunshine of cultivation period from Oct. to May and yield were negative correlations. Coefficients of correlation amount the culm length, number of spikes, 1,000 grains wt. of seed, and yield were positively significant at the level of 1 %, respectively.

  • 당초는 석유 대체에너지의 개발로서 출발했던 Sunshine 계획이었지만 최근, 지구의 환경분제 특히 온실효과 문제에 대해서도 유효한 태양광발전의 기술개발을 적극적으로 추진하여 먼저 연료수송이나 운전.보수에 소요시간이 걸려 발전단가가 비싼 디젤발전에 의존하고 있는 낙도나 산간벽지에 도입을 시도할 필요가 있다고 생각하고 있다.

Analysis of Daylight Availability Rights using 3D City-Model (3차원 도시모델을 이용한 건물 일조권 분석)

  • Nowadays, architecture in urban areas is dominated by the goal of spanning wide spaces and creating openings large enough to distribute daylight to building interiors. Daylight availability of building in city strongly depends not only on the building's height but also on spaces between buildings. Recently numbers of disputes over the daylight availability are increasing in high density developed areas because residents' demand for pleasant residential environment is getting stronger. Therefore in this study we constructed the three-dimensional information of buildings using LiDAR data connected with digital map and then suggested conclusions by applying it to daylight availability analysis. This study presents an approach to judge accurately the violation of a right to enjoy sunshine by using altitude and azimuths of the sun, simulating three-dimensional urban space precisely, and classifying the total duration of sunshine and the continuous duration of sunshine each householder. We expect that local government performs precisely the confirmation and permission business about urban planning and design by advising this approach.

Change of Climatic Productivity Index for Rice under Recent Climate Change in Korea (최근 8-9월의 기상특징과 기후생산력지수의 변화)

  • Air temperature has increased, while sunshine hour has decreased during the grain filling period of most rice cultivars (August to September) during the past 12 years from 2001 through 2012 in Korea. Climatic Productivity Index (CPI) has fallen because of the decreased sunshine hour and increased air temperature during the grain filling period, and the degree of reduction was greater with earlier heading. For stable rice production, we will need to delay the heading of rice as a cultivation measure against the future climatic trend. Grain yield showed no significant trend for past 12 years. However, the year to year change in grain yield showed a similliar pattern with that of CPI. Especially, a linear function relating rice yield to CPI explained approximately 63% of variation in grain yield with the heading date of August $11^{th}$ period.

An Analysis of Temporal Characteristic Change for Various Hydrologic Weather Parameters (II ) - On the Variability, Periodicity - (각종 수문기상인자의 경년별 특성변화 분석 (II) - 변동성, 주기성을 중심으로 -)

  • In this study, for the purpose of analyzing variability and periodicity of Korean hydrologic weather parameters, 5 hydrologic weather parameters data such as annual precipitation, annual rainy days, annual average temperature, annual average relative humidity, annual duration of sunshine are collected from 63 domestic meteorological stations that has the hydrologic weather parameters records more than 30 years. And in this study the variability and periodicity using the statistical methods like Wald-Wolfowitz test, Mann-Whitney test, and Wavelet Transform about hydrologic weather parameters is analyzed. The results of statistical analysis of variability and periodicity can be summarized as follows: 1) Variability commonly appeared in annual average temperature and annual average relative humidity. 2) Annual precipitation, annual rainy days and annual duration of sunshine showed different results according to area. 3) Periodicity appeared in annual precipitation and annual rainy days but did not appeard in annual average temperature, annual average relative humidity and annual duration of sunshine.
