The processes of chemical and physical weathering occur simultaneously. The objective of this study was to estimate the degree weathered using fractal dimension through comparison with chemical characteristic of soil samples from Pohang (PH) and Kimpo (KP). Comparing chemical characteristics with fractal dimension, $SiO_2$, $Na_2O$, $K_2O$ content decreased and loss of ignition increased as fractal dimension increased. And fractal dimension showed high correlation with CWI while ATI, STI CIW, PI, CIA and RR demonstrated different degrees of correlation with fractal dimension. The tendency of the changes in oxide content and chemical weathering index with increasing fractal dimension appeared to be similar with the chemical changes due to weathering. Therefore, fractal dimension could be a good indicator representing the extent of weathering and chemical changes.

Xylanase (EC 3.2.1.8) was purified approximately 4.3 fold from Aspergillus niger SFN-416 by ammonium sulfate fractionation, Sephadex G-100 gel filtration and DEAE-Sephacel ion exchange chromatography. Molecular weight of the enzyme was approximately 42,000 daltons. The optimum pH and temperature of the enzyme activity were 5.5 and 50$\circ$C, respectively. The enzyme activity was enhanced by Fe$^{2+}$, and inhibited by Hg$^{2+}$. The activity was decreased by addition of methanol, ethanol, isopropanol and 1-butanol at a concentration of 10%(v/v).

The rapid diffusion of the Internet and the World Wide Web is facilitating greater interaction - and potential opportunities for customization - between vendors and customers. For instance, virtual reality and multimedia technologies allow consumers to envision their designed products. The increasing pace of the business environment highlights the need to deploy intelligent systems in all stages of product design and production planning. This paper deals with a system to generate an appropriate product design by adapting customer preferences and constraints using the case based reasoning methodology. Moreover, intelligent agents are integrated with virtual reality technology to provide a friendly user interface.

Chordoid glioma is a rare primary brain tumor of the third ventricle, and was recently characterized as a novel tumor entity. Typical radiological features of chordoid gliomas include; a solid, round-to-ovoid, well-circumscribed, contrast-enhancing mass of the hypothalamus and anterior third ventricle. Despite being classified as WHO grade 2, the third ventricular chordoid glioma has been reported to have a poor clinical outcome because of its anatomical location. The authors report a case of chordoid glioma of the third ventricle in a 48-year-old man with unusual radiological features of cystic component and ill defined circumscription.

A strategy for a torque ripple reduction drive of single-phase SRM with high power factor is proposed. The drive for switched reluctance motor (SRM) is presented to achieve sinusoidal, near unity power factor input current with low torque ripple. The proposed SRM drive has no additional active switch. And a single-stage approach, which combines a DC link capacitor used as do source and a drive used for driving the motor into one power stage, has a simple structure and low cost. The characteristics and validity of the proposed circuit is discussed in depth through the experimental results.

Hardware and software studies strongly indicate the feasibility of commercially producing a low cost, user-friendly photovoltaic cell curve tracer. The instrument will be used in conjuntion with an IBM compatible PC. The system will show not only the parameters; Voc, Isc, FF, Iop, Vop, that the conventional VI tracer shows but also the internal parasitic resistance and the detail parameters.

Purpose: This study was aimed to identify the effect of abdominal massage on relieving constipation of the patients receiving hemodialysis Method: This study used non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The data were collected from June 30 through July 18, 2008. The subjects of the study were 30 patients; 15 in the experimental group (with abdominal massage) and 15 in the control group(without abdominal massage). The data were analyzed with t-test, $x^2$-test, paired t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA using SPSS 12.0 program. Results: There was a significant difference in frequency of defecation in the experimental group compared to that of the control group. Conclusion: Abdominal massage could be an effective nursing intervention for the management of constipation among patients with hemodialysis. Abdominal massage also can be considered in palliative management for hemodialysis patients with constipation.
