Relationship Between Growth of Individual Trees and Surrounding Density in Larch Stand (Larix leptolepis) (낙엽송림(落葉松林)의 단목생장(單木生長)과 주변밀도(周邊密度)와의 관계(關係))

  • Individual tree growth in a given stand is considerably affected by its neighbouring trees or surrounding density. This trend is appeared more clearly in the unthinned stand. Relationship between growth of individual trees and density around them was analyzed by the use of the angle-summation method(AS method), and then multiple regression equation including variables of center trees and measures of surrounding density by the AS method was given for estimating diameter increment for the last five years and the next few years of center trees.

  • Improvements of classification accuracy are main issues in satellite image classification. Considering the facts that multiple images in the same area are available, there are needs on researches aiming improvements of classification accuracy using multiple data sets. In this study, orthogonal summation method of Dempster-Shafer theory (theory of evidence) is proposed as a multiple imagery classification method and posterior probabilities and classification uncertainty are used in calculation process. Accuracies of the proposed method are higher than conventional classification methods, maximum likelihood classification(MLC) of each data and MLC of merged data sets, which can be certified through statistical tests of mean difference.

  • It is difficult to analyze the high speed rolling missile with the generally used missile body fixed coordinates. In this study, we formulate the dynamic equations of the high speed rolling missile with the principal axis of inertia, and make the analytical model of one axis steering missile using pitch/yaw symmetry and complex summation method. With this model we analyze the control characteristics and propose the design considerations of high speed rolling missile with one axis control fin using PNG law in conjuntion with a seeker signal.

  • In this paper, we introduce a generating function for a Legendre-based poly-Bernoulli polynomials and give some identities of these polynomials related to the Stirling numbers of the second kind. By making use of the generating function method and some functional equations mentioned in the paper, we conduct a further investigation in order to obtain some implicit summation formulae for the Legendre-based poly-Bernoulli numbers and polynomials.

  • By establishing a new summation formula for the series $_3F_2(\frac{1}{2})$, recently Rathie and Pogany have obtained an interesting result known as Kummer type II transformation for the generalized hypergeometric function $_2F_2$. Here we aim at deriving their result by using a very elementary method and presenting two elegant results for certain terminating series $_3F_2(2)$. Furthermore two interesting applications of our new results are demonstrated.

  • Let 𝜑 : ℝn × [0, ∞) → [0, ∞) be a growth function and H𝜑(ℝn) the Musielak-Orlicz Hardy space defined via the non-tangential grand maximal function. A general summability method, the so-called 𝜃-summability is considered for multi-dimensional Fourier transforms in H𝜑(ℝn). Precisely, with some assumptions on 𝜃, the authors first prove that the maximal operator of the 𝜃-means is bounded from H𝜑(ℝn) to L𝜑(ℝn). As consequences, some norm and almost everywhere convergence results of the 𝜃-means, which generalizes the well-known Lebesgue's theorem, are then obtained. Finally, the corresponding conclusions of some specific summability methods, such as Bochner-Riesz, Weierstrass and Picard-Bessel summations, are also presented.

  • This study analyzes the effect of alternatives and estimates alternatives evaluation index (AEI) using PCSWMM and weighted summation method. PCSWMM considering combined sewer overflows (CSOs) in the Mokgamcheon watershed was used and effectiveness analysis of alternative was conducted to develop not only flowrate but also the pollutant of BOD and SS. Indicators of AEI are selected using sustainability evaluation concept, driver-pressure-state-impact-response (DPSIR) framework and calculated by weighted summation method. After estimating AEI, alternatives was classified into three groups G (Good), A (Acceptable) and P (Poor) grade. As a results, it is analyzed that alternatives applied to Oryucheon were G grade and those of Yeokgokcheon were P grade and the remainings were 'A' grade. This result will be effective to the integrated watershed management for sustainablility.

  • Life cycles of Sweltsa illiesi and S. lepnevae were determined from a headwater stream in Mt. Jumbong. Identification of nymphs was done by using DNA barcoding. Nymphs begin to have species specific color pattern on their head several months prior to adult emergence and differ in the form of the third antennal segment. Two species appear to have similar semivoltine life cycles in this stream, beginning to hatch from June and finishing adult emergence about 701 days later. The combined annual mean biomass in ash free dry mass (AFDM) was estimated as $96mg\;AFDM\;m^{-2}$. The combined annual secondary production were 373 mg and $297mg\;AFDM\;m^{-2}\;yr^{-1}$, calculated by using size frequency method and increment summation method respectively.
